  1. It's not the damage from Heat Riser that makes his suggestion sound, it's the buff. As Adachi, a 10% boost to offense and defense should be taken if the opportunity presents jtself, and the damage equaling other combos is just the icing on the cake. I haven't watched the game in question, so maybe you already had the buff. Either way, as long as you don't play recklessly and lose Magastu-Izanagi you should always try to have that buff to help you throughout the match.
  2. You're the only person so far that I've heard with that opinion to be honest. Even as a pretty average player at best, I personally feel much better about everyone in this game than the last. The devs at the very least aimed to fix as many issues with every character as possible. On the topic of competitive play though, are there any recent sets or tourneys that I can watch? Or anyone who routinely uploads Ultimax gameplay?
  3. Holy shit, remind me not to get cornered by an awakened Adachi.
  4. I do, but typically only after 5C. The people I play aren't typically very good so I can get away with things like 5/2DD ~ 5C ~ 2C. I do love it though, a good 5C hit can lead to some pretty sweet setups and or damage depending on what you want. Sometimes I'll throw it out raw as a zoning tool, which seems to be decent depending on if you're trying to read an IAD or something. Definitely a lost card though if you aren't careful. Speaking of which, when muted and/or Persona Broken, what combos and BnBs do you guys usually use? I usually hit 5C in my power charge combos, and I haven't tested anything without Tomoe yet. Or is it more footisies and grabs that you guys use?
  5. I guess I oughta try that more often then. I guess I might be too overconfident, because I get hit way too much. Kill rush after a knockdown demands respect too, right? I can't seem to Furious or out-mash it.
  6. We oughta get a matchup thread going for discussion. I have a friend who mains Akihiko, and it's really stressful to play him. I'm not very good, so I'm trying to learn both the game and the matchups behind it, I feel like this friend in particular plays pretty transparently but even then, I almost always end up getting beat out by his A mashing. Is it just that good, or should I go about playing safer with Tomoe and zoning? I bait his Furious A. and 5A frequently, but in neutral I still tend to lose more I feel like. I do approach pretty haphazardly usually though.
  7. Xbl: Seran Zealot I think I'm pretty set on picking up Yukiko as a secondary to my Chie. (BFF mains ftw) I'd love to know what other Fan-dancers are out there and want to learn me
  8. Well in this game you can land counter-hits off of recovery frames so there are moments where you don't even have to confirm anything. 5B (CH) ~ 2DD is easy enough to land, so it's more getting used to the act of reacting to something. I use 5B as a poke alot because I fish for CHs, but I probably shouldn't do. I end up eating shit for running into something.
  9. I appreciate the advice, and the Skype group invitation. I don't really use Skype at all though, let alone my PC. Though, if that changes anytime soon I'd like to. I'm at least glad to know SB Agi isn't imperative to her play
  10. Hey guys, I'm thinking about picking up Yukiko but I'm not sure if I'll main her. How important would you say her SB Agi is in her combo game? Can you make do without it? Also, what staples should I keep in mind with my game-plan? I know I'm not too keen on making use of fire boost and break. Should I be going for them immediately after I land a combo?
  11. AAA ~ mid-air special/DP cancels are hype as balls. Not much you can get from them though 'cept style points, at least not off neutral hits.
  12. Real men loop Double Fangs 20 times without seeing it first.
  13. Thunder God dance isn't even difficult in itself. Slowly go through each command and it'll save you from the stress of mashing. The hard part is ladning the damn thing, then again I don't play Yu so I don't know combos into it. Also, do navigators only carry over if they've been purchased? I had Mitsuru and Teddie from P4A,but they didn't transfer. Apparently my friend, has some he never purchased that did carry over. (I still think he forgot and just bought them)
  14. I'm currently stuck on that link as well. I'd recommend just practicing Mandala into B (or from burst). Usually I break combos up into separate parts to learn timings I'm having trouble with. You kinda just have to experiment for most things. Or maybe you could just count? I tend to watch the camera to judge my opponents height myself.
  15. I haven't done it against all the cast, but you aren't pushing them out of range with a dash or attack are you? At first I had a small problem connecting B after 2DD but it was just me not waiting for the final hit to knock them up.
  16. Sure was annoying to not have a spammable Counter with Chie, but it's all over now at last. Kind of salty I couldn't earn Adachi through Score Attack, I wanted something to so while waiting for sets.
  17. There was some advice in the previous page I believe. I just cleared all 4 Routes on Risky yesterday myself. I found AoA's to be pretty useful. They seem to have gotten buffed, at least for some characters. Chie's is able to armor through lots of stuff, but it's slower. and I was able to evade Ghastly Wails sometimes too. i just realized you play Elizabeth, I've never touched her myself so I can't offer much there. Usually you can simply get away with As and AoAs until Awakening, where you'll have to wait for a wake-up super or something. Fuck Yukari though, she might be worse for me.
  18. By the way, is that "recover 8 cards with the speed of 4" still a thing? I haven't played any actual Margarets so I don't know.
  19. Your skills ain't gonna not slip with that attitude son. Suck it up and reach out to the truth. I spent all day today doing nothing but run up auto combos, but I doubt I'll be doing that online, myself.
  20. All of them? Dear god, may the odds ever be in my favor.
  21. Hey,as far as navigators go, am I missing something? I've completed Score Attack with Naoto and I've also done all of Chie's challenges but neither seem to net any reward.
  22. Unlike others, I don't seem to be having input errors anymore. The game definitely feels "heavier", but also more solid. I had issues with inputs such as 236 at first, but they're really no problem now, I almost feel like the windows are larger than before. I do miss the sensitivity from before though. I haven't seen this before, but I can check it out myself in a few minutes.
  23. Edit: Was probably just my composure in actual games.
  24. Hello everyone, I'm new to the scene and would really like to play with people. I'm having a real hard time figuring out how to handle a shitton of things in the game. I just want to improve by the time Ultimax releases.
  25. That list if for every track in the game, yeah? Because I find it hard to understand why tracks like The Fighter would be available for battle.
