As I said, unless Johnny 5 posts here, and Uri magically learns to drive, Knoxville is slim pickings for players, and the people here usually play Marvel, Tekken or SF. Including myself, I know of J5, Andrew Pope and Uri, and I can't speak for the others. Uri has stated that he can't drive so unless he finds a way, I might advise maybe giving more thought and care to the other areas.

Hey so I need to dual mod my stick and will be there for a bit in december. I was wondering if I bought the parts and brought them with me, if I could get my PS3 stick modded to work for Xbox 360 as well? If someone can tell me what parts I need and a quote for the work, I'd be most greatful/

So howdy folks. Due to circumstance of work and all things, I will be in the area for the 11th and 12th. Milln has agreed to host, but I'd love to meet up with everyone who is wanting to come out and get together since I wasn't able to make KOB. I've also got something pretty darn neat I'm bringing with me for everyone to check out.

So this is kinda the thing. It's a dumb kids game to us, but to Nintendo this is a multi-million dollar franchise. Also it's Nintendo, the friend codes Nintendo, the mini-disc Nintendo, the we're gonna run ad revenue on Let's Play Nintendo. When a store sells a game early, it's not so much as the game isn't legal, but they've broken contract with Nintendo saying that they will basically sell the game when Nintendo says they can start selling it. This for a game store usually means Nintendo withholding copies until either launch day or after to make sure that the game is sold on time. For someone like GameStop this is a big deal, and usually that entire store gets restaffed as a counter measure. For a local game store that is a death sentence especially if they are trying to legitimately compete with big box dealers. Just keep in mind that while the methods some people go to are a bit extreme, the people who bought the stock of games did sign an agreement and by breaking that they do so knowing the consequences.

Yeah apparently a few shops that broke street date have gotten a rep from Nintendo coming to say hi.

As someone who used to work games retail, chances are someplace that breaks street date probably bought stolen stock of a less than reputable "dealer". Not to mention, that shit is tracked. All it takes is you updating a system and it showing you first played a game before release date to get that shit noticed.

I plan on moving out that way here in six-ish months once my emt stuff is over and I wouldn't be against a weekly meet up. We have one hear, and part of my decision to move is the community there.
