Hey guys! I'm trying something exciting for some of the east coast netplayers out there. Im a round robin league where each week some players will face off round robin style and accumulate points and win prizes (mostly monetary). I'm trying to gauge interest for this so please if you would like to be a part of this register! http://goo.gl/forms/ByLvDroN3a I will most likely tweet out each week who the players will be and of course stream it at Twitch.Tv/PsychoDM

Im looking into this more from a faust perspective than a ky. Small thing i noticed with kisha catching stun dipper punish with 236S (pogo). I know a lot of kys like to try to go under f.s with it so it's something I have to catch on to with Faust.
-
This one is mad interesting. Its Kiisha vs Ain but with inputs on. I want to focus on that aspect this time around.

It's been a hectic couple of days after being stranded in Jersey Sunday night so sorry this is late! Here is a new video for us to analyze! I chose this one because it's a match up many of us hate and we can learn a lot from it. Machaboo vs Susume

Whens it safe to escape sol pressure? I keep finding myself trying to jump out and getting caught on the way up or getting DPd while i swim in the air,.
-
5p might be to time when to do Oki. Although i don't think it helps much.
-
I noticed how GOOD he is at 6P ing Inos approach and resets. (More so 5H with reset even if it trades.) Ive been practicing that with Faust lately. When Ino is doing her thing, when she touches the floor I kind of just assume shes gonna dash - press button soon after so I mash 6p-h. Obviously this can be blown up if done wrong but more often than not I get an anti air.

2:51 Nage opens up with round start j.H then drill. I really liked this because it covers two options (jump and opening up with an attack). I do think he jumped a little high though. This would have also gotten blown up if millia just stood still and blocked. (Like keeponrockin said) 3:00~ i talked about this with others and I think it's interesting. He mashes 2s in very weird (at least to me) places. You see he catches Millia when she rushes in and tries to 2K. Millia will do this often vs Faust because she can run under far slash and 41236K. 5:27 I cant stress how sexy that was. Blocking haircar then 2D? Oof. So smart. Wasn't even an IB I think. Good thing to keep in mind. Sidenote #1 I'm seeing how important it is to keep air control vs Millia. You don't want her to freely jump around. Nage is constantly either 2K or 6P ing to every time she tries an air approach. 6:32 If you don't know your corner Bomb/Spring/Gravity etc etc combos, here's a good reason why. Look at that damage Sidenote #2 This is actually good advice for any character not just vs Millia. Neutral YRC is GODLIKE for your anti airs. He does it often when Millia super jumps. You YRC and react to whatever she's doing. Nage does this often and responds with an 6P or j.H. It's really good and I don't think enough newer/intermediate players use it. IT SLOWS DOWN TIME. Perfect for dealing with millia and chipp. 8:05 Instant blocking swallow moon and disk was very smart. He used this create just enough of an opening to grab and close the round. Last round 6P 6P 6P 6P 6P I wasn't joking when I said you have to shut Millia down when she tries to air approach. But there were also instances when he ran up and 6P'd this leads to a lot of damage on counter hit and can be cancelled with item toss. Very good set showing how to fight Millia. He played everything very textbook and used all of his tools to effectively shut Millia down before she ran her game.

We definitely HAVE to discuss this one. Machaboo at Arc Revo grand finals. I can't find a youtube video so if anyone can find one and link it thatd be great. http://www.twitch.tv/mr_biscuits/v/11025229 Discuss! I haven't gotten to watch it yet but I will during my break.
-
A lot of times I saw Ain purposely reset instead of trying to oki and be in Sol's range. (1:07:40). I don't think I'm brave enough for this for fear of folding but I think that kind of patience is something I may need. After the super he just started walking backwards. He had the lead so why not? That's something I have to drill into my head to do. You see it vs Hase too. Once he has the lead he becomes really defensive.
-
Took note of that empty YRC after air tech. Definitely could help in certain matchups. 6HS, 2P, 2K, (SLIGHT DELAY) Split Seal. <--thats pretty interesting I wonder if you get the same affect from 6k-delay-split ciel. Could definitely open up people trying to mash/jump out.
-
Agreed! Id add more to the sol discussion but I havent gotten to watch it completely. I did like how you said he let Mugen hang himself. I feel like its something not many newer kys (myself included) do. Its what leads to us folding.
-
Ah thats a similar idea to something melee players do called dash dancing. I didnt think that would be applicable here. I took a closer look and it seems like he backdashes every time they try to jump in. Id imagine the invul time from the backdash gives you time to think a bit and maybe stick out a 6a. You can see Hase read them though and caught him. Also shoutouts to that cute escape from pressure at 17:07. Thst was fast
-
Ill start this off. I noticed against hase especially he did a lot of backdashes. I spoke with other Kys about it and they attributed this to being a style that older Ky players use. Im curious if this is actually working in his favor or if hes needlessly back dashing.

I want to try something new with the Ky boards so hear me out a bit. We're always watching these videos and sort of discussing it with 1 or 2 other Ky mains. I want to start a weekly thread to analyze these videos together and see what the Ky player did. I want to bring to light techniques that they used that are beneficial to all Kys as well as some things that didn't help them at all. This first week I want to bring attention to matches between Ain and Hase (Slayer) and Ain and Mugen (Sol) I think group analyzing is a good way for all of us to level up together and start discussions and hopefully you guys step up! :]

Hey Guys! Shinobi hosted a Ky workshop with several Ky players. The goal was to work together with them to help improve their game both fundamentally and pinpointing important things about Ky. Here is the archive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCe4HKVjKlk&index=15&list=PL9h4zqks3pogGEAAqQfa-fw0Gg2GDEjkM Feel free to discuss anything that confused you. This is a great watch for any Ky player!

My favorite idea was the grid idea mentioned by someone before zissou i think. Plus I like the idea of a MatchUp Grid.

"Time to Make History" Dustloop Revamp Community Effort #1

This is more about the actual articles on the front page: I love that we are getting more active with the front page. That's great but the articles themselves are kind of...bland? Even though there may not be much to say, it should like there is some effort being put into them. For example the DFC Localization article: SRK: http://shoryuken.com/2015/07/29/dengeki-bunko-fighting-climax-finally-arrives-in-north-america-on-october-6/ DL: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php/page/index.html/_/home/dengeki-bunko-fighting-climax-release-date-r502 See what I mean? SRK not only put a banner, they talked about the game, developer, and the limited edition goodies that will come with it. There's a lot of articles right now on the front page that just seem like the writers saw a tweet and put a title on it and called it a news article. I don't mean to offend anyone, I just think it looks unprofessional. Some suggestions: 1.An image never really hurts the article 2. If posting a link to a blog or evernote write up, highlight 1 or 2 important points in the actually DL article rather than just linking. 3. Proper grammar (I'm not good at this so someone else can suggest resources?) I hope this helps. -

With good mods shitposting and harrassment (at least on the boards) can be kept to a minimum. But it still comes down to the users -

Removing the front page wouldnt be a bad idea. I think smashboards is kind of what I'd like to see these boards become. Even the dead character boards have good moderators that take care of it. Smashcapps also does a great job keeping the front page going with 1-2 articles a day. Theres many articles we can do weekly like a "This weekend in tournaments" followed by a Results post on monday. Like everyones saying, a communitg effort is what we need to push this. -

Psycho replied to huey253's topic in Site Feedback and Suggestions
No one uses the front page because there's nothing there. When you tell a new person to check out dustloop the first thing they see is the front page not the character specific forum. I think it all stems down to having capable and dedicated mods. If we fix that first then the rest will slowly fall into place -

I am free most weekday nights to help with the front page if you'd. I won't be able to write mega insightful articles but I can share / highlight what I find. It's not much but I do want to see the site do well and fixing the front page should be the first step. -

[CPEX] Blazblue: Chronophantasma Extend News and Gameplay Discussion 3.0
Psycho replied to Anne's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Jin is ok. I feel like as I dig into him more itll be more fun right now it seems very...straightforward? Even more-so than CP. Plat on the other hand is fun as hell. I'm not crazy good with her just yet but it's a blast. But some matchups are really annoying with her (Jin, Ragna, Haz). Great game ^_^
