So I saw the playerlist and there are a bunch of international attendants. Below are a request and a suggestion -Would anyone be willing to split a room somewhere? Further, would the out of towners generally be willing to coordinate to stay at the same place? We could probably get a better value than the hostels listed, which are quite expensive, by splitting cheap hotel rooms. I realize a lot of you guys are coming with friends from your country, so I'm also kinda asking if I can integrate with you guys as I'm coming alone. As written below, coordinating the out of towners in the same cheap hotel would also allow an after-party/casuals. -If this thread isn't a place that attendants are really looking at (since there's a dedicated website and most of you are locals) can we get some kind of dedicated correspondance going for forming up groups to save money on board? If we could coordinate people staying in the same place I'd also be down to try and get some setups + casuals going after the event at a hotel, at the expense of bringing some stuff from Poland. Of course that'd also mean locals could join up and play more somewhere after the event. For all intents and purposes I'd say we desperate EU anime games are flying to London to binge-game, so why stop at 22:00!? The nature of EU events feels pretty different from US (where I'm from) because they're not at hotels and everyone seems to just go home at night. It'd be nice to hang out more and have something to do besides just the daytime tourney if I'm planning fly to London and pay (the most I've ever heard of someone paying for a hostel) to sleep there. I'm used to half the fun of tournies being after the tourney! Of course after writing all that, I realized that since I don't play BB, I might not really have that many people to play with anyway depending on the popularity of UNIEL/P4/GG. So uh, I'd like to ask how UNIEL is doing in UK to reevaluate my reason for being there lol.

is there somewhere that says how to do oki setplay > combo > oki setplay? it seems really difficult to combo from H tandem > badmoon or even 6k for me depending on character. what mixup options are combo-able with H tandem and with which combos? obviously the FB is pretty free to combo from

EU might be in attendance

i'll prob come play p4a2/gg+r/uniel if i have a friend in town or someone is willing to lend me a couch. 30 pounds a night is a lot vs my $ to play in games that from the monthlies, i presume UK isn't really into also it seems xrd is pretty sure not to be out by then

teddie extended midscreen bnb is 5aa (delayed)5b iad ja 2b (sjb jd or ja jab jd) i haven't kept up with teddie for like 4 months, not sure what his optimal corner combo off raged 5c is at max range. try getting in 5b > tv> missile > combo extension. should at least work on ch. also, 5c naturally combos into 2c. if you omc the 5c you could probably run up 5b sj (immediate) jc (while falling>) jba 5b 5c 2b sjb which is the normal corner combo. regardless, the 1.5+k you get from 5c 2c is pretty nice considering you did no work to get it.
-
yeah as stated above, you can't block while in rage. so combos that end by putting the opponent in rage make for unblockable oki in the corner. your 5c/jc are no risk, high damage ways for you to capitalize on this as 5c/jc corner oki are pretty much unavoidable except by reversal/roll which you can punish
-
Symm: teddie setups 101: end 5aa 2b combo with sjb jd for item oki. leaves you with an airdash for retreat or rushdown. if you're on ice, you can do crossup oki. if you're on barrel crossup away. you might be able to end any corner combo in sjb jd if you have muscle drink coming up for rage oki, i don't remember. otherwise there's definitely a specific combo that hits them with the drink. they wake up and get raged; hit them! there are combos that throw extra items away so you can cycle through to more useful ones. there are also corner combos that you can end in sb teddie puppet, which induces rage status. anytime you get someone to block barrel or meteors when you have awakening super- your awakening super is unblockable. if they block it does over 3k, if they get hit by the item first it'll do around 1300-1500 (taking the hit is a legitimate answer). this was a month 1 thing that you don't see anymore, probably because the damage isn't worth 50 meter if they take the item hit. i've also seen someone literally just counterhit grab, omc (throwing them into the corner) and unblockable super (coming in from that corner) which combo'd. what you read about might have been item specific combos that end in unblockable for crazy amounts of damage, but these are super situational and rather difficult so they should be the last thing you learn. i've seen them done maybe 3 times in jp matchvids, and dropped 2 of those times. i don't think you're gonna find good setups/tech written out plainly somewhere because only a few people know it well and probably enjoy people not knowing what's going on. it's all in jp matchvids though ofc

hey are any of you guys willing to try a netplay connection with me this weekend in the afternoon or late night? we'll probably get a yellow connection. i can play akihiko and kanji at similar levels; hungry for some games with people who actually have fg experience, and i think most of those players in the eu are from UK
-
what constitutes pretty big? i was thinking of attending a UK tourney if there was one big enough to help justify a flight
-
i'll be in the US for july/aug and volunteer some EU akihiko/kanji action. preferably after i win evo
-
Dear EU: Please invite me to your private netplay rooms ! =3 i'll be on this weekend and most days thereafter
-
please invite me to your private netplay rooms =3 (but after this friday, exam lockdown><) also my observation of slab, she's quite good and if you learn her setplay/neutral setup tech properly you can breeze your way through most of an american tournament. chie IS retarded but her optimal hitconfirms/execution aren't easy; 95% of chie players will never learn them. it's month 1 and it took america a good 3-4 months to learn how to properly play neutral and get intermediate tech going with most of the characters, so i'd say there's not much point in getting flustered about matchups at such an incomplete state of development. unless you play liz/kanji. and it's gonna be pretty unforgivable to hear the whole "kanji's too good" spiel again, though i don't see many divemasters on netplay yet
-
are any of you guys netplaying yet? i often see tantalizing 2 bar rooms that are restricted to 3&4 bar. i suspect these are UK rooms and would really like to at least try to play in them. since i suspect that most eu players are from UK and will be yellow bar with me (poland), it is a saddening prospect if most of the UK players are playing 3+ only><. even in USA, most players are willing to play 2 bar if the connection is stable

Hey i'll be getting there on wednesday just for P4U. will anyone be there on thursday to play/have setups? I can at least bring a copy of the game. i know it's really hard to get in contact with people at the event/find out where people are playing if you're not already "in" since it often takes place in rooms. i'd really like to get casuals in before tournament but worst case scenario i can get rich at the casino instead. also, does anyone need a room on wednesday night? i'm arriving then and if nobody already has one/is interested i'll have to get my own regardless.
