  1. Well I can start wearing my new glasses now but still struggling here and there it seems. I'll keep trying though Well I went to the local tourney again and after trying to play Rachel on Aracade stick, my dualshock controller skills became shot D: Took a while to regain composure throughout the evening with my controller but I managed to land some combos then had problems where I'd dropped them every so often and messed up. Mix ups just weren't happening for me either, I'll need to work on that still. My friend told me my bursting has improved and I didn't get so nervous I guess. Either way it was a great time Good news. I'm not the only Rachel player there anymore, he can do J.2C technique combos better than I can, he still mains Tsubaki and subs Arakune though. Other than that I'll skip the rest. I managed to get to the final again and played against the same Bang player (DragonLordZ) Even though he close enough destroyed me he said I have improved, so I must've been doing something right I guess. Shame it wasn't recorded due to SFvTekken overrunning so my friend recorded it all on his iphone instead. Sorry for writing it all here but I don't have a video to describe how things generally went and I'm too tired to journal entry the whole event on Deviant Art.
  2. I should be getting my new glasses this weekend. I'll probably keep wearing my current glasses until after the tourney, then my eyes don't have to adapt during the event xD So far today, in terms of BlazBlue and Rachel. Only been practicing in training mode trying to make sure I can do various combos every so often, just need to try and execute said combos in matches Still working on mix-ups as well. @Sakaku: Sounds good, I'll drop messages by
  3. I tend to skip the 4D wind part also and time my Dash towards them instead, so I can catch with 5B before they can land/tech and then follow with the J.2C lvl2 technique normally. Shame challenge 14 on Extend is awkward as skipping the 4D wind part seems more efficient for it saves on a single unit of wind but still does the same job I guess. Not sure if my post is ok. I'm half asleep atm xD EDIT: @samthegreat: Caught your post late sorry, I tend to do the normal 5B > J.C > J.2D > Jump Cancel 9 > J.2C > 236B and so on like that, when I try challenge 14, I think its the 4D thing that screws me up though, in actual matches or training mode I skip the 4D part. (I'm still not very good at writing combos out well)
  4. I've tried doing challenge 14 on Extend every so often myself, using the wind along with the wallbounce feels odd for me. Then trying to do the J.2C technique afterwards is just awkward for some reason as well. It feels like your trying to move Rachel backwards while going forwards at the same time. I'd keep watching the demo and study it carefully seeing when the wind is timed in with the wallbounce and when the dash 5B needs to take place. I try to break the challenges down into segments, so I don't worry what needs to come after the dash 5B part until I can work out all the inputs before it reasonably well Sorry if I wasn't much help, thought I'd share how I like to tackle awkward combos. EDIT: I tend to time/pace my inputs by saying something like "1/10,000" - "2/10,000" in my head as my timer for when I would want to try and input 4D > Dash 5B part
  5. I've used the combo a couple of times (the one that reminds me of challenge 9 from CS2/2nd one you mentioned) after a GBB in training, haven't been able to do it safely in a match so far, never thought about trying to use them to get out of the corners and turn things around though. I've also been working on making it habbit to check on Sakaku's combo video every so often, see what I can work on and pick up there along with other videos in the first post. Some really nice stuff there I agree Thanks for your help in answering my question and giving advise/info on Gold Break Bursts and how I should go about executing combos when I use one. Gives me something to work on while I'm in training mode next time EDIT: Just edited my post for I had to dash earlier and rushed the post, thought I'd tidy it up a bit. Sorry for any trouble caused.
  6. These recent images remind me. I should update my Rachel folder again, not enough hime-sama
  7. I never got to play FFXI and I don't think I'll be trying out FFXIV either, mainly due to not having my own computer. I've only played or tried for a bit of the others games bar FF2 xD @MisterBadguy: I see what you mean, at least the game being fun makes it worth playing. I agree I'm going to that local tourney for BB again this Sunday, I hope my Rachel has improved a little since last time and my confidence also. Still playing and training until then though, I'll definitely be going against Bang again, I may be able to pick up a few tips as well for playing as and against Bang, for I might be able to get more Match Up experiance and improve playing as Bang when I might want to Sub him for some rare reason
  8. Tempted to import this tbh. I quite like .Hack// in general
  9. I'm quite interested in the .Hack// Fighting game, I just wonder who all the playable characters will be. Only saw a bit of the thread last night on the game. I've only read various .Hack// manga and novels and the anime along with the first game .Hack//Infection for PS2, shame the other 3 games here are like £40+ on Amazon but I really do like it altogther. Tempted to import the game for a bit of fun Also, the Introductory Tea and Cake party thread seems to be doing well so far
  10. I see. I just used to burst without thinking in the past but kept an eye on it while training, whether or not it was me mashing the 4 buttons and winding accidently before the burst or something like that. Thanks for clarifying/letting me know about it though
  11. My Gold Break Bursts definitely make me loose a stock of wind. Not good it seems if I'd want to use one and have only one wind left... I might try putting Burst to a button and see if that changes anything than just mashing A+B+C+D. Reading talk on anime reminds me, I really need to catch up and also start some new anime that has been on my "To Watch List" for ages.
  12. I'm a little curious, are most combos feasible to pull off after a Gold Break Burst and/or is there any recommended combos that should be effective to use after one? I also wonder if there are any specific combos that utilize a Gold Break Burst in the middle of them. I'm going to have a few matches with a friend of mine and see what I can do though, it'll probably end in tears for me xD EDIT: Can't seem to find anything during what little matches I played and I'm not very creative enough to try and figure one out. Also my Gold Break Bursts make me loose a wind stock.
  13. Btw, I'll apologize in advance, my post might not make much sense and I haven't been a member here long, so I'm not quite sure if I can state my observation in this recent discussion point. Though, from what I've been reading and my short time as a member here, this is what I think I'm still new to Dustloop but I quite like Tari's idea, I mean. It may be easier for people to become more accustom to Dustloop through the boards where new members can relate to the character(s) they like to play as and make their starting posts around there. iirc, my first post was in this thread as I wasn't sure where to start but I was ok with that tbh though, I think it would be good to have an intro thread for it may get new members posting. we could always post a reply to them and generally welcome them to Dustloop and to the board. Although, I do see on the other hand with TD's recent posts where, not many people play/pick up Rachel from what it seems. Well where I've been, I've seen mostly, Tager, Noel, Ragna and even Hazama along with Lambda and Tao players. That might just be me though that keeps seeing those characters but the only Rachel players I know are me in my local area and fellow Rachel players on here. Although we might have a problem where, people may post in an introductory thread and then never post again. I suppose matters like these leave the Rachel board in a bit of a grey area. I quite like what TD has recently mentioned though and basically make a thread and see how things roll from there I must apologize again, for I am still quite new here.
  14. @Shruikon: I might need to slow down a bit after the J.2C lvl 2 for the 236B then. I'll try and work on my pace during the combo when I give it a shot next time
  15. Me and Shruikon had a few matches yesterday, great matches they were also. I still need to improve and kick out some of my bad Rachel habbits though Also my J.2C lvl2 didn't go quite according to plan when I was lucky to use it, Tsubaki ended up bouncing off the ground high into the air and my 236B didn't quite catch her. It might just be me and my timing though, so I still need some work on those J.2C combos I'm sure. Overall though, very GG's
  16. GGs also Shruikon. You've got a great Tsubaki, really fun and challenging matches I had there
  17. So when should we arrange said bootcamp
  18. @Rele: Thanks for the link, I'll be sure to check it out soon. If I do decide to give creating a fightstick a shot some day, I'm sure it would be a great experiance @Shruikon: Thought it best to let you know on here, I have accepted your PSN request.
  19. I see, thanks for clearing that up for me. I normally do 6A when he does the attack though, I'll look into trying other options every so often
  20. I've noticed with Tager's J.2C (I think it is that move, the one where he sticks his arm/elbow out and falls on top of you from the air) I find delaying my 6A a bit can smack him out of it from time to time, as he seems to float for a slight second when he uses it from what I see. Sometimes I end up doing 6A as soon as I see Tager using that and then ends up falling on me, I find waiting a tad or just before he might hit me to use 6A and stop him from falling on you. I'm still trying to test now just to be sure but Tager seems to be doing that move and I only have the one controller. Sorry about this post being quickly thrown together, just thought I'd mention it before I forget.
  21. I should've taken up that soldering option a few months back xD Never tried it before. I'll look into it at some point though. thanks for the info
  22. Thanks for the link TD, I'll be sure to read upon it soon. I'd love to improve playing as Rachel Talking about controllers/pads and whatnot. I think my controllers left analog stick is soon to become deceased from where I've been beating it to pieces. Might need to purchase a new controller anyway at some point xD @Sakaku: I see, I've been told before it is down to personal preference but there is something about them that interests me. I'll try using one again later this month when I attend the local tournament and ask for some casuals, see how playing Rachel on fightstick is like. Only played Hokuto No Ken there with one, I'll keep an open mind though when it comes to using fightsticks every so often. Sounds great also. I like the sound of a Rachel bootcamp, the more the merrier as they say @[sPA]Relentless: I have seen tutorials around the net on how people go about creating fightsticks, looks interesting I have to say but complicated I would of thought?
  23. Sounds like a plan. I'll apologize in advance for my lack of skill xD Though, it is all experiance at the end of the day I guess Another question that baffles my mind though, if you all don't mind me asking. Do most players here use a fightstick or use a general controller to play? I use a Dualshock controller but everyone else I have seen over the last 4-6 months, seems to use a fightsick. I'm not quite fond of them myself when I have tried them (mind only a few times at a local tourney I like attending) but was curious about your views.
  24. Short intro: Username wherever I go is usually Gamester. I like Anime, Games, manga, figure collecting and basically one of those people you find lurking at expo's xD Got BBCT late 2010. Loved playing it since. Especially when I met Rachel <3 I rarely played fighters at the time but BlazBlue got me into the genre much more. Still learning the terminology though, might be a while to get used to it all Dustloop Username: gamester PSN Username: Gamester717 EDIT: Thought it best to mention, I tend to be more free during the weekends but I can be up for matches during the week every so often as well. Just let me know when you'd like a few matches and I'll try my best to join If you happen to catch me while I'm online and you want a match, just drop me a message and in most cases I'll be able to play
  25. Would of posted earlier last night but got caught up with a few errands to run. It was interesting to read what happens on Rachel's birthday though @[sPA]Relentless: May be it is down to how I write/type xD @swordiris: It wasn't me then. I haven't played BB online properly since last Wednesday I am sure. @Shruiken: Yeah I play on PSN, I just don't have a set time for when I play online but I'll post in the "Loli Netplay Central" thread soon. I'm also from the South West
