Alright, the main thing about people 'rejecting anime games' in the FGC is due mostly in part that a good deal of people who are ambassadors to their selective games are... well, obscenely weeaboo that people can't help but think, 'What the hell is going on with their thought process right now?' That's generally about it. If you make an effort to get to know people, play games with everyone and just not keep to yourself so much no one will have a problem with you. I'm gonna be completely honest and say that the biggest gripe with anime players is that they all just kinda stay within their own clique of people, (IE other anime players), and everyone just assumes that they don't want anything to do them, so, in return they won't want anything to do with you. Just be sociable, don't come off as flamboyantly weeb and no one will have a problem with you. Goddamn, at least everyone in the fucking state watches anime whether they like to admit or not, they're just more closeted about it. Gus, (he's gotten 9th place at Evo in AE, competed in Japan in SBO, and is an all-around good fighting game player), fucking loves P4U and is REALLY, REALLY GOOD at it. Obviously, if you met him, he wouldn't seem like someone who would be, but looks are deceiving. TL;DR: Come to the events, make friends with people, play and enjoy your game and don't come off as 'That Guy That Plays Anime Fighters and Thinks We're All Fucking Normies Just Because We Poke Jabs at Anime'. Everyone is nice when you get to know them and no one is going to bully you.

Everyone is great to talk to, you just got to throw yourself out there! And he never really said that, he said that he wanted the main focus to be SF, everything else like casuals, side tourneys, etc. are all still fair game!

What part of 'casuals, side tournaments, money matches or whatever' do you guys not understand? Obviously SF is going to be the main stay because there's more people who play it, but just because there's going to be SF as the big tourney bringer doesn't mean that ya'll can't come down and do some of what John mentioned. Like, fuckin' Christ, you don't even have to play the goddamn Capcom fighters.

Importing is easy, but expect to wait a while unless you want that fast as hell shipping. I imported DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou and Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 recently, and ended up waiting almost a month for them to get to my place since I chose 'super slow' shipping.

Found a guy at Weber who plays Guilty Gear, he's on Facebook as 'Viet Nguyen' in the 801 UTAH FGC group. I'll make sure to mention DustLoop to him next time I see him or something.
