some nicovideo comments of note: "DOGURA KITAAAAAAA" "Dogura + Inoue? That's cheating!" "With Dogura, this is essentially 2 on 1" and a bazillion "TOO STRONG"

I'm gonna second Honnou's advice. I know it's not cool when people tell you to do less of something you enjoy, but from the sound of it, it's having serious side-effects on your health. My cousin passed away this month from a preventable medical condition, so the least you should do is see a doctor and have a check-up.

Read up on Eddie's move-list. One thing I can tell you is that his normals make it tricky to get play footsies with him, and his "mawaru" is escape-able between the first and 2nd hits if he doesn't hit you with 2k in between.

Neither was I. But when I went through the trouble of being able to recognize moves by how they look it resulted in an overall improvement for me.

Guilty Gear FAQ Thread - Ask your questions here!

5p>2s is a very useful gatling. however, as far as I know 5p>5k and 5k>5p are links that work both ways. -
You're more likely to learn the combo if you can figure out what it is on your own. Learning combos by seeing them is a valuable skill, especially in this era where you can go to youtube and find out what today's robos are combo-ing.

Thanks, that made my day.

I'm having trouble keeping TK missile in my repertoire. Some matches, i can do it 100% of the time, other matches 0%. I've mostly learnt to do it by feeling around, and doing a quick 268S input. Does anyone have any helpful tips on how to get it down pat?
-
if he does it wrong you can 2k under it, maybe...but he'll probably be timing it so it hits. Just making some guesses, but you could pre-empt it with 2HS or tk missiles, maybe. I might just IB it and wait for other opportunities to counter.

Do I detect some animosity? isa is a tier whore, though.

I'm unique in how I deal with my "rage" in that instead of getting mad like some people, I vent my frustration by demanding many re-matches, even if I lose all but one of those games. Sometimes it works against me though, because I don't allow myself a lot of time to think about what I could be doing differently...

haha, that's adorable dude. Good luck with your plans, hopefully marriage is simply "cohabiting with benefits."

yeah, great stuff Honnou. I like I-no combos, and you were doin them pretty consistently. I also have 2 requests: -everyone brush up on your slayer matchups so people always gotta be srs -get yourself a robo player k

Look, don't get me wrong. There is a *small* possibility that Axl turned into Raven at some point in the "future." However, given the information we've been given I'm just saying that there is little reason to get too attached to that idea. If you wanna know what I think, I have a hunch that Raven is from a parallel universe or something, and is Axl's parallel existence. For them to occupy the same dimension, they naturally repel each other along the time line rather than across different streams...and this is all somehow Axl's fault, but probably by accident. Anyway, my theory assumes quite a lot about Ishiwatari's GG universe, and until more of Axl's past (and future) are revealed it's grasping at straws.
-
They're on youtube already, should be in the more recent search results for a-cho
-
Axl's X2 Story Mode, actually. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irC0zmkkDBk I don't know why you think there'd be any light shed on the issue in GG2, since I don't think Axl is even mentioned. I could be wrong, though.
-
All we really know is that Raven and Axl repel each other on the timeline for some reason, and that it's supposedly a future Axl's fault (according to That Man). However, future Axl also says that it's all gonna work out in the end, so yeah. I for one don't believe that Axl and Raven are the same person, I think it's more of an "evil twin" dealie.

Bring back Axl's old sound byte for Ra-SHOU-SEN! YES!

This is getting even further off-topic, but GG already has more than one boobie lady.

It means you stopped trying to have fun with fighting games and started trying to get good at them. Invest in your experience; understand the game you're playing. For example: Don't look up frame data because it's a term "good" players throw around, look it up because you have hunches about how the game itself works. Don't get good at a game because you want to beat everyone, get good at it because you love it.

Articles about zoning, proper strategies for 'footsies', etc.
vedasisme replied to Arvoyea's topic in Guilty Gear General
You're both right, but I think you're talking about different layers of gameplay. Also, I'm against the idea that you can't learn footsies until you can block and combo. The fact that GG has double jumps and air cancels simply means that the air is now a viable place for zoning and turtling. In that sense, learning about footsies and zoning is a good idea, but I can appreciate the sentiment that many of the ideas in the articles are simply not applicable to GG. -
Guilty Gear is NOT like other fighting games that utilize a groove system. (A close example is Melty Blood Actress Again, that sports multiple movesets for each character) Although you have other game/character modes available, they are just for fun, and officially they are unavailable for competitive play. You'll find that people will scoff at you if you want to main an ex-character, for example. This is not without good reason.

vedasisme replied to Arvoyea's topic in Guilty Gear General
I think that despite the slight differences incurred because of GG's game mechanics, we ought to know about these strategies. Just because there is an existing air game doesn't mean ground footies go away. There is simply a new layer added. If you jump carelessly in GG, you don't just have to worry about typical anti-air moves (although shoryuken still works very well). You can run under an aerial opponent, or you can air-throw them (this shit is TK'd all the time). -
The recent Dogura matches at a-cho have proven that he is constantly learning and applying new things to his game. Unfortunately, it has also established that he's not very good at losing. He keeps demanding rematches! Kind of like me, I guess. In this case though, I wouldn't want to learn from his example, haha.
