To my knowledge, I don't think Dia counters anything (but I haven't tried the specials yet) that Chie throws out. As a tip, I know that if you're blocking her auto-combo, you can Dia right before she lands the stomp on the spiral-kick (if that's not her auto-combo, I stand corrected) to knock her back. Chie's mix-up is what gets me. Most of them I've ran into use two combos: the auto-combo and a combo that breaks off into a sweep after the third hit. The tricky part I've found to the former is that the spiral-kick is actually high, then the stomp after it is low (and there might be one more high, I'm not sure). Also, maybe I'm just bad, but I have a harder time landing my AoA BnB (j.B->j.B->j.C->JC->j.B->j.C->Agi) on her. It seems almost like her hitbox in the air is different, and if it is, I'd like to bring that to people's knowledge. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm trying to figure out if Chie's Jam-kick will pierce through fans. I've been wary of it, since one of my favorite things to do to Chies that don't get in is keep them at full-screen with fan-spam and Agi. Either way, unless there's something I don't know, it seems like at full-screen, it wouldn't connect, and is punishable by 5C anyway. Obviously, their answer to this is generally their Awakened SP move followed by a rushdown, so it's probably not in your best interest to do this if she's low.

So, Yu's slide can go under our 236236C. Just a heads-up. Kinda' salty about that.

It really depends on how he gets in on you, I guess. If you're blocking and all that, I try to find an opening for a 2B then follow that into an Agi-ending combo, and end it with B-Agi. My personal issue is his Zio at full-screen. I never quite see any telegraphing, and next thing I know, I'm hit by lightning and chairs and then have crazy people punchin' me...

[P4A] Yukiko PSN/XBL Player Directory (Residents of the Amagi Inn)
W7ngless replied to MikelAL93's topic in Yukiko Amagi
Howdy, folks. Signin' in to get active. PSN's W7ngless (surprise!), located in Tampa, FL. If there's a competition in the area, I'll probably wind up there to watch and fanboy as hard as possible. -
Yesterday, I spent upwards of two hours fighting the same 6 Yus in Ranked (it was a pretty big pain in the ass). I did, however, learn a few ways to keep them out that I feel like I should share. I won't pretend that I'm the best Yukiko in the world by any means, but it helps to have something to chew on, right? What I've seen a lot of in C+~ Yu-play is that they'll rely a pretty good deal on Raging Lion (sword-dive) that has to be blocked high, which was an issue because I typically try to block low to avoid any surprise lows. The general mix-up here is his 5D (low) into Raging Lion (high), so my strategy thus far is, as soon as I see Izanagi appear and set up for the dash, block low, then anticipate the high and switch up really quickly, and try to wake up with 2A into the usual BnB, or 5A+B in case he tries to follow up with 5A or something. The other pitfall I typically fell into was falling for the slide, too. I would try to evasive dodge out of it, but either due to mistimings or the hitbox being too large/lasting too long, it generally failed. SupaN10doh mentioned about countering it with an all-out attack (page 1), which is my personal preference on beating it (but I feel like I use all-out attacks more than anyone else I ever play against, which I think is partially due to me learning via stick. A friend commented on it, saying that I used it a lot more than most other people he's come across, and we deduced that hypothesis), however, I'm completely out of sync with him on using a One-More Cancel. I just follow up with the launch->j.A->j.A->j.C->JC->j.A->j.C->Agi combo outlined in the combo thread, as it does fairly hefty damage and, if timed properly, you can get out a Maragi before they hit the floor for another follow-up of your favorite flavor (I haven't really experimented with this, though). The main issue I have is getting to know his mix-up, because he can practically string one combo into another complete combo with very little room for punishment, particularly in the corner. However, once you learn when and how to block your opponent, like what Choysauce85 was saying, they'll have to go to other moves in order to get damage, which are, in my opinion, easier to counter out. 5BB will counter out Zio, obviously, and I've had Yus try to zone me from being able to, say, 5D with Zio, or bait out 5BB with one, then slide under the second to get in. Be wary of the traps, but for the most part, I think that Yukiko is too underplayed for Yus to know that we have two fans, haha. At least, I've never ran into one. Typically, my opening gambits are low-guard for 5D or slide, high-guard or evasive action in if he jumps to block out that stupid sword-dive or instant-dash j.A if I'm feelin' aggressive and he looks like he's gonna jump or do something silly. Mostly, I go with low-guard, and if he evasive dodges in, I'll try to catch him in a throw, and follow up with 5D combos. Thoughts?

It's the great Tsundere vs. Loli war of 2012. Only the dead have seen the end of the war.

I think I've seen it once or twice, actually. Haha, I guess George isn't nearly as popular with non-Rachel players, as he is with Rachel players, huh? Either way, feels good to finally start posting. God knows how long I've been creeping. Also, your avatar is almost mesmerizing. Damn you, Hatsune Miku! I'll figure out a better one as time goes along, my avatars have always been picked haphazardly.

Kinda' horrified, looking at the video section, seeing how few and wide videos where Rachel wins there are. o.o Haha, all part of the challenge, though, right? It'll be fun to pick up someone I've never run into online. Damn you, Ragna. Also, is there a ball-George? There should be a ball-George.

Oh, hey, this one's new. Hi! I'm W7ngless, and I'm almost 90% positive that I'm going to switch (again) mains (back) to Rachel! I've been playing for about 10 days now and trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can from streams, forums, events, and so on (taking the "full-immersion" approach), but I must say, Rachel is probably my worst main to date (as opposed to Hakumen, Noel and Hazama, but I feel like they're much easier to get the hang of). To tie on, I was also going to pick up Valk, not for lore or anything, but he seemed like a lot of fun when I saw him in exhibition recently. In any case, it's great to be here, and look forward to creeping on all of your conversations and soaking up all your golden knowledge-y goodness (huehuehue)!
