New Valkyria Chronicles game! I guess they enjoy making me cry.

No E3 talk whatsoever? Rachel is not amused. Sure, it was not the greatest E3 ever, but there are plenty of talking points. Like this one, for example (since we are in the music games topic): SEGA are known for making the worst fucking decisions and alienating their own fanbase, and there's a little voice inside me which warns me not to fall for it, but even they can't be this assholish. Bringing an English-interfaced Project Diva to E3? How can you NOT release it in the west now? Still, never underestimate SEGA. They didn't get their reputation for nothing. Disclaimer: don't get me wrong, I love SEGA (especially after VC), but it's really hard to like them most of the time.

Sorry to rain on your parade fellas, but it was like 50% for me. 4 were spot on but 2 had a wrong bit and a right bit, 2 were flat out wrong and 1 was actually the exact opposite of how I feel. Not very impressed, overall.

@YukiBlue: I didn't recommend much because of 2 reasons. 1- I thought that suggesting a tidal wave of games would be overwhelming (especially RPGs). 2- Seriously, play VC2 and forget about everything else. Anyway, God Eater Burst is a pretty good Monster Hunter clone as far as I know. Corpse Party doesn't really match what you're looking for (J yes, RPG no), but it's quite the experience with headphones and in the dark. I can't believe I forgot about this one: Mana Khemia. A real hidden gem, I've heard it's best played on the PS2 (but I thoroughly enjoyed it on PSP, except maybe for Pamela's voice). I second TITS. There's also a buttload of JAPAN rhythm games if you're into that (3 Miku games, K-On, Taiko, DJMAX -which is actually KOREA but is pretty good-). But I must recommend Valkyria Chronicles 2 above all (sort of an SRPG, but encasing it in a genre doesn't really do it justice). That game led me to want VC1, which led me to buy a PS3 just to play it. Money well spent; it is now my all-time favourite game (and I've been around since the NES). While there are some spoilers if you play 2 before 1, I noticed they were pretty obvious and there wouldn't have been that shock factor anyway (save for one, I can't tell if it was only slightly hinted at or if I forgot about it). I find 1 to be superior in almost every aspect to 2, so I believe 2 then 1 is a better transition. Anyway, it is quite niche, but if it suits your tastes you're gonna love it.

You reap what you sow, I say. If you fill it with fanservice as a marketing device, there's bound to be people who look down on it for that. It's such a shame that more people can't find the interesting mechanics past all the sex appeal, though, since the small userbase hurts us players too. That's the beauty of it: it makes it sound not completely retarded.

Hey guys. I'm male, from the depths of the 3rd world (pretty much everything south of Texas, amirite?), soon I'll be 23 and to be perfectly honest I don't really play Rachel and don't really intend to learn how to play her properly, at least not for the time being. I'm quite new to fighting games, so I'd need some ground skills first for a character as complicated as her, wouldn't you agree? I don't usually play zoners, either. Regardless, BB is pretty much THE reason I got into fighting games (I'm digging AH3 more, though). -So why Rachel? Who knows... It felt incredible when I got a perfect round off my bro by keeping him out almost the entire time. But mainly because she just feels right. Y'know, that hard-to-explain click. I "main" Angelia in AH3, and they are definitely not similar playstyle-wise. Hang on, I'm starting to see a pattern here... -So why here (and not an AH3 forum)? Partly 'cos they lack activity, mostly 'cos I've been lurking the Sanctuary for a couple months and y'all seem like cool cats, so I thought to myself I'd keep doing that and also throwing in my couple o'cents every now and then. Oh ya, the name's so that everyone sounds all "mexican gangsta" when/if they call me. Should be fun :D
