i'll try it... got anything else?

just be careful when she has 50% tension. the jam player here will just RC it if he thinks it'll hit, and of course if it hits, you get combo or looped, then knocked down or dead... In fact, just be care when she has 50% tension period, cuz now that I realize it, jam players flat out RC anything, and it all leads to knockdown or loops... Also, worse than the 236k RC is the card that gives her the over head kick. 236k connects into the corner loop. I think it combos only on certain situations, but my issue is that it's still basically free... Oh well, like you said, at least she doesn't have the frc, it would be like an instant in your face and pressure for free super jesus teleport that lets her keep her jump options...

what can i say, gg is a game that rewards aggressiveness, and the players here play that way. when i clean up my robo game and give max damage off every hit/punishment, the scrub crap people do will stop. but until i get there, i'll take any and all general gameplay advice other than, "you need to combo dude" cuz combos don't matter if you can't hit your opponent, (plus, I already can combo with robo.)

j.d fdc mix-ups never really helped me out. There's lag after you do it, so you have to be a decent height to even attack out of it or you'll just land. Landing after a j.d fdc still gives you the landing lag from doing j.d which gets me thrown everytime. Without a landing/ground throw mix-up, j.d fdc simply gets blocked high and to be safe you have to dive before you hit the ground or frc a vcl. While it gives you something extra to play around with (especially with less than 25% tension,) j.d fdc doesn't seem to reward well enough for how unsafe it is. I-no just has better options, whenever you can j.d fdc.

hi, new robo here! had a question for you robo mains here. What exactly is my goal in battle as robo? I play I-no so I'm used to poking into combos on reaction. The rest of the match is basically free afterwards. Something like combo, knockdown, oki, rinse and repeat. It's pretty simplistic imo. Trying this with robo gets me raped. Trying to get tension gets me pressured. Poking doesn't get me decent combos or knockdowns, so that doesn't lead to tension. I really only shine when I play defensively. I IB well which gets me tons of free tension. That gets me knockdown (DAA or dp). Then I can oki and mat for tension. But that's not the style of play I see when I'm watching match vids. Also, I want to be SUPER aggressive with robo. Narrowing down the question even more, what does robo want more, tension, damage, or knockdown? Again, back to my first character. I like to be aggressive, so all I want is knockdown, (damage/combos are the goal of fighting games, but I like hitting/breaking guard and thats what I-no does for damage, so good for me!) It's kinda like I simply don't understand the robo meta-game. Can you guys give me advice on the general goals of the round. Finally, I'm guessing that it basically depends on the persons ability/style of play with robo. Aggressive robo's will play well with the more aggressive moves, while defensive robo's will make very efficient use of the IB tension gain. I want to know what is robo's most efficient style of play, (as the character himself.) Kind of like Marvel vs Capcom 2 storm, (she can be played well in almost any style, but her best or most efficient style is definately runaway.) I'd guess that he's some sort of battery character...

hi hi, i'm trying to get into robo. i really like the fact that robo can manipulate his opponent's aggressions. what i've managed to pull out so far is: using the mat to force defensive characters to become more aggressive, ie faust, baiken and eddie. using IB shorten riduculous corner pressure, ie venom and eddie, (robo DAA can feel broken sometimes.) abusing my newly aquired character's dp!!! and of course challenging people to games of chicken with that sexy dash attack!!! I started messing around with robo because of stormlocke's 10 min robo cm. I really just wanted to see if I could dizzy combo when I got bored. I got it down a couple of times against chipp. So I played some cpu matches against chipp to see how often I could get it off on a scrub, (It was gonna be my asshole move for tourney's.) Honestly, I sucked with robo and got raped. But, I had soooo much fun that I decided that I wanted to second him! I can combo through immitating match/combo vids, but my core game play with him is still scrubtastic. Laterz!!!

If you're ever in PA, send me a PM. We can get some games in. If you're going to evoworld, we can play there...

Thx, a funny thing that happens is: whenever I go out of town, I play people at all these unpopular games. So when I revisit them, I find that a small scene has popped up with people waiting for me. Harrisburg has a tech romancer scene now. Shippensburg gets down with gemfighter. Allentown has a bloody roar scene. West Virginia has my weapon lord players. Wilkes Barre plays tenkaichi. And my town lancaster, has some battle arena toshinden 3 players. So yeah, wherever I go, people want to get competitive over weird games. Idk, maybe I just make a good rival?
-
I play everything, litterally. Only games I don't play are imports because if japan doesn't have faith in america, I won't support them. Anyways, my schedule looks something like, get off work midnight, arcana lieselotte loop practice, arcade mode practice. Magento ROM practice, ssbb practice, than about three or four refreshers on some old games like bloody roar, budokai3, soul calibur and ect... I'm usually done at around 5 or 6. My I-no time was replaced by lieselotte. The practice is for our weekend gatherings, at therapest's house. He got third at C3 in guilty gear last weekend and fourth in 3S!!! I'll have to cut arcade mode in arcana to keep my I-no up to comp level around here. Thanks for the advice though. laterz! Love loli or die!!!
-
Uh oh, I'll never be any good if I keep neglecting I-no practice for Arcana Heart. But, it's sooo damn loli!!! How can you say no? Somebody help me!!!!

one of the worse thing for venom in this match-up is the fact that robo can DAA after a good 8 IB's. Personnally, just to be a jerk, I let my local venom player blow his tension on his blockstrings, than DAA to switch momentum...

Never played a chipp who I could keep up with. He's really fast. Supposedly you can air throw him out of his air teleport, but I never succeeded. If you can get a combo in, chipp is basically dead, but his AA can ruin your oki. Notes feel absolutely useless in this match-up. Teleports make notes pretty much useless and very punishable. Chipp runs alot and if you just poke at him, you'll eat a very long, boring and weak combo. It's really weird, it doesn't take much to take chipp down, but it takes a whole lot to catch him.

During approach Venom has an answer for everything, but his choices are limited when you jump in. FD his (i think it's 6h but I don't play venom) anti air normal and stuff his cancel with a stbt or 5k his face. He can keep you away very well if you stay grounded or well, low to the ground that is... f.s. works pretty well in the match-up, but it's not really something you should depend on, it just doesn't get you raped like in a vs jam match up. Getting cornered, Venom's pressure is soooo tight that this is the only match-up where I consistantly get slash back's in. If you are really confident, you can just let him corner you and slash back his ass for free damage. I discovered this after about 20 corner rapings. He has a TK FB for a mix-up, but even though it looks fast, after recieving it a couple time's you can block it on reaction, even better, the TK plus FB flash help slow it down enough to Slashback (HIGHLY DIFFICULT AND NOT RECOMMENDED) on reaction. But being on the recieving end is still a terrible thing and after enough abuse from me, the venom player switched to throws and I started getting wrecked again. To be honest, one day of playing just isn't enough for me to judge the match-up, but if I had to say something, it kept going back and forth. He'd get me a couple matches than I'd get him a couple matches and back and forth, soooo it looks like mind games played more here than tech skill and that usually mean a 5/5 match up...

Watch out for AA's during your oki's. Note goes through his AA sometimes. His slide attack is a really good approach becuase it hits I-no's dash, it's very fast and hard to block on reaction. Ky's mix-ups are pretty weak imo, on a day where I'm not dead beat from playing 8 hours, I can usually block everything he tries to throw at me, well, except for the occasional tick throw. On oki or lockdown it's best to just block low and wait till you see his dust or over head special. If you can instant block, ky will sometimes jump in and j.h. into his three hit projectile, IB the j.h. and you'll have enough time to escape just about which ever way you please, (which includes just comboing him) If you bait an AA, make sure that when you go to punish you watch out for his second attack, (it can hit you if you jump or mess up your timing on a normal that you wanted to hit with.) I like to punish with 6p for a ton of unporated damage, (if ky has tension, he'll most definately at least try to frc.) Ky combos never really bothered me because I usually take more damage just trying to make contact with him. Learning the combo with the 6p, 5h, TK Dive (H) or 5s into TK Dive (H) is a must because it does monsterous damage, in fact just comboing the tk dive (h) gives free rediculous damage, (but it only works in the corner.) Ky usually gets most of his damage when I get impatient and run in, (usually a premempitive strike into combo.) All in all, this match up doesn't seem to hard imo and I think that ky has to work harder than I-no for the damage. He can get your guard guage up, but it takes work and tension, while I-no just needs to hit him for a decent damaging combo. Keep in mind that most of my matches with ky don't last very long, and don't usually net a total of more than 75% tension for either of us and we also are not pros.

I never seen vids of you, I just seen you in person, I went to every evo last year. Hopefully I can catch you sooner or later before I move to california... Btw, do you consider yourself better now or then?
-
I've noticed that of all good I-no players, you knockdown the least. Yet in america, people say you are tops here... So what do you think is better, in other words, what should I go for more, Max damage or knockdown?
-
not a match vid, just what I remember from most of the evo matches, especially east... I think the matches I was talking about were at evo world... It was really interesting to me because you seemed to favor supers over combos very consistantly, I thought that maybe you weren't taking people seriously, but when I asked other standbyers, they said it was a tourney match and I thought, this guy either doesn't care or has amazing mind games... PS, I didn't witness a loss from you, but I left a couple times to play friendlies...
-
Hey mynusdono, why do you often opt to tech chase instead of finish combos. In like three matches I saw you play, I remember you not frc'ing anything. So I thought, maybe he can't do it, the very next match you pull out this 75% life CL combo on some eddie player for no apparent reason. And it's not casuals you do this in, I'm talking about tourney's.

anyway, what's the word on koichi? is he still an I-no player, did he ever switch to testa or robo? I've seen some vids of his robo, koichi is crazy as hell with whomever he plays as...

Well, we were pretty fresh to the match-up at the time, so maybe his danzai was off. I stuffed his regular danzai alot, (it could also be my playstyle) but his FB danzai owned me a couple times before I realized what was happening. Basically, once he had meter for the FB, I did the same thing I do with slayer and Jam. I don't really have much of a strategy other than dashing in purposely to bait it. Works well on lower skilled slayers, jams and abas. just abuse the fact that you can dash brake to be safe, or if you have the guts to attack, attack as you fall from your dash so you can block an FB. Sorry, but that's all I have for danzai.

Because you are an american I-no player that has been around for a while. Even though you may not feel you are the best, you have a ton of experience that I don't. I'm very sure that reguardless of your skill level, you can out perform many other I-nos simply because of your experience, (including me.)

I would love to see half the videos you put up, but my computer barely plays youtube as it is... 2002 ibook...

He's the only person around here with solid game, it's kinda just me and him. He still plays baiken, but now he's got a PO, a SL, and his VM is getting very serious... Two people don't make a gg scene, you know what I mean... Anyways, he goes to NY alot, (almost every weekend) I hope we can catch you sometime. I would really like to see how your I-no deals with certain things... Laterz!!!

Ok, than it is you and he just doesn't know your name... Anyway's like I said, do you play kevin? His gamer tag is therapest...

Chaz, as in flash metroid chaz? I asked if this so called chad person was him, and I got laughed at, apparently flash metroid is jam and this so called chad person is not the same person. When I play rapest again, I'll ask for some more details... Anyway, I'm confused as hell and if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, it's because everyone tell me something different. Anyway, do you play kevin (therapest)? I know he's from new york and seems to only want to play my I-no. If my common sense isn't failing me, it's probably because he's practicing up for you...
