Getting mopped by any half decent Leos - just want to say I hate this matchup! I read the matchup thread but still can't get the hang of it

Frostys was great, went 1-2 in pools but got a lot of great matches in casuals and I learned a whole lot. I lost a slayer mirror because I dropped 2 match winning combos from nerves, then got bodied by a Ram in losers. Had no idea what to do besides BDC fd jump out of mixup but I couldnt get a solid hit to get anything going. Like I said I had a lot of fun, I have a new outlook for training on net play and I plan on going back to chicago for Combo Breaker to do better than 1-2 :p

Interesting stuff, the Faust win rates have a very similar trend to Sol in regards to Hase vs en and tana, wonder if that's from playing outside of Mikado (nage?) As well

I watched the first 20 minutes or so during dinner last night and the thing I remember recognizing is that in the corner there was a fair amount of c.s f.s 6h strings you were doing in the corner and being poked out of. I recently noticed this in my own game and I think that's why I picked up on it. Mixing in some cs fs 5k to Iad j.s j.k restart pressure, or even throwing in some fdc bite/normal throw attempts helps too. Depending on the poke they use if they anticipate a 6h I've had good luck with fdc bite catching them on whiff/going back to blocking This may have been corrected later in the set I didn't watch the whole video though

Ive practiced that a tiny bit in training but I don't think I've ever used it in a match I'll brush up a bit. I think I'll be able to get shaky cam vids of my matches if I do I'll post one or two

Wellp I pre-regd and got my room for FF8. Will be my first out of state tourney though not my first tourney.. hopefully I don't scrub out completely though just excited to play people offline. Just worried about my match up experience more than anything specifically Faust and bedman. No idea how to play those matches at all as I haven't run across many online. The few prominent Bedmans that play online I don't have a great connection with -_-

To revive a conversation from a few pages back, UP>6p corner oki is there any usability outside of reading/catching backdash? Still trying to work my way up from the bottom rung of the ladder. I recall seeing hase doing it pretty frequently in match videos bit I was just watching and not analyzing so I don't recall if it was match up specific or not

If you're not enjoying playing Slayer, don't play him and pick a different character. Unless trolling, you've apparently broken your hand from breaking a gamepad and go through "withdrawls" from not playing him so you should maybe see a therapist rather than an online forum...

OK gotcha. Like I said I'm still relatively new coming from an sf background so the more reason able option for this sounds like what Fogelstrom said with the 6p. I don't think the backdash is THAT big of an issue in the matches i've played but one specific long set it was killing me and I was just trying to read it with 6k. 6p would seem like a much better option but I didn't even think of that. One of the issues I'm having as I'm learning more about the game is its very tough to condition players online. The only offline scene here is a decent size group of sf players but nobody likes or wants to learn gg. I feel like a large part of slayers game is based on them respecting your buttons and I feel like I have a hard time getting to that point in a match. Am I off base here? I still have a lot to learn so it may just be me.

Hey guys relatively new player here with a few questions.. should characters be able to completely backdash out of up->2k oki or am I just messing it up? This was specifically against a May player if that makes any difference. She was getting out clean then hitting my recovery with her own 2k? The other question I have is there any sort of option select (a la sf4) against backdash? It doesn't seem that way but I don't honestly know. Thanks in advance. Also after posting I realize the May backdash question was answered a few posts above.. just looking for an answer about the backdash os.
