  1. Why would Mori lie about this? It's pretty obvious that this story is over. Jin's role as a hero is finished and now he's paying the price for pressing on and ignoring all the injuries he suffered throughout the games. If they're going to have another BB game it will be with a new cast and Jin will be at the sidelines at best. And just because Jin is in the NOL doesn't mean he has to be a front line fighter. As a head of the Duodecim and with a high rank within the NOL military he can have an administrative position. Jin showed himself to be a genius so he'd do really well in a desk job. This reminds me of people saying that Mori will contrive a way to bring Terumi back to life, ignoring the fact that it would render the events of the first four games almost pointless. There's no need to bring back these characters.
  2. The above is the illustration of Mai that will be used on the cover of the first volume of Variable Heart. http://amatsumugi89.tumblr.com/post/152336148413/illustration-of-mai-that-will-be-used-as-the-cover
  3. The Blazblue anime bombed. The main reason they made it was to promote CP and it worked for that, but it sold less than half the disks it would have required just to recoup its expenses. There's no way they're making more of it, especially since there won't even be another BB game in the foreseeable future. Trinity is gone. She passed on at the end of CF.
  4. I messaged one of the scanlators about it and they added the missing page. I've also updated this zip file.
  5. Relius tells Hazama that Carl might even surpass him and Hazama replies that he's leaving a really dangerous bomb in this world.
  6. The relationship of Mai and Kajun isn't anything like that of Tager and Kokonoe. Tager is Kokonoe's slave; he does whatever she commands and she treats him practically like a tool. Mai doesn't take orders from Kajun and Kajun honestly cares for her and sees her as her friend. The only similarities are that Kajun and Kokonoe are more brainy while Mai and Tager are more brawny, but that's pretty superficial. Mai plays a pretty minor role in the story mode; she does fight Relius in her arcade mode.
  7. Chapter 3 of Variable Heart has been scanlated. Once again I took the liberty of uploading it as a zip file. An interesting chapter; we learn more about what Mai has become. One thing I found intriguing was that Kajun said that Mai had lost her super-taste, but Central Fiction makes it clear she still has it. Perhaps something will happen in the manga that causes her grimoire to revert to its previous state. Though Arakune's system voice does call Mai "the Blank Grimoire", so it seems she's does remain that grimoire. Looks like Mai's inner conflict in this series will be on whether she's still human or not, which rather resembles that of Noel in the main games after finding out she's a Prime Field Device. In chapter 2 Mai was really upset to be called a thing and in this one the thought that she was no longer human caused her to despair.
  8. The Susanoo in its profile is said to love freedom. In effect, it was trying to free itself from its duty by destroying the thing it was meant to protect. Which wasn't very good for the world of course.
  9. The story and character sections of the CF website have been updated to include information on the Susanoo. These state outright that the Susanoo is Terumi's true form, so that should put to rest any speculation on Terumi simply being a crazy human who inhabited the Susanoo and came to think of himself as a god. The Susanoo was meant to defend Amaterasu along with Tsukuyomi and wasn't meant to have a consciousness of its own. However it eventually developed a soul and came to resent Amaterasu because it felt like it was enslaved.
  10. To me that sword looked damaged from battle rather than from neglect. It looked cracked rather than corroded.
  11. The impression I got from Phase Shift 1 was that Kazuma was just an average guy. He wasn't evil but he wasn't particularly nice either. He went evil pretty rapidly after meeting Terumi, which to be honest disappointed me. I had hoped he would have had a serious inner struggle about whether he should side with the kind girl that was trying to help him or with the shady psychopath who obviously had a hidden agenda. However other than one scene where he wondered if he could trust Trinity, Kazuma pretty much went along with everything Terumi said. The fact that Trinity was never able to admit that the guy she fell in love with had gone completely evil even after all of the atrocities he gleefully committed makes Trinity seem really foolish to me.
  12. That was an interesting chapter. Looks like there are a lot more common elements between the Xblaze and the main BB universe than we suspected. First we see a Legacy Weapon and now an Embryo Storage unit. Fuzzy is interesting too. I wonder if he's a true vampire or something else. So far we had only seen Rachel and Clavis as far as vampires go, so I wonder if these two are unique entities or is there are other vampires running around.
  13. I like how they had hinted that this was the case in previous games. Terumi called himself the true Susanoo during his astral and Mu called him the black Susanoo. Jin was the one who became Izanagi.
  14. That's the form Ragna assumes when doing his Astral, so I guess it's something he can do with the power of his grimoire.
  15. Trinity was the one controlling the Susanoo at that point. I guess that was her final payback for what Terumi did to her. By the way I had a couple of question about Mai because I've read contradictory spoilers. Was she accepted by her father and went back to using the Hazuki family name? Did she keep working for Kokonoe alongside Kajun?
  16. Here's the Mai preview: https://youtu.be/Av9joILIWJ0 Am I correct in thinking Mai says "For the sake of my precious friends" and "I want to become everyone's strength"? This confirms that Mai's main motivation in CF is to help her friends. Her trailer also says that she wants to go after Relius for their sake. The fact she's attacking Relius in her trailer is probably to demonstrate that he's her enemy.
  17. Here's the official upload of the Mai presentation at TGS. This page discusses some of the things shown in the video.
  18. Rather surprised they left Mai out of the OP, but at least they included her crest in it. As you said, that thing was probably Take-Mikazuchi. Nine is trying to upgrade it in order to use it to blow up the world.
  19. Agreed. Noel and Tsubaki have never shown romantic interest towards other women and Tsubaki is very clearly in love with a man. Kajun likes to tease Mai, but she has never kissed or done anything serious to her and when Mai made it seem like she was romantically interested in Kajun she freaked out, so she's probably straight as well. Mai showed interest in women early in Remix Heart but stopped doing so around halfway through the manga and from that point only ever showed interest in a guy, so it looks like she's effectively straight too. Makoto likes groping and kissing other girls, but she has also said on more than one occasion that she finds Jin to be hot, so she's probably bi. Shiori is the only character who has only shown romantic interest exclusively towards women. So it seems that Team Remix Heart has 4 straight girls, 1 bi and 1 lesbian.
  20. True. I don't expect Mai to defeat Relius herself, but I imagine that her actions will help bring about his downfall.
  21. There are similarities between Mai and Makoto. Both of them needed the help of their friends to learn how to open up to others and both are now cheerful, friendly and value their friends above everything else. Their backstories however are pretty different. Makoto had closed herself off because she was abused due to her race. Mai simply never had an opportunity to make friends because her father prevented her from doing so. And of course Makoto was from a poor family and only made it to the academy due to her physical abilities, while Mai is the heir to one of the 12 families ruling the world and got put in the academy by her father under a fake name. Makoto had to grapple with the inferiority complex caused by her being a beastkin, while Mai had to deal in Remix Heart with the fact her father seemingly rejected her and that she had become a woman, while in Variable Heart she has to deal with the fact that her body has become a grimoire which raises questions about how human she is or will be in the future. Also their personalities are not the same either. Makoto is very energetic and loves teasing her friends, while Mai is much more earnest and polite. Based on what we've seen Mai's motivation in CF does appear to be to help her friends, though her role will be different from that of Makoto. Makoto's objective has been to keep Noel and Tsubaki from killing one another and to reconcile them; Mai's objective seems to be to neutralize the threat that Relius represents.
  22. Zedar has translated what's said in Mai's trailer: http://amatsumugi89.tumblr.com/post/150448873043/i-gave-an-attempt-to-translate-mais-pv The words that flash on the screen (e.g. Hazuki family) are related to Mai's backstory, while what she actually says seems to be related to what she's doing in CF. Looks like she does hate Relius for treating people like objects and wants to go after him for the sake of her friends.
  23. The Remix Heart manga takes place during the first year of Noel and her friends at the Military Academy (AKA high school). Jin at the time was a third year. The Variable Heart manga begins in June 2197, right after the end of the Ikagura Civil War. It starts with Mai still being a student alongside the other girls, but at this point in the manga Mai is on the run from the Zero Squadron while being assisted by Sector Seven. So it's hard to guess what will end up happening to Mai over the intervening two and a half years. We'll either have to wait for Variable Heart to finish or maybe Centralfiction will mention what Mai has been up to.
  24. Mai combo video has also become available now: https://youtu.be/4xu9VQL4CHE
