  1. ok thanks, how easy it is to anti air with 5a? seems like it'd get raped by longer ranged attacks. I can't get out of the comfort zone of anti-airing with retreating aerial 5C, So that combo earlier that started with 3C (CH) with the low starter must be a counter hit. anyway frame traps or pressure techniques to bait someone to try and counter attack you at the wrong time to make something like this land? I know it's person based, but I'm just trying to understand my options. I tend to do pressure with just 2B,5B,2C,5C,3C,(occasional 6B when I'm sure they're crouching), and if they get pushed too far away I do 6C cancelled into something. Anyway to keep it going to try and open them up?
  2. Can't really explain why, I was hopping all over the roster, and was literally only playing for the story and would mash buttons. Despite the fact I play other fighting games and SC2 competitively. My drive for this game didn't start til recently when I found a few offline players in my area. The second I bought Mu-12, and messed around with her in challenge mode. For whatever reason I was hooked. I liked the range, on her normals, and zoning options is a plus.
  3. Thanks that explains a lot. I got some pretty decent corner combos. but i'm lacking in midscreen combos. Need to know max damage off of low and her overheads. The only combo's I've been landing is combos off of 6A, 1C, 6C, and her grab. I can combo off a raw j.2C I know once Chrono phantasma comes out, things will be changed. But I think trying to practice pretty hard in this game will carry over atleast a little. EDIt what's CH mean?
  4. I'm a bit new at trying to get good at this game and the lingo. I know the numbers are numpad related. So 66=Dash right? what is the colon for on :6b j. = jump? what would be the lingo for the down-up super jump then? again sorry if I'm asking a dumb question.
  5. At first it was only the story. (gag reels are my fav) but now it's both Story + Gameplay as I'm now trying to learn this game at a deep level.
  6. The first post was a great read. I just want to point out I agree. I'm actually only RECENTLY trying to get competitive in this game. I am someone who DOES travel to tournaments. I play MK9/SSBM when it comes to fighters and soon Injustice. I originally played and bought EVERY Blazblue, but I literally only played for the story. I liked the story and characters so much, but I didn't bother to get good. But that's becasue I put almost zero effort into understanding the mechanics. After watching some of the BB:CP gameplay and seeing all the movement. It reminds me of SSBM's freedom of movement and I've gotten more excited. I'm really good at space control in the games I play. Combo Execution is my curse. anyways point is. want to know why SSBM is making it to EVO this year? Not just because of the donations... the real reason is "They've been around and stuck to their game." So while all the old players stick around they gradually attract new players over time. Even with Brawl coming out, there was a SSBM black out. But then that ended up bringing EVEN MORE melee players to the SSBM side eventually. Time will grow this community. Another aspect like the OP said, is the online. Smash Brother Melee players don't have the luxury of online. so they MUST TRAVEL, and MUST BUILD A SCENE, in order to play. Blazblue players aren't forced to, so they get comfortable with what they got. Let me say this, I had ZERO Blazblue players here like no less than 5 months ago. Now I got 8 people interested in going competitive. and this is just my local area. Once I start running locals soon, it will just keep adding on. anyone can build a scene, you just gotta get off your ass and do it. I built the MK9 scene here as well. once you find ONE person who plays. You get their name and number and you plan to game/find new people.
  7. Thanks after my Starcraft 2 practice with my team I'm gonna practice some of these combos. If I'm having huge problems I'll be back, maybe with a video example since it's easier to spot my mistakes that way.
  8. Is the OP updated to the last version? or should I start reading from a certain page to get up to date combos?
  9. Well I'm growing the scene here with some new blood as well I've gotten 4 players practicing recently. It'd be nice to find some more interest. all it takes is a little advertisement kindness and consistent gathering to grow a scene.
  10. ok thanks for the heads up. I look forward to working with Mu-12 players and perhaps one day contributing some foresight myself. :D It was actually the hate on the recent CEO live stream that made me want to play this game. So many trolls on livestream making fun of eachothers games. This hate doesn't help the fighting community grow when we divide ourselves.
  11. After I learn some combos get familiar with the advanced play a bit i'll check in here for some advice. I got HD recording equipment. I just have a quick question. when someone says 6A and like 2C or something is it in realtion to the numpad? like 5A would be nuetral? and 3 is diagnal toward? assuming your facing left to right? If I'm wrong please explain I new here lol
  12. Hello I'm just getting into this game competitively. I was into it since Calamity trigger but mostly for the Storyline I think the storyline is awesome. But just recently I suddenly felt like taking it from casual to competitive. I already play competitively in other games Starcraft 2/SSBM/Mortal Kombat 9. But now I want to take up this mantle. Anyone in this thread around the Panhandle area? I live in Pensacola.
