  1. I apologize for my extended inactivity in this over the past month or so. I managed to get on today and do some labbing with my scrubby Axl for a bit, and over the next several days hope to be on frequently and start playing some games. Beware of connection if you live outside the Midwest/Northeast.
  2. I had a brief stint playing BB, but got distracted and forgot about it, so I decided I'd give GG a shot. I'm ass at the game right now so the practice would be great. NeutralityEX | Michigan |
  3. For USFIV, you might want to try Viper. She's not straight rushdown, but has a pretty strong mixup game and can shut down a lot of things with her ambiguous-as-hell Burn Kick. That, and she plays more like an anime fighter character to begin with than most of the SF cast. She also has great stage control with her Seismos, so there's another check on your wish list.
  4. I'm also new to BB. Like StylisH above said, you could look in the Match Finder, but if you were looking to make specific improvement you'd be best off checking your character's subforum and reading up on them and/or posting videos of your matches for critique.
  5. Thanks for all the replies. I'll be sure to try all the characters mentioned.
  6. Hello all. Though I've had some experience in more traditional fighters, I just started playing BB and I'm looking to settle on a main to finally start solidifying my development. I generally lean toward more defensive zoning characters, especially charge ones (think Remy in 3S and Ash in KOF). As it stands, my execution isn't great but is improving, so I'm willing to play someone more challenging. I've gotten through a few character challenges, but most of the beginner characters I see recommended, like Ragna, Jin, or Noel, really don't fit the defensive description. Any advice?
  7. Yeah, I know. Square gates just bug the hell out of me, so I've always got ones with octagonal gates/added them later. It's not bad for most people, but I'm just stuck in ways already. Even though I've mained characters that use charge motions in almost every fighter I've played, it just feels too restrictive in movement to me.

Some people may like that, some not. I personally couldn't live without my octagonal gate, but whatever works for you. Square gates are pretty nice if you main characters that use a lot of charge motions.
  9. My suggestion: http://www.amazon.com/Qanba-Q4-Q4RAF-Black-Fightstick/dp/B007SGGLZW Solid stick and comes with Sanwa parts. Pretty reasonable at $170, but if you're looking something cheaper there are other good options.
