People here are saying they have "good taste"/it's a better character design simply because of the tiny cleavage blocker. That little piece of clothing doesn't change anything. Also, about half-assing it, I don't think you got my point. Yes, they made a boob window. So why cover it on the box art? Also, her actual model in the game is unchanged, which means they half-assed multiple things. Ishiwatari succeeded in making a more accessible GG by making it really simple and slow. If you look at the other Arcsys fighters which have only gotten more complex gameplay-wise, Xrd is really really basic in comparison.

Agreed. I played through CT, CSE and CP and read every single line of text hoping the story would be good. In my opinion, Blazblue's story is bad. I love the game,I like some of the characters, but the writer is trying sooo hard. It's not the fact that story structure is confusing, it's just the fact the story is so bland and BORING. Most of all, everything is generic. Every thing is the stuff I've watched in a lot of anime, stuff I've read in manga, and in all the visual novels I've read. I'm a huge nerd, and I've read a lot of VNs. I actually had time for that. There is not a single character in Blazblue whom I thought was unique or interesting. Not a single subplot that that was compelling. Everything was sleep-inducing. I read all of Muv Luv. All 8 novels of Umineko. They weren't perfect but at least they had some great characters, very interesting concepts, and the stories actually had me excited to read more. A guy whose hair turns white and fights with a grimoire, has a black beast/turns into it at some point, has connections to a blond person in an orphanage that is secretly a fighter of justice (complete with cool costume and heroic lines). The blond person also constantly duels her brother who is often described as a black beast/demon/the dark one. No, this is not Blazblue. This is from a vn called Demonbane. Also, Hakumen's design is ripped straight off of Metatron. He seriously just looks like a less-detailed Metatron. Guy gets his arm cut off when he was a kid. He eventually turns into a white-haired guy wearing a red outfit and fights with sword. He has a magic twin-tailed smart-ass friend that constantly insults him. She uses familiars and knows the things the protag doesn't. She is verbally mean to him, yet she very clearly cares for him. No, I'm not talking about Blazblue here either. I could seriously go on and on. Finding all the things that Blazblue ripped off/things that are cliche in general. I probably will post all those here sometime. I just think it's weird how some people out there actually praise the story and think it's good. Even if it wasn't so generic, there's really nothing special about the story either. I think it's because there is finally a fighting game with a story this in-depth that people automatically praise it. Even the gag reels, are just typical anime shit. No originality whatsoever. This wouldn't be so bad if the writing wasn't so obnoxious, pretending to be meaningful and good when it's not. Even more obnoxious is they make you read hours upon hours of this. Arcsystemworks makes great games. But their stories (yes, this applies to Persona and GG) are all garbage. If they're going to make really in-depth story modes at least hire better writers. Of course. I don't know why people here are making a big deal about the little piece of clothing over El's cleavage as if "it's a better design". It's a videogame character with big boobs, covering them or not doesn't really change much. If they are going for a sexy design, might as well go all the way instead of half-assing it. Now that the demo is out I'm really wondering if the game will be popular. Not SF4 popular, but will Guilty Gear finally be a household name? This is the first time that GG is the slowest and simplest out of the 3 big Arcsystemworks fighters, which is what Ishiwatari wanted. I got a lot of my friends and cousins into anime fighters a while back and they're used to long, flashy combos. But now we're back to 5K c.S 2D BR. The character's command lists barely even changed Hopefully this becomes the next big thing and people don't just drop it after watching all the pretty animations.

JoJo fan here. Kinda sad that it's gone forever but I would have never paid $20 for that. Way too overpriced.

Am I wrong in saying the first Guilty Gear is pretty bad? Reload and Accent Core games are great. The first GG is just....yeah.

Everytime I watch those gameplay videos I'm just waiting for someone to do an instant kill but they never do. I'm hoping El and Sin's are actually flashy and cool. Like Blazblue's astral finishes. Most of the IKs in the game are lame especially Millia's and Slayer's.

I thought Sol would be S-tier. Then again the Sol I play as is the one with sidewinder.

Why download the JPN version? Is the American version really that late (I'm not sure how big the gaps are in release dates)

So the book will show the entirety of the Guilty Gear storyline including the untranslated manga stuff? Finally, official material that will show the real canon. I'm hoping I-No is connected to Sol Badguy somehow. There is some potential here

Can you please point out which part of: Is wrong? Because the person ignoring facts would be the one that can't understand reality. Looking at things in an objective way instead of praising everything is someone who is more realistic.

Chronophantasma: Azrael, Terumi, Kokonoe, Bullet, Amane, Izayoi, Kagura, Celica, Lambda Ultimax: Yukari, Junpei, Ken & Koromaru, Margaret, Adachi, Rise, Marie, Sho Minazuki and another Sho Xrd: Sin, Ramlethal, Bedman On top of removing half the older cast, removing some mechanics, Xrd also gets the least amount of new characters. This is unfair.

The flag should look like a flag during some attacks. Otherwise it would look like he's just swinging a pole.

Do they just hate GG or something? This is the return of their big fighting game and they put their smallest development team to work on it, and put in less content than the other games. Unless there are secretly unlockable characters/added characters I'm not okay with this. This is raowng.

Ultimax and Blazblue are getting a lot of new characters, why isn't Xrd. Since the release date is all the way in December, is that enough time for one or two more characters? (Besides Sin and EL, don't even know if the girl is playable) Also since Ultimax is going to have that "arcade lobby" mode I'm hoping Xrd will too. But there should be options to set how many rounds. It's nice to walk around and see that there are people playing the game instead of blindly hoping to connect to someone.

I'm waiting for a surprise reveal everyday. Baiken, Johnny, Justice, Zappa, Bridget, Dizzy, anyone. I may be wrong but didn't they say the console version will have extra character(s)? Maybe someone else will be added after Sin?

I'm waiting for Sol to impregnate I-No so they can have their own gear baby to rival Sin.

I find Noel really boring actually. Her guns aren't even cool. They try to make her so cute and precious and to me she's still just as bland and uninteresting (gameplay-wise and story-wise) Fighting her isn't that fun either. But that's just me. I'm a weird guy

The right one looks pretty cool. If they were going for a new design like Potemkin and Millia I wouldn't mind that Sol at all. No hideous arm, the hair isn't bigger than his head, and less of the identical belts next to each other. The one on the left is classic Sol though, and he looks so moe with that ribbon and ponytail. Maybe there will be DLC costumes. Prototype Sol, Order Sol, Sol the Bloodedge, Ryu Badguy..
