Yeah the CPU is OK for practicing some combo you learned on a moving target. In the end, it all comes with experience. The more you play, the more you will get used to seeing/being in all these situations.
-
Play a lot, and ask questions. Playing against the CPU won't really help you out at all. CPU's don't behave the same as real people do. Playing real people online (or offline) will help you understand the game much better and faster. You won't learn how to play neutral against a bot. Watching high level matches of people who play your character to see what they're doing is also very helpful. There is tons of videos and resources on how to get into FG's on this site and on YouTube. If you're pretty much just starting out, you're in the right place.

Taking better care of your "other" equipment. Physical Injuries, etc.

Warm up your body before you start playing matches. Doing wrist and hand exercises before you start playing will allow your muscles to warm up and "breath" when you actually start playing. For example: Whenever I play a show or have rehearsal, I always warm up my entire body before I start playing. I do this so I don't get tired/play like shit when playing extremely fast (Blast Beats, Double Bass, etc.) This applies to Musicians, Athletes, or anything else stressful on your body. -

I know that JavaScript is pretty common in game development among other things. Same goes for Java. -

As far as next gen sticks go, I think the cheapest you'll be able to get away with is the Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai on amazon. All PS4 sticks are currently backwards compatible with PS3, so that's nice if you plan on getting both consoles at some point. -

Rebudget? If by Rebudget you mean buy your own stuff? Yeah I think that would work. You obviously don't care enough about making content if you won't spend your own money. If you don't care, I can assure you that I don't care. Considering you won't address anyone's points or concerns about your "project," I can't tell if you're just delusional, or completely dishonest. No one is going to fund your hobby for you. -

Never thought I'd see this "go fund me" YouTube stuff on dustloop. Not sure why you need $4,000 to start a YouTube channel. Especially when you have no credibility whatsoever. Pretty ballsie. If you really do want to make a FGC channel, buy just what you need to get you started Making content. You don't need sound proofing and all that other bullshit. Your kickstarter reeks of amateurish and unrealistic goals, and honestly seems like a scam. -
What's everyone's impression of the AC+R Steam port?
MechaBaphomet replied to balFrog's topic in Guilty Gear General
Uncompressed audio files are pretty big. It really adds up when you have a lot of tracks. Edit: Also It doesn't sound like a real drummer playing on some of the Xrd music (like the tracks that came with the LE). It really sounds like a drum machine. That's probably why it the drums sound weird. I'm not sure if Fumiya Played on Xrd's OST. -
Why did Ram get knocked down so far? I know you can hit he swords now but what else did they do to her?

The NEW Michigan Thread - Salt Mines and People Power! ... Kupo.

Hey everyone, I was wondering where casuals or tournaments are being held at. I'm located over in the Brighton area and wanted to start playing locally with the scene. I play pretty much all FGs (SF,BB,P4U,UNIEL,etc.) But mainly GG. -
I keep my taunt button all the way on L1 that way I won't accidentally hit it during a match and look like an idiot. But I keep it there just in case I gotta use it... My layout: Record and playback are on the vacant slots. P S D T K H - -

I use type D (I think?). But Just like Hollysmoke said, it comes down to what you find comfortable. I suggest messing around with your button layout in training mode until you find something that works for you. As far as most popular goes, I see a lot of people use type A, but I personally find that one really weird.

You can IAD over his HS projectile if you don't want to get pinned down. I sometimes will IAD over it and use j.HS to catch him running in after it. I wouldn't recommend doing it a lot because they could bait it and AA you. j.HS can beat AA's if you space it right though.
-
Do people really struggle with this matchup? All I do is zone him with stun edges through grinders until I get a knock down, or wait for him to jump/IAD and AA him. When he gets in and starts doing pressure is where it starts to get tricky. Don't panic, keep an eye out for his pretty fast overheads and his parry. You need to learn where the holes in his pressure are. You can also grab his run/dash through move fairly easy (especially if he uses carelessly). I never have too much trouble with this MU, although I haven't fought any extremely good Leo players.

I'm going to be running a newbie/intermediate lobby later this week (most likely Thursday and/or Saturday). Everyone is welcome to join whether you are a Guilty Gear vet, or a complete noob, as long as you have the right attitude and are willing to learn. I recommend shooting me a friend request on PSN so I can see who is interested along with a way to send out the lobby codes (since GG doesn't have a direct way of inviting). I'll announce more info as things develop. -
Core Skills That Every Great Player Has Mastered
MechaBaphomet replied to thekiyote's topic in Guilty Gear General
This discussion got real dumb real fast. All the people who think "talent" is so cut and dry I guess have never spent years developing a difficult skill. Talent is a word that parents use to describe a 10 year old that can play "Smoke on the Water" on the guitar. The natural aptitude of a person towards a skill, only really applies when you are first picking up that said skill. I picked up drums pretty fast compared to other people, partly because of my natural aptitude to music, and mostly because I spent 6 hours a day, EVERY DAY, for years developing my skills. No one is born a god at any skill. Some people are born with an aptitude for that skill that helps them learn it. Don't bring genetics into a discussion about being good at a video game. If you don't work hard on something you will never be good. As a musician, this is beyond insulting. -

Most good players play in lobby or player matches. You can get more games in and play long sets in lobby/player. There are a lot of random people in ranked that play really stupid because they play different people every game and some times that dumb stuff works in laggy ranked matches. I felt the same way when I started playing ranked. My Ky wasn't even that great at the time, but I won 15 games in a row. When you start out in ranked, there are a lot of people who don't even know how to play at all. Once you start getting into Lvl 13+ people start to get good. -
Yeah, I don't do it anymore, it was just something that really screwed me over when I first started playing. In my head I was thinking (hoping) that they wouldn't expect it or that I could get in using it. Its an amazing move when you know when and where to use it. I think its a problem a lot of people have when they are new to Ky.
-
I approve of this. For me when I started out, I was spamming Stun Dipper with Ky.

GunFrame - available for Android and iOS (Updated: 1/22)
MechaBaphomet replied to AnBi2199's topic in Guilty Gear General
I love the app so far. It's very useful. You should add a frame trap menu on the main menu and on the character pages. FA Tool is a good example of this. Keep up the great work!- 90 replies

I'll probably run some lobbies in the future if people are interested. Most likely on off days that mixed isn't hosting. My schedule has been pretty screwed up recently, so I haven't been able to be a part of the main lobbies.
