Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel
Komidol replied to ivanchu77's topic in Misc Fighter Central
N+ Blasters is pretty much everything I ever wanted Aquapazza to be. If you've ever played Eternal Fighter Zero, it's got similar blocking system, but having multiple assists make it very true to an Examu background. To make a painful generalization, I'd say it's like EFZ and Aquapazza put together but on crack. The system is very fast, which I really appreciate as a former Melty Blood player. If you're really hype for Saya, she's a very interesting character but pretty slow...It's like playing Aoko (Melty Blood) with long normals but at Nero speeds with fast teleports. Anyway it's got everything a fighting game needs to be fun and interesting, so I would definitely give it a try. -

DMM is pretty much the most sue-happy money-grubbing company in all of Japan, so since they own Kankolle rights if this were to ever happen it would involve tremendous amounts of money and royalty payments, which means, it probably won't happen. You're much more likely to get a kankolle fighting game all on its own. In terms of censorship, it has a lot more to do with Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) than it does with the games, the cultural expectations, the localization companies, or American law. Even though games like Saya no Uta were released in the United States, they were released on PC, meaning they didn't need to comply in any significant way with rules or regulations or the now-much-stronger ESRB in the way a console version are now required to do. It is actually very possible to escape the adult connections of the game's source material. The worst the publishers may do is change sprites with skirts blowing in the wind showing panties, to sprites with blowing skirts in the wind. Pretty much every character in the game is arguably 18+ fictionally speaking, especially when you consider to other ps2/ps3 releases. As a publisher or localizer, Xseed or any other company that publishes their game on Sony, it is by definition not an 18+ nor an adult game, so even if there is some mild "PR risk", their stockholders/payment processors/bank rates won't see any negative consequences. Having played Nitroplus Blasters, I see it will have close to no issues with publishing, as Sony will probably accept it with an ESRB rating of Teen with Animated Blood, Fantasy Violence, Sexual Content, and Suggestive Themes. If it would receive a Mature rating or stronger versions of these limitations, the publisher will likely ask the original developer to change it as mentioned above so it will receive a Teen rating so it can sell better. -
Yeah, the game was just fully released into English yesterday here: http://www.playism-games.com/games/inahodynamite/ I did some of the testing at Playism for this game. Made sure the page has all the character charts translated and game mechanic translations. Let me know if you want similar games like this done in English in the future or tweet https://twitter.com/playismen - they're good guys. They'll be at PAX Boston if you wanna talk to them yourselves.

Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION Gameplay Discussion Thread
Komidol replied to Setsuna's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Dengeki Bunko System Mechanics Here's a combination of things I've learned about the game system. Wrote this up while drinking a beer after a long day. A lot of this is thanks to help and conversations with kubo. I tried to highlight in blue the real game-breaking shit and bold generally important things for those with no attention span. Basically, DFC is, of course, a young game. Knowing the system is the most important part of this game. This is what I learned from over $200 of arcade games so you don't have to. Hopefully ww I'll try to make this a good read, since I know 95% of people who read this can't play the game yet. This is what's -happening- in the game. So you know why people do shit like relentelessly reflect guard assists and why they always go for power blast first. Basics/Foundation --What are the buttons? Basic game mechanics? Trump cards? What are climax arts/climax skills? Bloody hell is the grab button? Extend?! Reflect guarding???? Here I'll condense what we can learn from Setsuna's first post, as if you saw that chart and were about to sit down in an arcade and play it for the first time. You can skip this part if you're familiar already. The game works on 4 buttons, A, B, C, and D. These are layed out in a typical fighting game format (no persona bullshit). D is your assist button. A+B is your climax skills. B+C are your climax arts. A+C is your trumpcard (kirifuda - the littler dengeki symbols on the bottom right). Charging moves is done by holding down buttons. They're called "extends". Climax skills have a variety of special properties for each character. Most climax skills have super armor attached to them. Generally speaking, most characters 4(A+B) is an overhead. 2(A+B) is some sort of extremely short range move with a lot of super armor that will generally beat most normals (or is a counter). (A+B) is a ground rush move. This is what makes Dengeki different from other fighting games. Most moves don't have invincibility frames except for some climax arts and trump cards. There is no "DP" in this game. That's what makes it interesting and sets it apart. Reversals and defeating some things in neutrals depends on effective use of your (often punishable on block) climax skills. The combo system goes A -> B -> C -> Climax Skills -> Climax Arts. You can't break this system while comboing, unless you use a combo-blast, in which you can break this chain for that combo only. (More on that later.) You can perform grabs by inputting 6+C, or 4+C while next to an opponent. It is important to realize that if your opponent is in block stun, even by an assist, your grab won't come out (you'll get 5C and probably get punished). Reflect Guarding is done by inputting any two combination of buttons (I reccommend A+B) while in guard stun. You can use reflect guard on your opponents assists and it will push your opponent away. You can see Setsuna's write up for more specific system information, such as the potentials for each character (their passive traits and how to unlock them.) Blasts In this game blasts are plentiful. I personally find the meter management to be very difficult in this game. In one round you can see 3/4 blasts happen. First off, there are three kinds of blasts in this game. If you have low health, the blast bar recharges even faster. -Power Blast- You use power blast in neutral. A+B+C You gain one full meter just for using power blast. If power blast hits your opponent you'll gain another entire meter bar. Power blast can be used as a reversal as long as you're not being hit. It's fully invincible. It's sort of like "heat" in melty blood. If you do get hit during activation though, it'll turn into an escape blast (like a burst). You can't follow up on this, the recovery is too long. If your opponent blocks the power blast you activate, you're at a frame disadvantage. You gain "Power Up" In "Power Up" - You gain a little bit of health. Your defense goes up. Your damage goes up. Power blast restores your meter VERY quickly over time. Jesus christ. Potentials for every character can be found on Setsuna's post. Those benefits can be stacked with power up. -Escape Blast- You can use it while in hit or guard stun. A+B+C Using escape blast takes the longest amount of time to recover for your next potential blast. It's the standard, I'm in hit stun or being combo'd, get off me. If your opponent is high HP, and you are low HP, it's worth it to sometimes lose a round if you have no meter. It's really bad. The shockwave from Escape Blast is guardable. The escape blast comes out the fastest. Power blast and Combo Blast come out a bit slower. -Combo Blast- You can activate this while doing a combo. A+B+C You gain one meter for using combo blast. The combo blast can knock your opponent into the wall for a wall bounce. It's fully invincible. The hit is untechable. Blast gauge recovers pretty fast. If you fuck up and drop your combo on the hit you combo blast and your opponent blocks it, it's -probably- safe. Apparently this happened once, but I haven't tested it personally. As mentioned above, you can break your A->B->C...chain and pretty much do whatever your want. The extra meter usually allows for a low-prorated climax arts finish. Reflect Guarding (Any two button combination while in guard stun.) -It takes 10% guage to use if you have more health than your opponent. -It takes no meter to use if you have less health than your opponent. -You can reflect your opponent's assist and it pushed back the opposing player (possibly a bug). Trump Cards A+C Trump cards (I like to call them dengekis - after the electric symbol on the bottom right) are limited to a maximum of 2. If you have less than two, if you lose a round you gain one back. They're different for every character. Most are invincible, mode changes, or cancels. You'll notice a little bar recharge after you use one. This is the best bar ever. During the time of that bar: All your normals become jump cancellable. You break combo chaining norms, just like combo blast. Cancelling into your support costs no guage at all. The animation for calling your assist does not exist. (Possibly a bug.) You can call for your assist in the air. Trump cards have a second use - they can be activated during your Climax Arts. They'll increase the damage of your climax art. For the kill. ======================== Well, I wrote this up hoping to generate some interest from long-time veterans of fg's to get willing to give this game a try/help people understand decisions people make in videos a little bit more. I think the game has the right characters to bring in new blood, and despite it's presentation, has the simplicity and complexity to be a popular game for all kinds of players. Gladly will teach/play if anyone is in Japan or wants to visit. French Bread will be doing a stream soon, so hopefully they'll announce a PS3 version of this game. #whensDFC -

Kirino, Shizuo, Kirito I don't know much about, no one in my arcade uses them at a decent-enough level. But let me tell you why Kuroyukihime is bullshit. This bitch just controls the screen anywhere. Anywhere. You literally can't approach her when she has her assist available. You have to block her assist before you can even try to get in. Then, you have to worry about her 3/4 screen bullshit that eats you in the air or ground. Then she has offensive burst if you get close, then it's try again. Okay blocking again this fucking assist, okay, now I'm going in, okay I got clipped, eat a fuckton of damage, okay, fuck I didn't see the assist, eat a fuckton of damage, okay, I'm going in, block the assist, okay I made some headway, okay, I'm in, oh shit this bitch has a counter fuck, gotta bait that, okay, block the assist, make some space, okay she bursted again, okay block the assist, make some space again, go in, bait the counter, oh shit I just ate a trump card to the face, fuck, okay...block the assist, make some space, fuck got clipped, eat a fuckton of damage gg. Asuna, Tomoka, and Shana are good, they feel fairish... Asuna has good confirms and her 2(A+B) makes a lot of what would be difficult matchups simple. Shana is main-character tier. She has all the good fighting game moves and can do anything strong and simple at any angle. She's easy to use, and gets a lot of high damage easy confirms. She just needs some proration fixing. Tomoka just has good zoning and good rush attacks. It's not so much that she's godlike, but more that she's a matchup you just need to learn. -

here's what I figured out with Misaka week1 neutral: ground: 2AB, 5C, j.{C} antiair: AB dengeki: A+C fully invincible, tons of damage, can use for grab combo combo theory: on the ground: stuff>AB>214AB>C>6A>Assist, etcetc in the air: stuff>j.C>214AB>C>6A>Assist, etcetc 2 meter: whatever>railgun if you just remember that your foundation will be fine; everything else is easy to figure out if you've played frenchbread fighters before she doesn't have anything really godlike, just decent damage and railgun can confirm from like everything, The Shana Army™ has better matchups, easier to use -
Nadakai is on the right track, JP community would definitely be willing to help set this up if you said you're bringing 20 players over for an event. I know the right people in the Japanese MB community who could help you with setting up a tournament at Game Center Mikado (ミカド) as well. I could talk to them when I go to Tokyo next month to see what you'd need. They're pretty good with stream setups. If you want a GG tournament that's the best place for sure. I'm pretty sure Mikado has the widest array of different games in Tokyo. Run a Waseda-format team tournament IN Waseda~!

I just wanted to add, I played it up for jokes a bit but poverty plane tickets/lodging not that bad. If you travel light, one modest suitcase, you can stay in manga cafes or capsule hotels and they're quite nice. I actually regretted getting a hotel when I took a trip to Kyoto once because I just have so much fun at these things. A shitty plane will body you, but just schedule to get there 2 days before the event (you should do this incase of flight delay anyway), and you'll finally be out of jetlag state for the event. I think for people who are thrifty spenders and don't know any Japanese you should really aim for atleast 2500, but to be completely honest if you're a smart person and don't go into culture shock...you can really lay out a decent 1-week vacation for $2200 and have a great time. I'd just set your cut off at 2000 to be honest. A lot of the cost is variable on what plane tickets you can find. Be on the look out for plane discounts. One time Delta put out a deal for 830$ round trip to and from Tokyo last August...that would save you over 500$, right? It's all about saving on the plane tickets and lodging if you're tight on cash. Once you actually get here, nothing is too expensive, assuming you're not the type to burn through 500$ in one weekend.

Here's how a trip to Japan breaks down cost-wise. So let's assume you're going to go to Japan for one week. You're not going to spend all that money on plane tickets for just 2 days right? Didn't think so. Here's some real numbers for you guys. Using American Dollars. The exchange rate at this post is 98 yen = 1 dollar. This is what you'd need for a one-week trip to Japan. Key: P - Poverty; A - Average; B - Baller Plane Tickets: P: 1365 A: 1700 B: 2200 Food: P: 80 A: 200 B: 300 Train Tickets: P: 80 A: 120 B: 300 Arcade: P: 50 A: 100 B: 200 Lodging: P: 180 A: (350) B: 800 Other: P: 50 A: 100 B: 300 Poverty build gets you flying delta, getting bodied by the flight, enough for one meal a day, 50 games at the arcade (~10 losses/day), enough to crash at a manga cafe/capsule hotel for 6 hours every night, and to and from the arcade area. Not much to say here. I wouldn't recommend only doing this much unless you know some Japanese, you've gone to Japan before, and you know how to manage your money very well. You /might/ get a keychain or some shit. Average build gets you flying ANA, covers inter-subway travel in Tokyo, gets you 2 meals a day, a solid 100+ games at the arcade (~20 losses/day), and buys you some anime stuff and doujinshi you never knew existed about your waifu, and covers your ass if you don't any Japanese and need to take a taxi or something. The lodging will get you a hotel to dump all your shit if you can split with somebody (if not double lodging price and recalculate). Most people will want this, and want to go in on it together. Baller build gets you sippin' wine on some first-class rig, a one-week train pass to go wherever the fuck you please, enough money to pay for you and your friends games, bitches at roppongi, a hotel with a built in onsen, and three gdlk meals a day. Keep in mind, this doesn't budget anything else. The other section is more to cover extra expenses. If you want to goto maid cafes, or take a trip to Akihabara and buy a dakimakura, or get some whores, you need to include an entertainment budget for yourself. For one week I would take /at least/ 250$ for an entertainment budget. Also, you can obviously take from each column and build your own budget. Cheap plane tickets and an expensive hotel would be a different budget. Finally, budget based on how much Japanese you know. Add up your totals and multiply by 1.05 (5%) if you're great at JP, 1.10(10%) if you know some JP, and 1.15(15%) if you don't know any Japanese at all. This additional percentage covers you for mistakes you'll definitely make. If you just go straight down the columns the totals come out like this, but I'd make your own budget and leave some breathing room. Poverty-Trip: $1985.50 #mbaa :lordknight: Average: $2827.00 #japan :st1ckbug: Ballin': $4510.00 + doesn't even give a shit #rokyubu Bottomline: Aim for $2500 and look for plane ticket deals/people to share lodging with. No entertainment, no other budget, you're godlike at JP, you know how to handle yourself, eat light, you get a good deal on tickets...you could do it for ~1800$ but don't count on it.

Do you mind if I come by? I don't have any setups where I'm currently living but I wouldn't mind learning some GG since the new one is coming out. Also would be a good opportunity to see some people in the fgc I never got a chance to meet, and see some old friends before I leave for Japan next month. If it's alright just PM me with where it is, and when we gotta leave your place tonight.
