  1. I dont seem to see the benefit of cancelling into a MSJH after a 2D over doing a neutral jackhound after a 2D. Everytime I do the MSJH after 2D it never pops the target back up again, whether its potemkin or ky, but everytime I do the neutral jackhound after 2D it's always faster and it always lands me in the perfect spot to continue comboing. Any advice on this?
  2. So irregardless of anything it's just better to master using MSJH after 2D than a neutral jackhound?
  3. Okay,so you said you do a falling j.s in order to connect after a KJFRC...so when you're inputting the buttons, do you delay the slash button just a little bit after the FRC is complete, or do you input them all at once like the rest of the air combo before and after it? Secondly, is the MSJH level 2 faster to cancel after 2D than a normal MSJH? I was trying what you said and using a neutral jackhound right after 2D works much better (at level 1, I was trying) since it connects smoothly, but when I tried to do a level 1 2D + MC->MSJH, it took me many tries and it doesnt count as another hit in the combo. Does that drastically change when you do level 2, or is it just better overall to use the neutral jackhound since its faster?
  4. Alright, some combo questions about Johnny. Firstly, when you chain a jackhound after a 2D, do you expert players MC the 2D and from the MC do the jackhound, or is it faster/more effective to just do a neutral jackhound after 2D? Also, what are some effective combo followups after nailing a 2D, jackhound? Secondly, after doing the standard air combo: 6P, j.p, j.k, j.s, d.j.s., j.hs, KJFRC I just cant seem to nail a combo after it. I dont know whether afterwards you have to hit with something in the neutral air position and then press up + forward like you do to double jump and continue the first air combo or whether you can just press 2 or 3 neutral attack buttons after the FRC and then double jump to continue it? So, in simpler terms, after doing 6P, j.p, j.k, j.s, d.j.s., j.hs, KJFRC do you either: j.p, j.k, j.s then press up and forward and continue with j.s, j.s, j.d, ensenga for instance? Or, do you j.p, THEN press up and forward while doing j.k, j.s, j.s, j.d, ensenga?
  5. Honestly, five, that has to be one of the most intelligent, well-formulated explanations of tier list mechanics and fighting game balances/imbalances I've ever read. Basically, if someone really wants to, they can be really, really exceptional with Johnny and can beat the competition/win tournaments/etc regardless of Johnny's deficiencies, right? I mean, I've seen BLEED run circles around characters who would be expected to utterly destroy him according to Tier lists (and by running around, I mean winning, and stylishly so) so I guess it all comes down to how much practice you have with Johnny and how well you are overall with playing accent core, yes?
  6. BLEED is pretty crazy. All this speak of Johnny being nerfed and therefore bottom tier right now....but I thought guilty gear was the series to end tier lists. Hailed as the "most balanced 2D fighter" and all that. Plus, I heard things like Johnny isnt able to do much coinless/tensionless, but I see BLEED fairing just fine coinless and tensionless even against characters who were said to being able to run circles around johnny, like Jam and Baiken and the like. Any other source for BLEED videos other than youtube? And isn't it true that, with enough experience on how the game works, and much, much practice on mastering Johnny, Johnny could slash the shit out of even the S++ tier characters?
  7. I tried that with not much luck. MSY vids are hard to come by, especially for AC. Anyone else? Seems like Bleed gets lots of mention around here, is he considered one of the best?
  8. Mmk, getting back to topic, who's arguably the best or one of the best Johnny AC players and where is there a decent supply of videos from them?
  9. Mmk, one last question in this vein: What tier was Johnny during Slash and why was he in that tier?
  10. Dunno if this is a stupid question or not, but I'm new to AC. Why is Johnny bottom tier, especially since he's got a very useful new move? I know they nerfed divine blade transport but past that it doesnt seem like much has changed.
  11. Yeah, johnny's the best guilty gear character. His moves dont have so much variety, sure, but he doesnt need it since a skilled johnny player will be fast enough to slash the shit out of someone before they ever have a chance to realize the lack of variety.
  12. Yeah, thanks for the input, but I cant say that I'm a complete Johnny newb. I played isuka for a little bit, and even though thats not saying much, I picked up a feel for playing johnny in general, as well as getting down some of his essentials like MCing, Ensenga TKing and basic air combos (basic being no FRCing or anything, 7-8 hit combos with no juggle). Now that I bought myself AC, I really wanna play Johnny with a level of expertise, and I know thats gunna take practice. What sucks is that I have no human opponents to fight, especially not good ones, so even if I play against the CPU that can get very easy to do very quickly even on maniac. Oh well, I hope Im gunna find someone to play against soon as well as master some more combos. Once you have command of combos and you're sure you can do them, with FRC, you're much more confident in a match because past that it's just setting up the opponent for an opening to get hit with those combos.
  13. Yeah, it kinda sucks lately because my training is all random. I juggle between MCling everything I can, air combos(I do a lot of that) and basically getting a feel for johnny's FRCs for all the moves that are worth it. I'm still having lots of trouble after FRCing aerial joker, but other than that, I dont have anyone to play against(GODDAMN,wish AC was released for PS3 with online access) and Im just fooling around with no real frame of reference. I dont really have anyone whos good or great at playing Johnny to say what I am and arent doing. BTW, whats Ensenga TK? Sorry, dont know all the terminology(though Im sure I know the actual thing TK refers to)
  14. Cool, thanks a lot. So, about how many hours a day (rough estimate, obviously no one times themselves) would you practice to get that good?(Been watching some of your vids)
  15. Five, how long did it take you to get so proficient with Johnny? I'm just curious since I've been playing for a couple days and I can't really nail some of those air combos I see you doing (Not talking about the DB FRC, land, then air combo, but just the stuff you do in the air in terms of doing the aerial killer joker, FRC, then starting up another air combo) I always have trouble connecting after I FRC the aerial killer joker after j.p, j. k, j.s, j.s, j. HS. After that I try and connect with a kick or I see that most people connect with j.s after that (is this easier to connect with than other aerial attacks?)
  16. And in what kind of situations would you need to pull off something like this?
  17. Mmk, how do you do the MFDJH? I've been trying for a while and I can't seem to get it down. Any advice?
  18. Yeah, seems kinda trivial, I mean....it's not as if Johnny's mist finer is slow that it needs an FRC. I mean, I wouldnt even know what to do after FRCing it, and it'd be a waste of 1/4 tension.
  19. That'd be really nice. I've been watching lots of vids, but my problem is that most combos past 6 or 7 hits with johnny require perfect FRC timing, which I dont yet have. Although I've been practicing and I've gotten down his mist finer L2 FRC timings. It's the 2 staple moves, the killer joker and divine blade who's timings I need to get down. Past that, I'm gunna need to just get battle practice(like when enemies hit back, now I've just been ****ing around in training and just practicing technique) It'd be really nice if you posted some vids, I'd love to see really skilled johnny players in action
  20. I see. So you can do a jackhound during a mist finer dash (that's the flash step looking thing, right?) by doing 214D? Interesting. Yeah, I have a general question about air combos. I've been winging it for quite some time and I really wanna get a solid opinion on this: When you knock someone into the air, regardless of how (excluding dust) you need to press up diagonally on the analog stick to start hitting them, yes? And then, to continue the combo with a second jump, do you need to press only up, only forward, or is it again another 69 directional with the combo buttons? Also, after the Aerial Killer Joker (I dunno what it's called, the mist finer in the air) is FRCed, you only press up or forward twice? You dont have to press diagonal upward like with all the other combos?
  21. Oh,really? You can do 2147S and 2369S and they work?Thats cool. Also, did they change something from slash and X2 with Johnny's ensenga? Before you could do 412369HS and do the instant ensenga, but now I've noticed that it HAS TO BE 4123698HS or it wont work. Also, what's this I hear about a mist finer stance jackhound is better than a neutral jackhound? Whats a neutral jackhound and how do you do the mist finer jackhound? One more thing: When you do a successful 214S FRC do you have to press 69 directional on the pad to keep the combo going or can you just hit buttons from where you FRCed?
  22. Cool, thanks. Now, about the instant commands, do you know what those are? The 124S is the one where he jumps immediately from standing position and does that air mist finer. The 326S is the divine blade I think its called. What are the commands for those 2 to do them instantly from the ground like a ground ensenga,do you know?
  23. Well, firstly, I wanted to ask just what exactly are the commands for johnny's instant 124S and 326S? Is it just 1247S and 3269S or is there more to it? Secondly, I'm having trouble hitting the FRCs on his 124 and 326. For the veteran johnny players: Is there something you look for when timing the FRCs for these moves? Like what he says or do you time it by the animation or is it just practice practice practice until it becomes instinct? Past that, what exactly are the staples to being a master johnny player? I'm pretty good with the mist cancel now but just what are all the moves that johnny can mist cancel out of?
