  1. So she's finally getting a DP?
  2. Nope. Illinois, which is why I said it's strange.
  3. Well, GGs to Kyuji1 for the times I've played him. One of the smoothest connections I've had the pleasure to experience. Don't think I've played many Dustloop players though, but GGs CurseSword. Good Ragna as usual. Wish I could say GG to iRHokage but that was some of the worst lag I've ever encountered from an American player (Oh, Canadian. maybe that explains it. Have had bad connections with some Canadian players in the past. It's strange. I think Tesnolgic and Ratix08 are a few of the exceptions). No idea what was up with that. Oh well, maybe we can try playing some other time.
  4. The lack of Ragna and Jin players is surprising. Also, Izayoi. I can't really bring myself to play any of my old characters anymore after having tried her out. She might be a bit underwhelming but it's so satisfying winning with her.
  5. Probably just distance. Interestingly, I have smoother matches with him than with you a lot of the time. Nice to see that the online community is still somewhat alive, or at least it seems to be whenever I go online.
  6. Good games. I was pleasantly surprised. Sorry about that BKR, but the lag was killing me.
  7. "If my first comment came off as baseless, exaggerated, and trollish then it would be safe to assume that the followup would be more of the same, right? Both of my comments were written to goad you into replying as you did with your last post. I was just curious to see what you'd say, even if it was obvious what my intentions were. I will admit that I didn't expect such a large response." I think that adequately explains what I was going for. If someone still thinks that I was being completely serious after reading all of my posts then I don't really know what to say to them.
  8. I'm actually surprised that you took the time to write all of that for me, but I never really had the intention of replying seriously to your posts, however, you did bring up some things that I want to address. Before I do so, I want to say this: If my first comment came off as baseless, exaggerated, and trollish then it would be safe to assume that the followup would be more of the same, right? Both of my comments were written to goad you into replying as you did with your last post. I was just curious to see what you'd say, even if it was obvious what my intentions were. I will admit that I didn't expect such a large response. Moving on to the things I'd like to discuss with: "Easy to play =/= Easy to win with." I think I understand this concept pretty well. It's actually something that we've gone over many times. Thinking back to our conversations I clearly remember saying something close to what you are saying now. My thoughts on this were: Just because a character is execution heavy/more difficult to play it doesn't mean that they're harder to win with. Pretty much reiterating your words here. "You have also proclaimed on numerous occasions that the characters that you use are not easy to use." At no point did I ever say this. I'm certain that even you know that I didn't say this. What I actually DID say on numerous occasions is that just because my characters are easier to use (Execution wise) than yours, it in no way means that I also have an easier time winning. Amusingly enough, it's pretty much what you just told me. As for the personal experience thing: Believe it or not, I actually get nervous when I play Valkenhayn against you, so I end up just fumbling around. I think if you ask other members of the board they'll agree that I can usually redbeat pretty optimized combos. I'm not a fantastic Valkenhayn player, but I can give most players a decent match. It's pretty rare when I deplete my meter, unless I make a big mistake, which again, almost never happens. "As for the whole 'Combos aren't everything' remark, how did you envision my response? Did you think that I would say something along the lines of 'Oh my god Safros, thank you for opening my eyes; this is such a monumental revelation! Combos aren't everything! This is so profound and enlightening, who would have thought! You have uncovered one of the great FG mysteries!'" This is exactly what I envisioned, albeit with less sarcasm. Oh well, it will have to do. Well, I wasn't planning on saying much, I just wanted to get a reaction from you... Oh well, it was fun anyway. I should thank you for taking the time to write all that; it was a nice read.
  9. I wanted to see what you'd reply, to be honest. I see no irony though. I don't recall ever bragging about using a "hard character" or about being able to decimate everyone. I recall mentioning something about effort at higher level play though. Actually, what I really meant to say was that I think that Valkenhayn works so well for you because of the fact that he can control the pacing of a match so much. This is especially true against Tager (as everyone knows). Valkenhayn's wolf form makes it possible to approach the enemy at a moments notice. This doesn't make his neutral game easy, just that in good hands he should almost always be in control of the match because of his mobility. What I find funny is that after having played your Litchi, Rachel, and Hakumen quite a few times (And having recorded plenty of matches) I can't seem to shake a feeling that your neutral game is severely lacking with anyone that isn't Valkenhayn. This is especially true with Rachel. You may be able to combo very well (Something no one will deny), however your approaches are always awkward or just don't work. Her playstyle is just so much at odds with the way that you play that it really is amusing seeing you try to play Rachel in neutral. I don't know if you're just too used to the way Valkenhayn plays or if you just don't understand how to play neutral in general. I guess what I'm really getting at is that you strike me as a player who puts far more effort into combos than to actually learning a character's neutral game. The fact that approaching and spacing with Valkenhayn almost becomes a non issue for a competent player is why I think he works so well with you. In other words, from what I've played I doubt I'll ever see you get to the point where your Rachel becomes anywhere near competent anytime soon. I think Ratix summed it up best. "Combos aren't everything." As I've said before: I could be proven wrong, but considering how many times I've played you and how you seem to have such an automated playstyle (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since it works very well with Valkenhayn), I have my doubts. To be honest, I think the biggest problem that you might have is that to play with Rachel you have to constantly adapt to your opponent's playstyle and act accordingly to his actions, something that you've shown plenty of times that you are incapable of. (Consistently bursting at the worst moment possible and getting punished for it, repeatedly falling for the same setups/strategies, and your perpetual habit of refusing to change up tactics even if it's pretty clear they don't work) Well, I think that's it. I'll be sure to let you know if something else comes to mind.
  10. Considering that you're finally using a character with a hard neutral game that you can't go autopilot on... I'm inclined to think that it's not happening anytime soon. I could be proven wrong though. I will admit that I am guilty of picking up Valkenhayn for easy wins, so I can't fault you for that IF that is what you did too. Oh, and good games Huicho and KH2_Sora.
  11. Every time I got caught in one of your bug combos I thought to myself: "Well, I'm gonna be here for a while and I doubt I'm getting out alive. I might as well complain about Arakune's broken damage to Ratix while I'm waiting." Of course, it was all in good fun. I had only met two Arakune's who could do insane damage online off of everything, and I think you just solidified yourself as the new third person. Well, good games.
  12. I'd like Hazama if he didn't sound mentally challenged. Relius on the other hand has an amazing voice and more than makes up for the disappointment that was Hazama. Relius is without a doubt the best thing about BlazBlue. Even his bad ending was a good ending for him... Clearly the man is unstoppable. Not only has he proven to be able to defeat the Six Heroes, he is also a classy gentleman. Anyway; Good games BrooklynBull, KH2Sora, xDarkEdgex, rraaarrrr12, BigLag_54kbps, and whoever else joined the room earlier.
  13. ... this thread got really weird really quick. Anyway, I don't want to be off topic so good games rraaarrrr12. I think we have easily had over 1000 matches at this point.
  14. The "Please check room name" was me wondering why you started to lag after a very smooth first match. Then after that I found that I dropped a lot of combos (The Litchi vs Tager one was a big one. Normally I would have been able to finish the match with the heat that I had but as you clearly saw I mistimed my inputs so badly that I simply stood there doing nothing.) Of course, I drop combos every once in a while, but not to that degree, so after playing against you and the others a few times to make sure that it wasn't me who was lagging I decided to kick you out. You're free to join again sometime though. Like I said, the first match was fine, but it almost seemed as if the matches were getting progressively laggier. Also, before anyone assumes that it was a rage kick on my part (Tesno); I did win the last match I played against DarkAssassin333. There's a difference between a rage kick and kicking someone out because of a reason that you feel is valid that not only affects the way you play but also lessens the enjoyment that comes from facing someone. So I didn't lose and simply decide to kick a player out. I always give more importance to how I played (If I feel like I played to the best of my abilities it doesn't really matter what the outcome is since I'll be having fun regardless of that) than to winning or losing. Oh. And Good games. I was surprised to see how much you were instant blocking.
  15. Yes. After 4PM I start to lag at the most random times, so I usually only play with people who I'm in a party with and just derp around.
  16. Good games SkyeVeran, DaichiEli, and Ratix08. I had fun. It was also funny to see those random derp moments that we all made.
  17. No mention of Relius' jump B? You're losing it.
  18. Alright, that makes sense. I plan on either maining Relius or Nu in CP. Well, I guess I'll wait and see what others have to say.
  19. Well, I guess we're still somewhat on topic since we are trying to find some matches. You wouldn't use your main? Or is Carl your new main?
  20. I'd say we have around 10 people who post somewhat frequently, and maybe another 10 who just lurk. I also like the pairing idea. I feel that it would make things a lot more interesting.
  21. A small tournament would be nice but someone should probably lay down some rules before anyone can decide on whether to participate or not. Assuming that there are enough people interested in the idea.
  22. To be fair I hadn't used Relius all day up until that point. I suppose lag was a factor at times too but it affected both of us so it's not really a viable complaint. Good games, it was fun. Tesno. I normally don't drop those combos anymore. Don't know why I was dropping those today. I still don't understand why you don't use Rachel's pumpkin though. You just bring it out... and then it just sits there. It can be an excellent deterrent to your opponent's approach. Well, regardless of that, good games. Same to CanineV2.
  23. To be fair, I did confuse you and Hi_Pichu. Well, good games everyone. I do remember some games though, but I also played a lot of Hazama's back then, incuding Blackwing's Hazama and NarukamiV's Hazama.
  24. I was in a party with him.
  25. Good games, Canine, Ratix, and one other guy I can't remember. It was very interesting fighting with Ratix's colorful commentary in my ear. It was a lot of fun though. I am curious as to why you didn't use your main though.
