  1. True you can get gustaf tk out of it but you still need the 50% meter limitation to convert into anything other than that. And it seems it will be the same route for midscreen TCL. No more sentinel dump after it so might as well use a gustaf tk after TCL on midscreen.
  2. by the looks of the video it seems gustaf is the same. I did not see any noticeable range when it came to how close he was next to nu in this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnS0_kfLMnA#t=210 This video wasn't impressive at all. They only showed the new growler and said, "oh here's the new TCL that got murdered on midscreen." What are we supposed to do with the new growler anyways? Yes we can cancel in cannon projectile but that sends them all the way down across the screen. The recovery of it is not good to the point we can dash in and do something. We can convert a BHS from it but that cost 50 meter so there's that restriction. The only thing we can get out of it is a chance to gain more proximity but we are still playing a neutral game and didn't really gained any real advantage. I'm not sure what was their point in showing us those raw valiants combos even the growler one ( it did looked cool I ought to admit). Its not like we can rely to throw raw valiant here and there so I thought that was irrelevant. We honestly took a huge hit and we are going to have to adapt, there's no other way around it.
  3. I ordered the Ultra Madcatz tournament edition. I was told it would be out on late November in the U.S so it should make it on time for Xrd. We still don't have an official date for NA Xrd neither. My guess is that these Xrd sticks will be out for the japanese market rather than N.A so expect high shipping cost to import. Lastly, do we have any important updates on the new Xrd character Leo? I'm dying to know more about him

  5. NOOOOO!!! These nerfs are totally uncalled for. No need for this!! Is that Leopard change a buff or a nerf? I cant tell. It seems like a huge nerf for middle screen play but it could possibly be a buff for corner. Could someone elaborate this please?

  8. Ok i'm having serious problems with my neutral game and pressure. I have gotten to the point I cant keep my pressure up. You see, every time I end up knocking someone down I'll try do a nice meaty at them and then WAMMM i get blown up with some sort of dp. So i calm down, and i say to myself lets bait these. Then next thing you know they start rolling away and going back to neutral where I dont want them to be at ex: Rags, Jin, Mu, Terumi etc... I try to stuff sometimes with 6A but man, they just block and no dp comes out. I want to stop these rollers getting out of my clutches. Ok, now another problem, I managed to land a gustav on hit(sometimes on block) and then my 5A is whiffing. Also another minor problem is that even tho i know i'm on plus with gustav and my 5A should beat stuff (given no IB) sometimes I get countered with a jab or even traded. I try not to mash since it will screw up my links but do I have to resort to mashing jab after the gustav? I feel like it could be a problem of not doing jab right away when recoveries of gustav are done; and it even happens on offline games. If i do a 5B well be ready to get smashed by a jab from a high tier like Litchi or Hazama. Seriously how do i get in? and stay in? Whiffing normals and these spacing problems are killing my game. Btw do you guys delay the forward dashes crossups after a knockdown?

  15. Like some of you might already know, Guilty Gear Isuka was released 1/16/14 on Steam. While surprisingly rare, this bring a whole opportunity to bring Blazblue, Guilty Gear and more titles to Steam. This publisher got the rights of Isuka through another company aside from Arcsy. Now what they will be doing is propose to Arcsy. to give them the rights of more popular titles to port them over to steam. This opens a good opportunity to see more games ported to the pc platform when Arcsy. abandoned it after the Calamity Trigger sales fiasco on Window's Live Games. This is one of the biggest reason why we need gather some proof that there's a serious market demand for these games in the pc. If you use your pc for gaming such as Steam and truly want to see more to come then I highly encourage you to support Isuka and this cause. I made i petition on the game's community page that is gradually gaining signatures.   16. Isuka is the only title that publisher had the rights to, thus it was the reason why it was released on steam. They will be trying to convince Arcsy. to give them more rights for more titles so they can port them over, thus why they need as much positive support as possible to prove to Arcsy. that there is enough demand for it in steam (specially after the poor sales fiasco of CT on window live games). I highly advice you to support this cause in order we see more games in steam and also please sign/post on the petition i made on steam.     Hi, posting here since there's no match up forums. Right now I'm having some troubles and getting punished, specially by Azrael (dam he hits hard). Usually when I'm gatling my combos and start cat spirit 3 slashes the first round is blockable but if I decide to do for another round to break his crouching guard with the overhead instead of doing a 6c I get punished instead. My concern is that if I follow up with 6C while he's blocking then I'm left wide open and then I'm eating his combos. Basically, I need some help on the do and don'ts. What are our moves that can be punishable (besides 6C) and leave us wide open so I don't keep making the same mistakes? Thanks.
  19. Ok, not sure if this has been brought up yet (there's nothing about it on the matchup forum) but this is some serious issue. How is Azrael supposed to punish Taokaka after a serial of successful blocking strings? I'm having serious problems punishing her gatling move. I feel like our pokes are too slow and for the most time i wind up getting counter, Counter, COUNTER!! If i manage to to squeeze a 2a or 5a its usually out of reach since her combo strings pulls her away unless she leaps in again to keep up the pressure, resulting on getting hit again and... COUNTER!! If i manage to to punish her Pink Slashing overhead and she decides to mix up and throw in a 6C then my 5C get punished instead and... COUNTER!!! If i try to back dash to get away from that its very risky and usually wind up on her strings. Forward is worse. Basically, I want to know how would you react to a situation like this without the use of the Burst move. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqSodBoAEyM#t=1015 I havent tried 6A but i know it has a slow start and it could be easily blocked or countered with a low poke. Why is it that Az's pokes are too slow and Tao's mostly out speed him. What moves are safe for me to punish her back? Is there another way to approach this type of situation?

They still sound complicated but there's no other way to learn them but just by practicing. @Raiza, I have attempted to do challenges modes but they are still complicated themselves. Heck! Even I barely cant get past challenge 13 with my main character (Noel). But I'll keep trying just as usual. @Pen Ninja, I currently play on a game pad controller. I saw it was recommended to change D to something easier like R1. Is that how you do it or do you think there's a better way to train holding D as the default? I anticipate it would be annoying going back and forth changing the button set up when deciding to change to another character. Also, is it ok if I add you guys to the playstation network? I don't really have a console of my own but when i get the chance to get a hold of one (sister's) I could play some matches with you guys.

  22. Not sure if this has been asked before or not.. Recently I was analyzing character designs and came up with an interesting question. You see, Relius wears a mask, yet there's really no explanation for that. We know that Ignis is a perfected version of Ada yet if you compared these two you notice that Ignis has bright blue eyes just like Carl's. Could it be that Relius gave his eyes to Ignis, thus that's the reason why he wears a mask? I just want to hear your thoughts on this matter and see what you think about it.
  23. Yes, I have seen it. However I reviewed it again when you mentioned. The reason i posted here was because I still find those combos really hard to perform for someone like me with little-no experience with Carl. I just want to know if there's some small chunks of combos around somewhere that are useful for me to get familiar with the little vigilante. I understand Carl Clover can be quiet the complex character (besides his sister complex). But must those high end combos must be learned form the get go? All I'm looking for is for smaller chucks of combos that will give me a smoother learning curve. I'm willing to put the time and effort into training to learn his tools. However, being on kindergarden land and moving to college phd dominion in one jump can be quiet vexing for myself since I don't have the talent some of you might have when it comes to learning fighting games.
  24. Hi, lurker for some times, new on the boards. I have some experience with Noel and Tager in general but I'm starting to show some interest for Carl ( couldn't handle Relius). While this guide has been very useful and explained quiet a lot in overall strategy, I found these combos to be quiet complex at my level with Carl. Is there anyone who could please teach or reference (Mr. Bang?) me to some starting exercises or easier combos to get an overall feeling before being thrown into the lions' den. Thanks in advance.
