From the frame data thread: "Bad Moon - Startup: 11F (same), ~16F for lowest TKBM (same). Still unreactable!"

What's the best way to confirm off of something like meeting the opponent air to air with a string like (rising) j.k, j.p when both chars are at around the same height? *) j.k, j.p, j.k, j.d (into rest of bnb) doesn't really work, opponent is too high most of the the time *) j.k, j.p, j.d doesn't combo *) j.k, j.p, j.k, iad j.k works but it's incredibly tight, and a j.p, j.h afterwards also drops more often than not due to height *) best thing i found so far was j.k, j.p, j.k, dj.k, j.p, j.h(1), j.236k, land 236h disc oki, but it feels really trashy :x Any suggestions?

Also don't forget you can yrc your disc if you have to set it a little bit later. TK badmoon/haircar or backdash (or a little step back) 2d/6k afterwards. Bonus points for this technique cause it might disrupt your opponent's timing or their inputs.

Slide probably means minidash. That's the only thing I could imagine for something like throw rc 236h. Thanks for the writeup, I'll try these out today.

Wow, only just now realized you posted this, haha. Thanks a lot, will try this out next time I get the chance.

Spend one hour in Pmode?

Those OD BBL combos give me CT flashbacks. Super into Super = 8k? Hell yes.

I haven't really watched a lot of BBCP matches so I don't know the current metagame, but from the few I watched it seemed to me that noone seems to use Guard Crushes outside of combos. I played some casuals yesterday and it occured to me that guardcrush might actually be really good for Rachel. Out of a standard knockdown with 3C and frog, I did meaty 5b into GC. To me it seems the opponent has the following options: 1) Reversal the 5b (not a lot of difference from standard oki then) 2) Barrier (this will take half of their barrier gauge, and you still get a mixup after the frog hit). If they do this twice, they will be in danger mode where they'll take a lot more damage and cannot airblock. I don't think I have to explain why this would be really beneficial to Rachel. 3) Normal block (obviously, they'll get hit and you can easily confirm into a combo from the frog) 4) Deadangle the 5b (this still works in your favor, since they'll exchange 50 tension for 25) What do you guys think?

Hello May forums, I'm currently trying to pick up May as a secondary character and practiced some of her AC combos yesterday and today (don't have ACR), just to get a feeling for her charge moves. Here's a combo I've been having problems with: dash 5K 5S 2D FBSHD dash 5S 5H SVD etc. The part that gives me a headache is sweep into FB dolphin. I've tried it on Jam and Axl so far. On Jam it's actually fairly easy and I could do it pretty consistently after some tries because Jam is so thin that the dolphin doesn't hit immediately after the sweep, which gives me enough time to input the FB. On Axl however the dolphin connects practically as soon as it comes out which leaves me with no room to input the FB. I've gotten it maybe once out of 100 tries. Any input/timing tips or tricks? Am I doing something else wrong? Or is it just a matter of "man it up"?

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

I noticed that but still had hopes. Actually wouldn't mind it though, I always enjoyed watching #R Millia the most, so if they make her more like that version I'd like that a lot. -

It's unlikely that she still has it or it's unlikely that they removed it? :V -
2D is a good poke but really all you get off it is the knockdown (unless you have 25 tension and your name is Nakamura, lol). Which of course is good, but it's not direct damage. Other characters have normals with better properties off which they can get huge combos on a random hit. That's what I meant when I said "not the best normals". f.S is also a fairly good ground poke but the most you can get is either 5H 2D or combo into Super. On the other hand her air to ground game is a lot stronger, thanks to airdashcancels and the pin.

Can Millia still dash-cancel her airnormals or did they remove that? -
I'd say her learning curve is on the lower end of of the cast. Her game plan is pretty straight forward - get a knockdown, lay a disc, do a 50:50, if it hits combo into another knockdown, if it's blocked get back to neutral and try to get another knockdown. Her combos also aren't too difficult execution wise. You just have to remember some character-specific timings, but for the most part you won't need difficult links or frcs. The hardest part about learning her is how to move around smartly so you can get the initial knockdown, because she hasn't got the best normals and rarely get's a knockdown off stray hits. Also converting random air to air hits into a knockdown is pretty hard at times, this is something you can only learn through experience.

214S land 6H guarantees a knockdown at greater heights where j.D wouldn't give you the knockdown, it's easier against some characters (Johnny -____-) and gives you the option for meaty disc setups (cancel 6H into disc instead of roll, disc) or secret garden oki (cancel 6H into 214H).

Why would you waste a burst for 600 extra damage in the first round in a combo that doesn't kill anyway? :/ I'm all for style but only if it doesn't result in an overall negative outcome.
-
That's alright, we can combo into it from anything now anyway. Getting some HnK Toki flavor :9

If you do it too late, the enemy can throw you during your recovery. If you do it on time and you are very close to them, they can also throw you since Millia has nothing with "real" throw invincibility. You can do something that's airborne though to avoid getting thrown - haircar and tk badmoon in particular are useful because you'll also mix them up.

Anyone knows what happened to Woshige? He appeared in Mikado vids pretty regularly in AC but since ACR got released, I've only seen him in a couple of vids of big tournaments only, and he seemed somewhat sloppy in them.

Millia vs. Eddie: Oh, you were blocking that? Too bad...
Rele replied to TGS's topic in Millia Matchups
Hey thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Thanks for the the tip with the late canceling, will try that out next time. I also noticed about myself that I always do j.s ad j.k-p-k with the same timing everytime because I'm afraid of getting thrown, effectively giving up mixup opportunities. Guess you're also right about pin usage. I still find it pretty hard to utilize it to its fullest potential. It's easy with something like iad pin, then go on from there, but it gets really paragraphed quickly and people start to dodge that easily. I also got in the habit of using it defensively a lot (like jump back pin to stop ground dashes), but that always leaves me in a pretty bad spot because I can't get knockdown and can't get it back easily. I guess that's one of those "awkward situations" you mentioned ^^''' -
Lvl4 Tempest does 900 at the end of combos and gives plenty of setup time, pretty awesome.

j.2c is an overhead again? Did I miss something? Goddamn I'm so rusty at BB, my combos look like CS1 Rachel damagewise :/
-
Fuzzy works on everyone if they block the first overhead string since they're standing (which makes the fuzzy work in the first place). The problem with 5B j.2DB dj.A-B-C is that the first j.B isn't easily hitconfirmable, and if they get hit and you jc anyway, your fuzzy string will whiff. Ideal fuzzy string on normal size chars would be 5B j.2DA-B dj.A-B-C. If you input j.A too late, you might be too low to get j.B out in time. If you have to delay because of Hazama, do j.A-A instead, since j.A comes out faster. You'll ruin proration even more though so opt for a short combo. For everything else, what Koopa said.
