I seriously hope they patch the online play. An ol' wily vet like me expects so much more from the game I love and the online lag is a great injustice. Speaking of ol school players i got to play against Genius(lagged to shit) and MarlinPie(decent connect). I plan on getting this on Xbox(70%chance), but the xbox pad makes me want to punch a dog in the face while it's wearing a satellite. Regardless im still salty to losin to MarlinPie in two very winnable matches. I gotta get back in shape more mentally than anything. Losing matches to wake up supers in fighting game age is sad. On a +r note ill be usin either Dizzy, Faust, Kliff, or Slayer. Volpe: Baiken is a high risk/mid reward character and just like her personality she is straight forward and blunt. She has one of the lowest health ratings in the game, but she is very floaty making it very difficult for some characters to do full combos on her and has the 2nd highest GUTS rating in the game which lets her "survive" longer as well. Screwy aint it. She has built in alpha counters, but you must know when/which counter to use in the right situation or take a hard punish. Does high damage but is very meter dependent and you must and I mean you MUST be able to convert any hit to 25-70% dmg. A majority of her normal are weak but j.s is arguably one of the best air/air air/ground moves in the game. 6p 214k(counter) tk 623s are your anti airs but 6p has very lil invincibility frames. Therefore, you are usually better off blocking and choosing the right alpha counter for the situation. Her Oki/Mixup game sucks. On wake up you should really only be droppin tatami mats on their head and do your "mixup" of tk623s, DUST which is a guaranteed 50-65% on entire cast meter-less if i remember correctly , and 2k/2d which has i think 70% proration if they are the first hit in combo. 63214k is a auto run that eats hits without taking dmg and she can alpha counter from it as well. 41236s is a long range poke that you can catch people off guard with because it pulls them in and you can combo from it from the follow up or if they dont mash outta stagger fast enough. She has a alpha counter super that can put a curse on opponent and bind a button. 236236s super has a lot of invincibility frames and does decent dmg. 236k aka tatami mat is your most prized possession. It is your best combo starter, extender, and tool to continue pressure strings. If you wanna zone this is also what you will use to create a wall between you and your opponent. If they are dumb enough(and I MEAN DUMB) to get hit by one they can kiss 45-damn near 90% life based on position and meter with the combo that this once great site derives it's name from. Eh let me stop i could write a book on my journey with this character. If you need more details just let me know and i gladly give them to you. Oh baiken better matchups are against Johnny, Anji, Eddie, I-no, A.B.A Her worst matchups are against Axl, Dizzy, Jam, Sol, Faust, Testament Edit: I let the gear encyclopedia explain Faust and chime in if he missed somethin that im to tired to remember at the moment. Jams parry is easy just 46 it's very practical because of burst cancel in which you buffer a burst to get added frames of invincibility and I wouldn't advise usin it on dark angel unless it's for combo vid purposes or you want to lose 30% life and get mixed up and corner raped With sol you are gonna wanna pressure your opponent into doin something stupid. You will need good fundamentals and balls to be tourney viable. In other words don't do what me shinblade and kusoru do with him and you will be fine. For HOS/SOL advice hopefully titanium beast will start playin gg again he can tell you EVERYTHING you need to know how sol/hos is "supposed" to be played

1st off i wanna say asking about gameplay/character specific details is all fine and dandy but you wont learn shit and the shit you thought you learned aint shit until you play against someone. Dont believe me ask Tad/Phil how they felt about the game before/after they played me. Guilty Gear is not your run in mill game of 09-current. As crazy as it sounds you will bleed, sweat, cry, rage, and also have uncontrollable joy, happiness, satisfaction, and a zen like moment when you connect with this game. I do hope that you new players to gear are strong minded individuals and learn quickly how much time you will have to dedicate just to be an average to above average player. i look forward to meeting and playing you all some day and build a strong relationship like i have with those whom took my mantle in TN(Im comin back for my shit btw in the next 3-4months> ) until then happy gaming!!!
