I was planning to go to the new place this Saturday. I prefer RikRic, but I go to Ultra every now and then too because playing on Stream can be fun.

Since these seem like they're going to be regular things could we update the original post with this information? Putting Guilty Gear at Ultra can't hurt either.

Would there be enough interest for an Under Night In-Birth tournament?

I don't need to do anything special to mount it? Just unscrew the one that's there and screw the new plate in?

Are the Hayabusa sticks easy to replace with Sanwa? Does it require any soldering? I really want to get a HORI stick because I like the L3 and R3 buttons that MadCatz don't have, but based on what I have used I prefer Sanwa sticks.

I have a super weird question and I am hoping this is the right place for it. In the PS3 version you are able to map Taunt to the Select button. On the PS4 version are you able to map it to either Option or the Touchpad button?

It depends. Ultra Arcade is where the better players are but finding anybody to actually play with is usually a crapshoot based on my experience. I've stayed there for hours and not had anybody even take a glance at me several times. At OtakuCafe you can usually get some casuals in with random people and some of the staff actually like playing a lot of the anime games and aren't too bad at some of them. (It completely depends on who's working that day.) I think OtakuCafe has a way better atmosphere, but there's not really a "scene" for Guilty Gear or BlazBlue there yet. For some bizarre reason there's almost always somebody playing Continuum Shift but people tend to ignore CPX. I don't get it, but it shows the interest is there. I think the newer games just need some promotion and this tournament should help. Like SkyKing said, this tournament is mainly to gauge interest. They do weekly Gundam and Smash tournaments that have a very nice turnout (especially Smash) but this BlazBlue one is their first time doing an actual fighting game. I think they meant programmed combos, not ABC mapped to one button.

Didn't see you guys there. The game is so different. Very little of Ragna's moves in the corner stayed the same but Hazama seems a lot more flexible. They're holding a tournament on May 3rd for Chronophantasma Extend but the time isn't set in stone yet. I'll post more information when I have it.

Whelp. Looks like they were closed again. Wanna check out the new BlazBlue on Thursday at OtakuCafe? Thursday is their Smash Bros. night but I'm sure most people will be occupied with that. Should be at least one free cabinet.

I'm going to be heading to Ultra tomorrow to see if that Tuesday thing is still happening. OtakuCafe is supposed to have BlazBlue CPE on launch day Thursday if anybody else wants to go. I'll probably be heading there around 7 both nights.

What did you think of it? Last saturday they finally got their console cabinets in.

Went out to Ultra today expecting some Xrd but it looks like they're remodeling. If anybody hasn't checked out OtakuCafe down the street now would be a great time. They have Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, UNIEL, Dengeki Bunko and others, plus import cabinets with games that are rotated regularly. The nice thing about it over Ultra is that depending on the time of day you go you can actually get some casuals in with random people. At Ultra that rarely happens unless you're playing something like Street Fighter. I've run into SkyKing there a few times, anyone else been?

Last weekend I was busy but this Saturday they're doing a tourney so maybe we could start up again the week after?

Ultra's been pretty empty lately. Anyone else interested in starting up a biweekly thing on Fridays again?

Hey guys, I'm from Texas but I'm going to be in Chicago this weekend. Is the first post still accurate and is there anything I should know if I decide to check out the local scene?
