Hi guys. So I hear there seems to be a problem with the way the PS4 version looks. I've seen some screens in another thread and I can say that while the backgrounds look muck much better, the sprites do look a little rougher. It is very difficult to tell how much 'rougher' however without actually seeing each in motion. As somebody who is used to the PS3 version, will this be jarring? Which version will give me the best experience? This seems like the whole Xrd PS3 Vs PS4 thing only in reverse. Since I have the option to get either I would like to choose the best one. A few other points: -Is there any difference in framerate? (I know some stages in CP Vanilla could case a few framerate dips. The PS4 version should be perfect in this regard but you never know.) -Are the almost non-existent load times the only performance improvement for PS4 users? -What will be the new tournament standard? -Any other problems in each version? I'm guessing the PS3 version is closer to the arcade verson's performance but am open to correction. It's unfortunate that 1080p, paradoxically, seems to lessen the experience but I gues it's just an inherent problem with old sprites. Sorry for being so pedantic but I just don't want another Xrd thing where I buy a version (find out its noticeably inferior) and then have to double dip. I was hoping the PS4 version would be the obviously better choice but the matter seems a little more complicated. Thanks and any insight/opinions on the matter would mean a lot.

Just having a look at those screens. Unfortunately its pretty difficult to tell. The backgrounds do look signifigantly better but are the rough sprites really that noticeable? I mean, as somebody who is used to the PS3 version, will it be jarring? This seems like the whole GGXrd PS3 Vs PS4 thing only in reverse. So which version do you think is best overall?

Hi there So I was really pumped to get to finally get a Blazblue on PS4 but I've heard that, despite the load times being almost non-existent, the game looks significantly worse at 1080p. I hear this can be remedied somewhat by changing your PS4 to output in 720p. What concerns me however is that some people are saying that the game still does not look as good as it does on PS3. Can anyone clarify this issue? Should I buy the PS3 version to get a best looking experience? I would also like to know if the PS4 version has any other improved performance aspects (like a more consistent frame rate or if it runs smoother in general). Any more info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys P.S. Does anyone have some comparative screenshots or videos they could share?

Hi guys. As many have expressed concern over this matter I figured I'd make a new topic so we can share any information that we may have and hopefully put our worries at ease. Since the two versions are cross-play I don't think we'll have to worry about any major differences in fps performance too much. I'm sure both will run at a steady 60. My main concern is certain visual elements changing or looking less refined/ rougher. Will the only difference be the 720p and 1080p resolutions or will the PS3 version lack some of the partical effects and general nice touches that add to the overall experience that we have seen on the PS4? A video was posted of the TGS PS3 version (the only one I can find): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-NFd90ho88. ElvenShadow was present during the video and has already said in a previous forum that he could not really tell the difference between it and the arcade version. This is a very good sign indeed. But when comparing it to a video of the PS4 version taken at TGS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsYgJKxUOH4 , one can see much more pronounced smoke and dust effects In Elphert's intro. The most noticeable for me is when Elphert's helmet drops, it clearly kicks up dust in the PS4 version, while in the PS3 version (which I know the video is fairly average quality) you cannot see this. Also Milia's intro doesn't seem as polished as some of the PS4 demo footage we have seen (her facial texture I think doesn't look like the same level of quality). Do you guys think this is a simple issue surrounding the quality of the video or that these little touches will be absent due to the PS3's technical restrictions. Or perhaps it was simply the build at TGS and Arc will have more time to optimize the PS3 port before release (since there main focus was to show off the PS4 version). There was also a recent DualShockers article (to be fair I'm not too sure how reliable it is: http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/09/20/guilty-gear-xrd-sign-on-ps4-runs-at-very-stable-60-fps-in-1080p-looks-better-than-the-arcade-version/ ), that first brought this potential issue to my attention. It says that in an interview with Daisuke Ishiwatari, he said that the PS3 version was "difficult to port" because of the PS3's old hardware. We know GGXrd is running on the Sega RingEdge2 which is somewhere between PS3 and PS4 in terms of power (definately way more powerful than the last gen tech). I guess none of this will be game breaking and I'll still be purchasing the PS3 version until I can upgrade, but I'd just like to know if anybody had anymore insights or first hand experiences with the PS3 version as it's very had to get any info. Especially with Arc only really using the PS4 version for promotion, and I don't blame them since they want to show the best looking version of the game. But it would suck if these little differences made it a lesser GGXrd experience for PS3 owners and I'm hoping it just comes down to resolution.

Just to elaborate. When I say that there is more art locked under Clear Bonus than the amount of courses in Unlimited Mars mode, I'm excluding the Abyss Mode art portion (which unlocks without any problems [much like Score Attack it shows you the art but afterward it is then unlocked in the galary like the past Blazblue games]). If we go back to the galary rip again, the Congratulation art from both Unlimited Mars and Score Attack should be unlocked by clearing the respective course.

Unfortunately from what I've seen (from videos of people Clearing Unlimited Mars Mode and the aforementioned gallery rip), clearing Unlimited Mars gives you a different set of Congratulation art than the ones found in Score Attack (makes sense considering the amount of art locked in the Clear Bonus section is clearly far more than the amount of courses in UM mode). But it is quite possible that the same 'glitch' will occur and beating Unlimited Mars mode will show you the art but won't unlock it in the gallery. I don't want to refer to it as a 'glitch' since it is still unconfirmed if anyone has unlocked this art, but at this point it definately appears to be.

Hello all So I’m trying to unlock all the art in BBCP’s gallery. All that’s left is the Clear Bonus CG. I know that half of it is unlocked through Abyss Mode but the other half remains a mystery. I have finally managed to clear all 4 courses in Score Attack Mode (yet to do Unlimited Mars). Clearing a course shows you some nice Congratulation art much like the ones found in Abyss Mode but when you look for it in the gallery it’s nowhere to be found. I’m starting to suspect that this might be a glitch but I hope I’m wrong. My suspicions seem to be somewhat valid though since a rip of the game done by SirRouzel (which can be found here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8582-blazblue-chrono-phantasma-complete-ripped/) shows the exact CG found in Score Attack in the Gallery under the Clear Bonus section. I have already tried the question forum but alas nobody seems to know the answer. I’m starting this threat so that we might finally get some closure on this subject. So if anyone knows how to unlock any specific CG in the Gallery (particularly the ones found in the Clear Bonus Section [other than the abyss ones of course]), please post any info you might have. Also, can anyone who has completed Unlimited Mars Mode confirm that that Congratulation art is unlocked there or if the same problem persists? It should be noted that I’m playing on the North American download version of the game, so any input from those who own other versions would also be greatly appreciated.

It definately is strange. Stranger still is the fact that I found the same Congratulation art in the gallery of a rip somebody did of the game (I believe it was SirRouzel). If we go by the way it was organised (with the Abyss art being in the exact same place and order as in the game), then the Congratulation Score Attack art should also be unlocked and found under Clear Bonus CG. Starting to suspect that our inablility to unlock it might the result of a glitch. I guess it's a mystery for the ages. But I would be grateful if somebody could confirm this. Would like to try and unlock 100% of the gallery but it seems almost impossible now. -

Hey guys I was just wondering: how do you unlock the Clear Bonus CG for Score Attack in CP's Gallery? Already finished 2 courses with Bullet and was shown the Congratulation art but when I looked for it in the gallery, it was nowhere to be seen. Tried searching about this issue and found other people having the same problem. For a moment I thought maybe you had to finish Score Attack with numerous characters but that doesn't make sense since finishing a course in Abyss Mode gives you the art no problem. Not too sure if the same thing happens with Unlimited Mars since I am still yet to complete it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
