There couldn't be a cooldown? You couldn't just have to switch to another item first and expend that before going back to the one you had before?
-
Honestly, I don't understand why both her and arakune with his air clouds are random. I'd probably give her a go as a sub if her drive wasn't random, even if there was nerfs to compensate (and then you can go about giving some of her other stuff buffs).

The problem with Apollo Justice was that Phoenix was far too important in it, and the future/past time machine memory thing or whatever (seriously what the fuck was that section about) was horrifically implemented. Honestly, Apollo Justice wasn't that good, which is a shame because it's mostly because they were too busy trying to stuff Phoenix Wright in there, not because Apollo was a bad character or anything. On topic though, I'd like to see if the rest of the cast is getting changed. I'm hyped for the Izayoi changes, and I'd love to see some Arakune buffs. I don't play the little blob, but I like him enough to want to see him more.
-
My favourite change is definitely the new DP input behaviour. The CP system pissed me off so much when I was playing Ragna.
-
That's actually too true. Seriously, fuck this anime. The one redeeming thing is that it gave us that picture of anime Terumi doing Tager's Astral and arakunegoingupstairs.gif through its QUALITY animation.
-
Maaaaaaaan. They took down the Blayzbloo Rebellion song. That sucks. I'm kind of tempted to get out my DS and buy the game, but apparently it's not very good.
-
Both are pretty cringey. I really would like to see the scene where Hakumen tells Tsubaki about the previous timeline and about her sacrifice inspired Hakumen, because that's a lovely scene. The anime just might get it right, after all.
-
Christ, thank you. But yeah, I really want to see this done in the English dub. I thought Japanese Ragna was completely out of his depth not being angry and bitter which made the whole thing a bit cringey. Patrick Seitz sounds natural when he's not angry, so I'm looking forward to that. also that arakune gif oh my god

Accidentally wrote in fact, I'll go change that.

Sure man, I'll just go ahead and get my own animation studio and rights to make a Blazblue anime. Oh wait, that isn't a valid argument at all. The same way that if a chef pisses into a bowl and calls it soup when serving it to a customer, then even if the customer doesn't cook he can still rightfully say that he's in fact been served a bowl of piss, we can say that the anime isn't good without having made our own anime. Oh hey, here we go. Someone already beat me to the 6A. *crashes through pillar.* The reason why we're saying the anime is bad is due to them thinking (Edit: Changed from fact) that the anime is bad, and we're pointing out our reasons for saying so, for example the horrible pacing, the poor animation quality, the poor fight scenes, the lack of characterization for most if not all of the cast, the fact that some of the cast hasn't shown up and generally poor to mediocre dialogue. ("The end has come! ADVANCING ON YOUR POSITION")

Him and Tsubaki are the only 2 characters in the BB story to really have their arcs done justice. The thing is, the main plot of BB is actually just a contrived mess, but the appeal is about all the little character moments that come up, and I think Arakune especially with him and Litchi have some excellent ones (Arakune's CS bad ending is probably my favourite part of BB.) The real problem here is that the boundary and everything associated with it isn't actually explained very well or to a satisfactory degree, outside of horrible exposition, and Arakune and Litchi should be perfect on exploring that at a personal level. I'd say less screentime given to shoddy fight scenes with Lambda and more to Arakune would be much better. Of course, screentime shouldn't be an issue, but if you're a fucking idiot and decide to have the plot of 3 games with dense plot (dense in more ways than one -fucking idea engines deus ex machinas-) all done in 12 episodes then it does become a problem. Whoever it was that said that people only really watch this for the QUALITY animation, you're sadly right.

This episode wasn't too bad. Once again though, the actual events don't hold much weight considering that these characters have had pretty much 0 development.
-
And I was really looking forward to 5 after 4 being pretty good.

Yeah, CT would've been excellent for world and character building along with a pretty decent hook with the whole time loop thing. Plus they had an opportunity to expand on stuff never really explained in any detail or to a satisfactory amount in the games. After all, considering how important the NOL is meant to be, they don't actually have much of a presence. So they have total control on the land masses where people live, but why should I care? People seem to be living quite happily and seem free to do whatever they like. Whatever snippets of actual bad things they do such as rich and upper class people living at the top, and the proles staying near the bottom where there's still seithr don't get elaborated on to any satisfactory level which makes the world seem quite dull and empty. Hell, they don't even give a shit about Ragna, who's apparently the most wanted criminal strolling around in full uniform and a massive sword. So is Hazama just telling Noel about Ragna and trying to stop a panic from happening? Why are there no NOL officers patrolling about? I know this isn't THAT related to the anime specifically, but when we've had an episode with a fucking hot springs scene taking up the majority of the 20 minutes, there's nothing of substance to actually say about it.
-
But the problem here is, not only is the whole black beast laying dormant inside Ragna thing much too important to leave to a really fucking cringey hot springs scene, it's something that could've been introduced in a much better way. One of the things I loved about that plot point is that both Jubei and Rachel knew how fucking stupid and amoral it was to give a weapon of mass destruction to an emotionally damaged young boy but didn't have a choice; they needed a weapon of their own against Terumi. Why not show those scenes then? Like the flashback where Jubei says "I got him involved after all. I'm sorry. I really am. You can hate me if ya want. I promised I'd never use it again, but... I'm just gonna borrow this one more time...". There's really no point in having a character spout exposition when you've got lines like that to use to not only show plot points but add some character development as well.

WE COULD NEVER BAKE WHAT A BIG BIG SPONGE CAKE

Episode 4 was actually really good. Like, what Myoro said. The fact that there's a bit more exposition about shit that matters like the Archenemies. Good new OP and all that. Mummy Ragna got a good few chuckles out of me.

Persona 4 animation had problems, but otherwise it was pretty excellent. The club scene was a work of art. AM still has big problems without any comparisons to the game such as often shoddy animation, pacing, fight scenes that go nowhere (So we saw Jin launch a shitty Ice Arrow, get ax kicked once and is out for the count, Hakumen uses 6A and launches ragna into pillars then some shit happens with blood kain, I genuinely can't remember, then Noel gets a crazy gun summoning sequence then PLEASE LET THIS LAND ad nauseum until she gets wrecked, then a fairly decent fight with ragna vs nu but pads it out with stupid looking "clashes" that looks like squiggles. Then broke as fuck hazama 5Ds). I'm being perfectly serious when I say I tune in just to watch Hazama/Terumi and listen to the OST.
-
The issue is, aside from RAUNCHY UNCENSORED BOILED EGG EATING ACTION, the blazblue anime is really quite shit. Certain things they elaborate on, like showing Ragna to be pretty psychologically fucked up in the second episode, are pretty cool, but that's only comparing it to the game. Anyone new won't even have that to enjoy. It's a really massive disappointment.

That Lust Sin II intro though. Oooooft. Actually, fuck it, here's what I think of the remixes; Rebellion II isn't bad, suffers from a poor bridge into the final chorus. Bullet Dance II has an intro that gives me goosebumps, then descends into a cacophonous mess. Desperately needed the old orchestral backing. Lust Sin II is fantastic, on par if not better than Lust Sin I. Motor Head II is pretty poor, missing the funk and replacing it with a fairly decent omnious backing and some shockingly poor MIDI sounds at certain points. Takes far too long to start up. Catus Carnival II is so much better than I, mostly because it now resembles an actual song. Not too bad. Oriental Flower II is a bit iffy but fairly good overall, not nearly as catchy but has its moments. Queen of Rose II is pretty poor. I wasn't amazing, but was still decent. What it needed was a bit more punch to it and II decided to turn it into an extended drum solo during the verse. Ech. Gale II made me shed manly tears. On par with I, and that's no small feat. Thin Red Line II had fairly decent guitars, but lost so much ambience and also became much less catchy. The piano made Thin Red Line I give me goose bumps. If they'd kept the original intro and put in that piano again, it'd easily be one of my favourite tracks. Endless Despair II has a fucking badass intro, but really goofy organs (Actually a running theme in all of the songs, really irks me) and then sort of meanders about for most of it, aside from an awesome chorus. I kicks II's ass.

Cheers for the uploads, my iPod couldn't be happier. Well, if Bullet Dance II wasn't horrible past the intro, maaaaaybe. Yeah.
