  1. I thought he said he was just reading some random bbs post.
  2. ggs hobbes, azure, suna, Double007Snake, anyone else I ranked/lobbied with.
  3. Do it! Dustloop username: Ciddypoo PSN ID: ciddypooky Character: Yukiko Location/Timezone: VA (EST)
  4. ggs drake, Sindelian, vsocks. @ Drake: Yeah, sorry I didn't stick around, was getting crowded all of a sudden and I typically don't like to lobby in rooms bigger than 3 when I have limited playing time. =)
  5. It'll take it, but don't do it generally. Garudyne OMC is a pretty common pressure tool.
  6. I'm still having hardcore trouble with this matchup and how to approach it. j.D seems to work pretty nice, but I found that taking to the air is a good way to eat lightnings from fullscreen. I asked stunedge on how to approach and he said: So I'm gonna try 6D a bit more.
  7. Are you using something like 5A to try and catch it? 5A's pretty slow, and at max range he'll probably catch you with a second one if you're too late. Try and use 2A. Hit the lab and just practice hitting him out of it. You'll figure out what moves and what timing you should use.
  8. If you see it out in the open, wait till he flicks his wrist the second time to hit him. And if you block a j.2C (the glide thing), always punish with 2A, because at max range he can block / do another rage-inducing furious. It does make jumpins kinda difficult against him, though. You have to position your meaty projectiles so you aren't in range or you'll get swept cause he countered an agi explosion or something.

  10. 2B, Airthrow, j.A
  11. But it sure is fun, ne?
  12. I'll tinker around in the lab later as well. As far as things being telegraphed, you could also vary the fan throw with 4B/5B/6B and see where that leads. I typically find that the fan speed you choose is important anyway when you go for any 2/3D mixup, since some fans can try to cover the counterpoke that hits your Persona. Anyway, yeah, needs more labwork. Another interesting tidbit that's probably common knowledge (esp to Liz players), but if you jump and do sideswitch (A+C) and do j.C, the range on the j.C is extended greatly. I'm gonna try using this against big jumpers like Lab/Yosuke and see how it compares to just using regular j.C.
  13. I like this setup. It might be a pretty good one to mix up with the roll crossup that tanaka-special used: Ryd''s setup is nice because if they try to roll out (which you can train them to do if you just go for regular 2D, run up 2A setups), your dashup 2A+B will still hit them, or you could probably even confirm into a bigger combo. Like you said, the setup has some problems with B+D reversals, but if use the dashup roll crossup, it's a good DP bait if you aren't fighting someone with a multi-directional B+D. I've used it to some pretty good effect against Narukami and Mitsuru. Only thing is that tanaka's mixup requires ]A[ since you need A to roll, while this one requires ]B[ so you can throw a fan. Might make it easier to telegraph if they're watching carefully enough. Anyone wanna try and work out something that would miraculously work for both? :D
  14. ggs to knives and everyone else in that lobby for the night. I'm still slummin around on PSN if anyone's still up, wants a set and happens to have the PS3 version as well. ;p ggs to Heidern as well.
  15. I'm always down for a set if I'm online. Friend me on XBL / PSN and we can go whenever. PM me if you wanna try and set something up.
  16. Careful with that, since one of the aims of being Paralyzed is to get into that throw range. And if they commit to that, your roll gets grabbed anyway. When paralyzed, don't forget that you can still throw fans to buy you some time or get a hit in. Just cause you can't move doesn't mean they're out of range of your attacks. Same deal goals with a far reaching poke like 2C.
  17. It's cool, man. Karma hit me with a Mitsuru army on my S rank up. Back to A again.

Also to confirm 5A to j.A at the appropriate heights, and learn max range of 5B after a 5AA sequence.
  20. Yeah, that was a really good set. The first 'real' long set I've had with a good Yosuke. I learned a few things which echoes stunedge's advice: STOP TRYING TO 5A AA HIM. It just doesn't work. Block low since he has no real overhead options. j.A is good, still on the fence about j.C like choy mentioned in the MU thread. I'll upload more videos later if anyone's interested, from last night's matches (farplaner gets an appearance). Don't wanna clutter this thread up too much, but it doesn't seem like it's getting much use anyway.
  21. Hit the lab with Kanji and learn the ranges, since they're fixed. You can also get a feel for when a Kanji is gonna do it; they usually do it when you're further than midscreen. Absent a good read on a Maragi, lightning isn't too bad. You need to avoid it, though -- even if you block it, it's bad because Kanji gets a free in. Try and stay at the ranges where the lightning can't touch you.
  22. ggs suna, farplaner and everyone else I played in ranked today.
  23. GGs to howling-_-moon and everyone else I played in ranked tonight.
  24. Not sure if I'm understanding the responses totally, but starting a round off with Dia or trying to Dia a Coup Droit on reaction seems like some really bad stuff. She can delay the release to fake you out, and if you mistime it you're gonna eat all sorts of crap. I mean, if you pull it off, you're basically back to the same position you were before you did it. She'll take 100 damage and a full screen knockback (where she probably already was when she tried to Coup Droit you), and you just risked eating big damage. You'd be better off blocking the Coup Droit and just mashing Dia during blockstrings. At least that way you're more likely to hit her. I like jump back at the start of the round to see what they do. Most Mitsurus like to push buttons at the start. 5A will throw you in blockstun, Coup Droit is a quick way in and beats backdash, 5D beats jumpback fan and 2D beats sj Fan. Doing anything but the cautious approach before you've figured out your opponent's tendencies seems really risky, to me. I don't think there's a way Yukiko can come out in a favorable position at the very start of the round, so I just resign myself to that and block, at least until I get a feel for the opponent.
