The New England Thread: Bears Warbling Outside My Igloo: A Polarizing Dilemma

I was glad to see Paul as solid as ever at ECT. And Jeremy... You, sir, having been putting in work on P4A -- presuming some other Mindgame didn't infiltrate the tournament. Good stuff, guys. -

I will be watching WB via St1ckbug's channel. Looks like Persona is up first. Good luck, guys! -

Just give me advance notice. I'm assuming that you mean our usual casuals sessions, which should be no problem. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you my mobile number. -

Bus? Take Metro North's Harlem line from Grand Central to Southeast for, like, $12.50. That's how I commute to Manhattan. I'll pick you up and drive you to casuals. -

Sorry that I missed casuals. Saturday is the only day I'm guaranteed to be able to talk to the chefs/managers of potential employers. Now that I have successfully blanketed the state in resumes, though, I should be good-to-go for our next meeting. -

The owner of the bakery called me to say that they couldn't afford a part-time baker right now. I am a part-time baker, so the news, which was a complete reversal from what I'd been lead to believe since December, caught me off guard and threw a rather large wrench into my plan for the year. I ended up on the highway driving much farther than I originally intended, somewhat lost in thought. Definitely should have called, though. Apologies. -

PS2. I may still have the Dreamcast converter, too. -

CC's input buffer issues become harder and harder for me to tolerate as I continue to learn Melty. Maybe that's just me, though. Random: Mindgam3, I found my old custom stick with a MAS-style bat-top, stiff springs, and a P360. It's yours if you want to play around with it. It's been collecting dust for nearly a decade. -

Yeah, all of my tattoos are by the same artist. Found him through a friend who used to live in the Twin Cities, so I would see him when I went to see her. It's much more complicated now because he books-up, like, six months in advance. And it's hard to afford a tattoo and a plane ticket when I'm paid in chicken feed. This time I just saved for a long time and got three tattoos over the three days I was there -- which, I should add for posterity, is a little intense. -

I went to Minneapolis for a few days to get new ink and all I could think about was playing Melty. And while I remember exactly how much different playing real people was from grinding out execution in the lab with other games, I have been practicing. Timing issues are (mostly) gone. Now I just need to catch a few hundred beatdowns to bring back my fundamentals (esp. learning how to block) and tighten everything up. Definitely psyched to play again. -

I went through all of my boxes to check if I had one of the missing cords. No dice. Also, the only people that I saw using pads were Katz and Tale's friend Johnny, but Katz's was (translucent?) green. Tales, see if your friend is missing a pad? -

Since I'm new to this, what time do we get started? Also, Ash, let me know if you can't find a ride. Wolcott is not at all on the way, but I'm willing to make the trip if need be. Just remember that I will definitely not be staying all night, so your ride back, if with me, would be early. -

I'm willing to play taxi to a limited extent, though I may not be able to stay for the duration. (I usually wake up at 4am and go to bed ~8. Staying up all night would probably be a bad plan -- not that it's stopped me in the past.) Mindgam3, can I fire you a PM for the address? -

Not at all. -
I am having so much fun with this game that I may split my (very limited) free time between only it and AH3 -- at least until there's more news on a console release of UNiB. (Thanks for putting CC on my radar, Katz.)

When I'm drunk I think that I'm better at everything. Whether or not you actually are better at GG when you're drunk is something we should build an experiment around. It would be fun to watch. Aside: +1 for using enui. -

Yeah, I used Play-Asia. Still waiting for the code, but that's probably for the best considering I have to wake up at 4am for work. Installing CC now would more than likely result with me going without any appreciable sleep tonight. -

I was literally about to walk out of my house to buy Extend when I decided to finally Google WTF Chaos Code was. Now I'm trying to figure out how to open an HK PSN account so that I can buy it. Good stuff. -

Good options at that. I've been trying to get and play MB for years, so it would be wicked to see it in action. I'd basically given up on that ever happening and instead turned my attention toward UNiB -- which I'm very excited for. AH3 is a lot of fun, too, though I've only played it once or twice. Man, this is going to be rad. -

By virtue of the sum of a number of events in my professional life that none of you care about, I no longer work on Saturdays. This means that I can attend casuals if there's room. I haven't even turned my PS3 on since the start of the holiday crush in November, but getting blown up doesn't bother me; I'm used to it by now. I've heard that P4U is dead and people are gearing up for BB:CP. If that's the case, I'll drop thirty bucks on Extend and try to get a basic understanding of the series and its system. Any help in that department would be appreciated. Shoutouts to pastry for giving me a personal life again. -

Every two weeks I wonder about the chances of lightning striking the restaurant and giving me the night off to attend casuals. Really. -

Working two jobs and six days a week is not helping my double Maragi combo execution. I've also discovered that I've forgotten how to block (well) during my extended absence. Humble pie indeed. Aside: I think Katz won the signature game when he slid his new one in a week or so ago.
