Kinda, but its all about preference. I like octagonal gates better because you can feel the corners for the inputs.

I wanted a Japanese stick so here's my new one; Top: Bottom: Bought the stick off Poon from SRK, it wasn't in the greatest shape, so GunflaaaameBuri (thanks again) made it not suck. I was going to use some Touhou art, but the guy at Kinkos was being a douche. Yes, that is plexi on the bottom.

Can someone please explain the importance of frame data to me? How do I read it properly and make sense of it?
