  1. I am also not the best person to explain this to you. But I got my theory. A large problem for Bang right now is his quality of life. He has the abilities but not the ease or consistency necessary to be reliably used. A lot of the changes will give him some wiggle room here. His command grab now keeps air momentum, making it far more reliable and less "random", by giving you more options on how to use the command grab. His FuRinKaZan can block, that teleport immunity thing, doesn't do weird things with his Ka seal, and won't force a long animation. All little usability buffs rather than damage or priority or whatever changes. Same with the j.C into j.D change. Its more seal control as well as the option to drop them to the ground rather than punch'em with a DP or j 2C. Add in the bumpers, Bang is now easier and more reliable to play, which is a huge buff in many ways.
  2. I wonder more if someone will actually make a proper tier list. All the ones I could find were "I don't play bang so I place him low for now" Not that he belongs super high, I just expect more input and knowledge when they make the next tier lists.
  3. Hello, new guy question. Looking to get a fightstick, lots of great information online about them. The question, is it fine to buy one used? The price is far more agreeable, and I'm sure that fixing/modding a quality stick will be more my style than replacing a bad one. Completely new to this, and I really want to join in. I just need a few semi-positive words of "buying used ain't so bad" and I'm getting one.
  4. What's up. I see that this thread is only mostly dead, so I'll ask for some help here in addition to the Gameplay thread again if I don't get assistance. So, looking at the logs, I fight Terumi about 30% of the time, with a low 30%ish chance of victory. So my idea is currently to improve my match up against the guy. I find myself unable to escape pressure strings without burst. In fact, I don't know when I can possibly escape any of his combo's that seem to end depending only on who is playing Terumi. If I want to escape, I need to know when I can make a move. I'm just being hit until he drops the combo, only to be hit again. I ain't too good, but my game has been improving against others as I learned when to spot the openings, what's Terumi's openings? If he never uses the slower drives, I never get of jump out. This is worded very poorly, I hope you can understand what I mean.
  5. Which tier are you following? I'd love to get more information on it, more than a restarted list and a single sentence of an excuse. From what I could look up(back around July so waaaay out of date) everybody seemed to same the some thing about Bang. The jist of it was a common - "He's tricky and I don't play him. He's solid and has enough changes that I don't know where to put him, so mid tier" Or for a better answer, More testing required. Characters who are not obviously overpowered tend to require testing. If they are overpowered.... High tier. A lot of people hate the matchup because they don't play or understand Bang... Which leads to nobody getting experience facing him which means fewer impressions. This doesn't go only for Bang of course. The less used characters don't get enough community development. Last I checked Bang's page on the wiki-thing was underdeveloped with barely any information on how to use or face him. I had to visit the Bang Combo page or this Gameplay one to learn anything about Bang.
  6. Help! Basic knowledge of Terumi has helped me defeat his constant appearances as I learned the game and improved. I've gotten to the point where I start facing actually good opponents that do rapid cancel and don't drop the ball on their combo's and the part I need help with, pressure strings. What defensive tools can I use as bang? Right now its just "don't get hit" for me. And, any tips on how to use my bumpers more? They're awesome but I'm more for throwing them nails.
  7. Online question here. When I'm challenged by a purple name in ranked, it means they're on my bad player list. What does a red name mean? That they're disliked as a bad player by lots of people? Low % of wins? Also, I'm getting lots of disconnecting players wanting high win ratios lately. Makes mad Is their even a reason to have a high ratio? Like an achievement or something?
  8. New question! Arakune... So confusing! I have no idea how to engage or disengage on this fellow. I I usually wind up jumping into some kinda Bug or he runs away out of my reach until I do mess up and hit a bug. What can I use against this slimey bastard?
  9. If true this will be helpful as hell, I'm on a plane ride home now and will test it later. I just entered a con-tournament yesterday on a whim and spent my $3 bucks on it! The players were rather meh so I was able to push my way into 3rd place! Wahoo I got $5 bucks as a prize! But the winner and 2nd were a Hakumen and Carl player I believe I could have beat, the Carl actually spared with me and we traded PSNs afterwards. I was able to be best him once per 10 matched, which is acceptable to me. But that Hakumen knew how to drive man, he would counter everything and we had to spam grabs on him! Both me and the Carl player lost when we would use a Distortion only to have it countered. I learned you can counter Asura and I am not OK with that! Oh well, I'll try the jump back blocking when I get home.
  10. I need help with the Hakumen Matchup, any pointers. The one I'm playing against spams his Drive a lot Very barren question eh?
  11. A complete guess, but perhaps you want to learn more about initialing and neutral game over combos, knowing a bnb won't help if you don't know how to get it. Of course, just fighting the computer is great for this, insane computers are more efficient than good, so that is my advice. However, I'm damn bad myself, so don't ask me. I've gotten a 50% ratio in recent online matches...but its more due to luck and practiceAnd this only in the last 30 games played, overall its damn horrible like 19%. Don't go ranked the second you finish the arcade.
  12. Question! What do you answering players think when you face someone new, bad, inexperienced, and other words synonymous with myself. I was recently at a local tournament thingy, and got to meet a lot of awesome people, really improved myself and talked with some players. Those at or around my level were there and I didn't feel alone, but this and and online play recently begs the question. What do you think when your up against a newer player? What is going through your head when you putting out those amazing combos or sitting there waiting for me to try something neat? Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
  13. unfortunately Im not at the level to properly learn from the video, altho i have been watching as ive heard this advice before. I need general improvment advice, as ramming my face into matches is no longer showing improvment. Usually managing 1 win, then losing forever forward online.
  14. Questions here. Hello people, I'm new here, both dustloop and Blazeblue. Ive been rocking training mode to absurdity while practing two or three bnbs ive learned, and im at a loss as how to improve from here. First some info, I'm playing Bang. I like his style and the number of silly tools, but im really bad at the neutral game or footsies or whatever its called. I can dash away but closing in always has me eat something to the face or has the opponent backstep out of my range. When i back step i eat some long range ice or gunshot or pole or elecetric shock and get pissed at my dumb cartwheel backstep, how do i go about improving this basic function of thr game? More so, finding more information is difficult with these acronyms i dont know! What exactly is DP? A picture guide said dragon punch, as if that explained things, i lile to assume its Bang super crush mpve that pushed them away. The same guide that named DP also had the 623 command as a DP so... more information would be nice. Any other advice to help understand everything is appreciated. lastly, any place I can find a general guide to how each fighter plays and how to um, not so much as counter them but to avoid playing into their hands, like being magnetized bu Tagger seems like a do not want to me, something to that effect. Thanks for taking the time to read my absurd questions.
