  1. Then tutorial is the must. Or at least there should be a lot of contents for casuals to enjoy; contents that let's you naturally get comfortable with the mechanics.
  2. I knew someone would point that out. It is an excuse, but I'm using the free editor which won't let me seek 1/60 seconds at a time and I had to put some delays for some combos, which needed to replicate the recipe in the trailer. Besides it is only off by few frames at the worst, and there have been tweaks on startups and attack levels before so we can expect the usual speed of the game we used to. That said, I am going to improve on this video soon.
  3. The slow feel some people are having is only because of those cut scenes. Surprisingly, almost all of those combos are very similar in terms of frames and how they cancel out to another.
  4. I'm not really complaining about the overall damage. I just personally liked inflicting damage from dustloop itself. For instance, in +R a combo against Sol like "throw>dash J.HD>J.HD>c.S>HJ.SHD>lvl2.BRP" only does 125 damage while in AC+ it does 146 damage.
  5. No, the combo after fafnir works because enemy is launched in the air. That's why I mentioned +2 extra untechable frame of 5H and 5H being a better anti-air in +R than before. I was refering to a combo like lvl2BHB(AC)>dash c.S>J.HD>J.HD>BRPlvl2(knockdown). lvl2BHB's wallstick time is long enough to AC and continue your combo as long as you are close to your opponent.
  6. I got my hands on +R and tried out OS for few months so here is my impression. I know damage isn't the most important thing in combos, but some of his combo starters got extra prorate, which bothers me. His grab(40%), Gunblaze(85%), and JHS(I don't know the exact number) are his moves that got weakened as combo parts. As a lot of you may know his charge meter got improved so there are some possibility that his combo can extend further. His 5HS has more untechable time (+2) which can be used like fafnir>dash 2S>5HS>lvl2BRP(knockdown). For this reason 5HS can be more useful as an anti-air. Speaking of BRP, the air version now have 37F of untechable frames which guarantees knockdown from pretty much every combos. Not to mention slower depletion of Charge meter gives you enough time for that lvl2 BRP. Another highlight is lvl2 BHB where it makes your opponent wall-stick for D loop which can result into damage of 165. Don't get me wrong though I'm rather happy about the changes since there are things that can compensate for his additional prorates. I just miss the feeling of getting damage from D loop and now the damage is coming more from his special attacks. He also feels even more dependent on Charge meter than ever, and I think AC OS had that balance between usage of normals and specials when you wanted to extend damage.
  7. Based on the matchups, do you guys think knowing your opponents is important for HOS more so than the other characters? If so how much should I know about them to win as HOS? For instance, do I have to know their general attack patterns to instant block?
  8. Is this the best forum site to ask for advice? I uploaded some matchup videos so people can help me based on their assessment, but so far only two people have commented and one of them hasn't watched the matchup thoroughly. The other guy has done his best but his English sucks. If you know a better place to go ask for advice, please let me know.
  9. I only have the PS2 version, and my friend won't come until this weekend so you'd have to wait. If you want to see me play the Arcade mode or Vs. CPU mode I can take some footage for either of them but I don't suppose neither are going to be a good representation of my skill and style.
  10. I've been using HOS in GGXXAC+ for well over 2 years, but my friend, who taught me how to play GG, still beats me like I'm a noob. His analysis of my fighting style is that both of my offensive and defensive strategy are lackluster. In terms of offensive strategy I seem to lack pressure and variation so he can do whatever he wants. The only things he fears are my corner HS>D combo from my grab, JHS, anti-air JP, and Fafnir. When I try to defend I can't determine when to act and I often times resort to risky moves like grab or SV on reversal because I don't know what else to do. The only things I'm good at are techniques like GB crossups, and various combos. Thing is though HOS's attack reach is limited which also limits my opportunity to make a situation to do any of these. Oddly, I do come close to beating him often times, but if he regains his turn I suddenly become unable to recover from his attacks and end up losing. To make this worse it doesn't matter which character he uses. I lose 90 percent of the time with any match-up against him.
