  1. Never been able to get into GGXX before because of the lack of online play. I'm very glad that this will be able to rectify that.
  2. I'm confident that all the Murakumos will at least make it in as unlockable console characters, like Kliff and Justice until GGXXAC+R.
  3. I've mentioned this before, but I'm betting that Hilda is a Time Release character, and will be made playable after a certain date or along with a balance patch. Obviously she will be greatly nerfed from her boss version.
  4. I feel the need to mention that these add a good deal of input lag. I considered using one with my 360 stick on the PS3, but backed out once I learned of this. Mayflash did recently come out with a PS3 > 360 adapter that does not require a legit 360 controller to be plugged in, though.
  5. Aksys is the American publishing branch of Arc System Works. I was referring to the game being published in Japan, though. ASW previously handled the console releases of Ecole's Arcana Heart 3.
  6. Right now the game looks like the Japanese equivalent of MvC3, sadly. Combos regularly knocking off close to half HP or even more, stringing from very quick and long-range attacks, with multiple OTGs in many. In its current state, I think people will tire of it quickly. The update had better make some big changes. Latest Twitter response says they're interested in bringing the game overseas. I think they should concentrate on getting that rumored PS3 version out in Japan first, because we can import it. Probably no hope for a 360 or PC release. Since this is Ecole, Arc System Works will surely handle consumer publishing.
  7. Some people have been complaining to the game's Twitter page about the overpowered characters; their responses are highly indicative of a future balance update. Combos could absolutely stand to be shortened. Capcom fighter players like to rag on BB for its overly drawn-out combos, but this has it beaten by a mile. That combo of Merkava's where he repeatedly OTGs them with the same move string several times is just ridiculous. I think this game has massive potential, but could have used a bit more time in the oven before setting it loose. I am wondering if Hilda is a time-release character, or if she will simply remain a non-playable boss.
  8. Fair enough. But the correct way to do it would have been to write "VGChartz estimates that...". I've seen a few localization companies (Atlus and XSeed) complain about just how off the mark VGC has been from the real sales figures of their games, which they typically don't disclose.
  9. I was hoping to be finally done with this discussion, but I guess I need to explain that most everything on VGChartz is an estimate. It may be based on publisher statements and Famitsu sales figure releases, or it may have been made up on the spot by some guy based on how popular a particular game seems to be. You don't know. (It also doesn't take into account digital sales.) They've been responsible for the spread of so much misinformation that NeoGAF doesn't allow the posting of VGC sales figures. Citing them as fact makes you look lazy and stupid, like putting Wikipedia in the bibliography of a school essay.
  10. I hope you didn't get those from VGChartz.
  11. I think niche game publishers in general would be more willing to put out their stuff on 360 if they could do more limited print runs. Unfortunately Microsoft has a strict minimum of the number of copies every retail release needs to have manufactured, while Sony doesn't care. And then there's utter greedy nonsense, like MS demanding a fee of $40,000 for every game patch released on Xbox Live. If Sony charges anything at all, it's far less than that. I am curious how well the handheld versions of BB have sold. They seem like throwing money down the drain to me, but ASW went ahead with them anyway (five times, across three platforms!). Who really cares about miniaturized versions of fighting games that can not be played with proper controls, and require two matching copies and systems for multiplayer? They even released a double pack with the PSP versions of both CS2 and CSEX: what's the point, when Extend is a replacement for CS2? A single 360 release seems like a pittance compared to all of these. Edit: Saw this on the back of BBCSEX PSP's box art, and laughed.
  12. For vanilla Continuum Shift (1 cab): http://www.pinballwizardarcade.com/ Pinball Wizard 150 Bridge Street (Rt. 38), Unit P Pelham NH Last I was there, the cab was running Abobo's Big Adventure. I believe that was a temporary thing. The button layout is nonstandard; they have D where A should go.
  13. Porting anything from Type-X2 to 360 is easy as cake. They're both PC-based systems running Win XP Embedded. As countless inferior versions of multiplatform games will attest, porting most anything to PS3 is not a simple matter. So ASW's decision to focus on it is purely marketing.
  14. Uhh... And don't tell me "that's the Japanese release," because neither the Resident Evil HD double pack nor Deathsmiles 2 have ever been available at retail in the US, and they still made it onto Games on Demand here.
  15. Microsoft has never made it public. It would seem to be that your game has to have already been released at retail in some region, but not necessarily the region you want to publish it digitally in. AH3 would have fit that criteria. Anyway, I just bought a cheapo PS3 stick as insurance. I should be able to mod it with better parts, and I already wanted one for other non-fighting PS3 games anyway. Modding my 360 stick to support both platforms would carry the risk of messing up and bricking it.
