[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
Ajantas replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Was the first one they use the Imperator voice announcer (the one after Rachel one)? cause it didn't leave much of an impression on me, then Celica voice announcer "Hakuman-san", captured my heart AND my wallet. -

Still have yet to make my JP PSN account. Got my JP Friend's Address and everything ready just can't be bothered to register yet. Hopefully the VA announcers pack have pictures cause I can't read a lick of Japanese, maybe if I see an Azrael one I will buy it unless Bullet's VA makes the best sound pack ever in the possible near future!? I mean didn't he win that competition to have an announcer pack for arcade? -

From what I can see, like Sphinx say burst gains charges when you get hit. That round Ragna was doing more complete combos but he was getting hit by stray hits and incomplete combos (bar the final DD combo), so I assume cause of this Ragna gave Noel more burst charge than Noel did just cause of how the damage was dealt through-out the match. -
Thanks, I thought it would be difficult to find but its fairly close to the train station, and I am competent enough to at least get to a train station.

Oh well, I guess I'll find out in 6 days anyway. No need to provoke the Arc Cops for a game being release next week. -

Well IGN gave it like 5.8 and Gamespot a 5. But I think its all vindictive for us to start badmouthing on Sonic Lost World just cause Famitsu gave it a better score than Blazblue:CP. I am certain that people who were originally looking to play BB:CP aren't going to read the Famitsu review and go "Damn, I SHOULD be playing Sonic Lost World instead!" Some sonic fans play the new sonic games with rose tinted glasses, others play it with dissonance and spite, whilst some just play it free of preconceived notions and judge the game on its own merits/demerits. Though to get back on topic a bit, wasn't there meant to be a game demo with Terumi available to promote the game and get pre-orders, I thought this would have been finished by now if not starting soon. Is there any footage of that? or was there strict rules. I keep reading things on this board and I can never find the comment/post again. -
Does anyone know where I could get this? I mean I am in Japan (Tokyo) during November for a 18days and wondering if they will stock these in normal bookstores or will I have to go to more specialised stores in and around Tokyo. I think if I am there I might as well pick up a few copies for my friends in the UK, a lot easier than importing. Also, that Noel artwork, hot damn... that ass!

The only thing I find weird is the way the BBCP announcer says 'Terumi' when you select him, the high emphasis on the RU just urks me somehow. At least it was better than the direction they took with BBCExtend which used Taokaka's VA as the default announcer, that was by far for me the worst one out of the lot they made. -

Considering that I use my UK debit card sometimes whilst I am working in Thailand. My experience with using debit cards in stores abroad is that you get charged in the native currency, but your bank then slaps you with their stupid exchange rates which are not near the 'actual' exchange rate so you sort of lose some money in the process. So say if the exchange rate of USD:Yen is currently 98.7 per USD, you might end up only getting 97.3 per USD from your bank. For small transactions it isn't so bad (you might lose a dollar or two). -
Knowing both the animation studio's track record and some of Blazblue's gallery I assume they going to have an episode or two dedicated to fanservice and women groping each other... ANYWAY, I want to see what I cover in the series. I never read those Phase Shift books and it would be interested if they cover those during the anime, I mean it sounds like an important enough back story and I want to see the Six Heroes doing their thing (probably Hakumen being a Dick to everyone).

I wonder how you can get the gifs to be small in file size relative to quality and picture size, I had to tinker so much with mine. Maybe it is because I had 17 pictures to animate.

Dengeki FIGHTING CLIMAX: Announced at TGS.
Ajantas replied to InWithTheAshes's topic in Misc Fighter Central
I guess based on the track record of French Bread, UNiB (Undernight In-Birth) in which the few initial iterations had very long combos and some did low damage but took 15-20seconds to complete just to waste time. Now with the changes to UNiB I guess they are in the impression that its better to start with having underwhelming damage so if any crazy tech comes out like in UNiB it doesn't result in uncontrollable damage from combos. I feel like UNiB's latest iteration is looking very good but I can't help but feel that the game has its name tarnished from the run it had earlier this year. They most likely trying to not do the same thing with this game. -

I remember reading something about the first set of colours being unlockable similar to Extend or CS2 for portable consoles (I think it might be colours 7-11?) whilst the rest 12-16 are DLC purchase (1-6 is free). -
Dengeki FIGHTING CLIMAX: Announced at TGS.

To be fair this is what I think might be the "downfall" for the game for me (and maybe more). Cause they have only shown they are willing to add one character for fighting and one for assist from a series, which makes perfect sense considering how many series they could include in the game. But at the same time this popularity poll decision making could be alienating for potential buyers by making itself become nothing more than fan-wank material. I don't want it to become a my waifu from anime-x beat your waifu from anime-y, sort of game, but maybe I just don't understand the Japanese market AT ALL. -
My gripe with going into Arcade Stick at the moment apart from the whole learning to use it properly (at one point I was using too much force and my hands/wrist get tired after about 2-3 games) and execution (takes time to relearn what you sort of already can do), is that I have to start identifying the double/triple button presses properly. For me a throw is my L1 and a barrier block / assault (whatever its called) is R1 etc etc. When it starts becoming throw is B+C and barrier is A+B, Rapid is A+B+C it sorts of somehow swamps my head a bit. I remember trying to get into P4A but there were just not enough buttons to map on a controller so I have to leaving throws and EX Persona moves unlisted and by god I had a terrible time pressing the B+C on the controller for throwing.

Its weird I am use to getting hatemail for doing things BADLY (that somehow works...sometimes). Like 3C MORE NOOB, or spam throw more asshole. The only time I felt it was legit worth hate was when I played Ragna mirror and Blood Kain invincibility through their 2D whilst I was in a corner and corner carried them to the over side ended by Devoured by Darkness for 7.2k. He then starting being childish over the mic about my mother and all that jazz and kicked me. Then I play Persona 4 Arena and touch of death someone after using a One More Burst combo on me as Naoto. Even that got no hate mail, he just simply said "nice combo", not sure if sarcasm or he just understood the risk of One More Burst combo and accepted it.

From what I gather though I can't be sure since I normally don't do transfers but if you travel to Japan via USA. You only need a Japanese visa, too bad there is no Visa Exemption for Brazil but most countries get free visa to Japan so you don't have to apply if you have US/EU passport etc. As long as when you land in the USA you stay inside the airport you don't need a US visa to be at the airport, you then simply take a transfer flight in the US to Japan in which you will need a Japanese Visa to get through immigration at the Japanese Airport.

I remember someone saying that the English cast is already dubbing stuff for the JP BBCP sound effects or something? I mean it would be great if they got the Bang Zoom dub cast from the game to dub the anime at the same time as BBCP. More bang for your buck! Or I wonder with FUNimation would just go ahead and use their own cast and only have a select few say... Critisna Vee and Patrick Seitz. But I am doubtful considering FUNimation probably gives zero damns about the consistency of the original voice cast.

Though I don't know anyone here in particular I think it would be great to meet up with some people for Tokyo for some fun. Though I do have a suggestion is that last time I went to Japan since a friend was living around Kashiwa in Chiba (its halfway between Narita Airport and Tokyo), I decided to get a hotel/inn near there. Its still an urban area but cause of the location the accommodation is a lot cheaper (though you get what you pay for). I could easily commute to central Tokyo in an hour for about 850-980Yen depending on the route you take (there is like 2-3 ways you can get to Tokyo with transfers etc) it only took me like an hour to study the railway to find my way around. Maybe what I am trying to point out is that you don't NEED to get a hotel in Tokyo if you can find one that is close enough to commute by train, if you want to shave extra cost of your visit. Though I am not tournament ready yet I think I could learn a few things in two years.

Kokonoe seems to disapprove of Tao's table manners or just bored in general. I thought it was Kagura with Litchi at the back but I think its that new guy/girl thing that hangs around him. Would have been funny if Kagura was at the back trying to flirt with Litchi though.

BlazBlue@TGS Discussion Thread - Kagura/Terumi/Kokonoe hype time!

I think the problem with saying straight out that 100 Meter for 2k combo ender is bad is that, we have to start thinking that meter means less to Terumi. Terumi gains more meter than the rest of the cast, but how much more exactly? Maybe the meter cost makes sense considering 100 Meter might be as easy to get as say 60-70 meter for most of the cast? I don't know, I think the scale of meter might just be completely different when Terumi combos are concerned. -
Thanks Airk and Dark Ranger88, now that you have said it that way it definitely makes sense to continue to learn Hazama specifically if different "rules" apply to him in movement etc. Though now I understand that if I am whiffing my 2A (for example), the opponent has gained enough place from the pressure to be outside 2A range or the move they use just aren't getting hit by it (say Jin's 6B and Ragna's 2D) and should try poking later or earlier or maybe not at all? So maybe I should look into more of the Revolver action (whatever its called) of some characters to see what flows into what and when it ends etc. I also normally barrier block in-corners and in the air (Though I imagine air barrier block seems to make the most sense), would using normal block instead of barrier block help (sometimes) since if I recall barrier block pushes the enemy further away so you might just give them more space. Sort of confusing cause I assume barrier block is better cause it gives me more space but at the same time, I sort of want them a bit closer.. dunno weird logic maybe? A few observations I want to ask about also, people doing jump into barrier block in corners often, is it specifically to stop overhead, crossup shenanigans or is it legit to get space in the corner to breath. Considering the only way I think you can respond to it is do an IAD grab and you can tech grabs if you are expecting it so its sort of an empty threat? Plus I see a few things like I assume you call frame trapping, such as Ragna's 5B>5C>2C or 5B>2C>5C since they have long range you don't have to make them connect instantly I see like a delayed 2C or 5C after the initial pokes and a 5B. I believe you can so something similar with Hazama's 5B>2B>5C>2C? (though this is going into Hazama specific territory and need to learn how long you can delay them. Funny enough though I few things I see from videos don't seem to work cause in online play nobody seems to respect anyone's pressure (me included) so something like a 2A>2A>Dash>2A or 5B>5C>214D-A Hazama stuff works on match videos but people just mash it out. I have renewed vigour for learning Blazblue in the next game and hopefully I can up my game for this installment.

Watching the videos I realised just how similar the sound effects the game has to Under Night In-birth, maybe its the proto-type sound effects but I can't stop hearing Under Night In-birth during the combat in the trailers. -

I can imagine in a game like this, the roster would be a deal breaker for me, though Kirino serves as a good punching bag (just my opinion) I need to see what other characters they decide to add are. -

Out of interest I wonder if Mike Zaimont is aware of French Bread's willingness to put a Skullgirls character in their game. More so I wonder if he knows what it would be...
