  1. AniClash continues next week at the usual time. Place your registrations for AniClash XI! AniClash XI - February 21th 2015 - 7PM EST - Info --> http://challonge.com/aniclashbb11 Sign up/Register --> http://challonge.com...gnup/KHkLboJ6EK
  2. It seems like Nerd is hosting a BBCP 2v2 Tournament on the same day: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8956-burning-up-special-valentines-bbcp-psn-2v2-tournament-when-february-14th-530/ Regardless, AniClash X (see registration details in the OP) will proceed as planned. If necessary ,we can delay the tournament for 30 minutes or so, if there is a large portion of the entrants MIA.
  3. Awesome. Would be glad to have you again.
  4. Updated OP Info on AniClash 9. Place your registrations for AniClash 9! AniClash 9 - February 7th 2015 - 7PM EST - Info --> http://challonge.com/aniclashbb9 Sign up/Register --> http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/znCc446DFu Also, AniClash 7 and 8 vids are up on my Youtube Channel, and AniClash Yukianesa Vids will be up by this weekend, so stay tuned. https://www.youtube.com/AnimeInspirations
  5. JacopeX, I looked into the tournament system used at major tournaments (in-person). Traditionally, they use pool groups and everyone plays each other (or however many rounds deemed necessary) and gather points through wins. From each pool, a certain number of players would move on into the "double elimination tournament bracket". So essentially, this could reduce 100 players to say 20, if there were 20 players in each pool, with the top 5 placing moving on. There are a number of problems. Most notable, being the fact that I didn't advertise the tournament as having pool play prior, so I am sure it would throw people off if I changed the rules now. Regardless, it is something I would like to try in the future, and I am sure we can test it out at the smaller AniClash tournaments. Another issue, I remember just now, is the fact that it would throw off the seeing points I arranged prior. "Seeding Points" were awarded to players based on prior AniClash Performance, and they will be seeded in the bracket based on such. More info here: http://animeinspirations.com/aniclash/index.php?title=AniClash_Yukianesa_Seeding_Points Other potentially problems can crop up, like logistics of running a live tournament vs. a netplay one. Yes, there are measures we can put in place for that, but it would take the cooperation of the entire tournament player base helping (reporting scores, keeping up with PSN exchange, being prompt). Another being, the limited time frame that we have on tournament day. Most people would expect the tournament to finish in about 5 hours time. An example scenario. Let's say we have 50 entrants and we split them into pools of 10 players. There would be 9 rounds of pools (where everyone would play each other atleast once). We could then have the top 2 or 3 from each pool move onto the final elimination bracket. Now, if we have a short "PSN" exchange at the beginning of pool play, it may make it easier for players to add each other. Stream wise, we would probably select one match from one particular pool each round to be played on stream, while the rest of the matches are played simultaneously. If everything went smoothly, pools under this system would take ~2-3 hours (2 being generous as I expect delays) to reduce our players to a sizeable amount for the final bracket (10-16). This system would be something I would like to try at the next tournament (and major) possibly, as it is the system most locals/regionals/nationals use and gives competitiors more play time (rather than 2 and out in most cases). If you had another idea for "Multiple Brackets" let me know. Regardless, I think it is too late to be changing the tournament format (in my opinion).
  6. I don't believe that was the main issue. A large part of the delays were due to the fact that we tried to stream every match in winner's of a 40+ man tournament. If we choose 4-5 matches per round in winner's to stream and have everyone else play at the same time, I am sure things will run a lot smoother. And can someone explain what multiple brackets will do? Would that involve dividing the participants, creating another tournament and doing things that way? If so, that would be a major pain in the rear, as people would have to reference two different challonge brackets, confusion as to what players are on which bracket and other problems. Again, things were handled very poorly during AniClash 2 just due to the fact that many players had to wait 2-3 hours for their first match. Round 1 Winner's 5 Matches on Stream (Everyone else in round 1 players 1 hour Loser's can start offstream when available ----- Round 2 Winner's 5 matches on stream (Everyone else in round 2 plays) 1 hour Loser's Off stream ----- Round 3 Winner's 5 Matches on stream Everyone else in round 3 plays 1 hour Rest of Winner's streamed ---- We will pick up (Stream) Loser's beginning with Round 5/6 depending on time. Based on these plans, Winner's finals should be decided 3 hours in, with the tournament ending around midnight EST. If we really do get 50-60 entrants, we can cut the on stream matches to 3 or 4 per round.
  7. Updated Registered Player Count : 33 http://challonge.com/aniclashyukianesa I will post a link soon with details about AniClash Yukianesa Seeding Points. I am working on an AniClash series wiki, which should be live soon. Still a WIP though. Test bracket (showing seeding examples). http://challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator?ref=WhUvkTpx5r In this example, a top ranked seed (top placings at previous AniClash tournaments) would be playing unseeded players (those who did not place at prior AniClash, or new members). Yes, its true that new entrants could could defeat those ranked high (as the underdog) but there is less chance of this happening.
  8. Updated information in the OP with information about AniClash 8. It will be this Saturday 1/17/15 at 7PM EST
  9. Updated the OP with information on AniClash 7. It will be held this weekend. Place your registrations for AniClash 7! AniClash 7 - January 10th 2015 - 2PM EST - Info --> http://challonge.com/aniclashbb7 Sign up/Register --> http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/HCWG0zNcza
  10. Starting in like 20 min. Stream will be up shortly. Any questions, ask in the twitch before the tournament.
  11. Hey guys. Just wanted to let everyone know that the stream will be up at around 6PM EST. There won't be a whole lot of time for friendlies unfortunately. However, I am sure if you are having problems with the sign up process on challonge (or haven't found a partner yet) we can work those out in the time prior.
  12. I am going to host some friendlies on stream 1/2/15 This Friday, probably sometime in the afternoon EST (follow the twitch channel and you will get a notification). For those of you still looking for a partner, hopefully it will help out. There won't be much stream time for friendlies on Saturday as we have to get right into things, so again, the prior day will be a good opportunity to find someone. Thanks for your participation! Seems like it will be a very tough team to beat xD
  13. Here is a test bracket to take a look at an example: http://challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator?ref=c2Qc3TPQaE According to the bracket options in challonge, things seem to auto-configure themselves. For example, with a 28 man tournament (approximation) there will be 4 brackets. 4 in winners and 4 in losers. Participants will be seeded according to their results in the previous AniClash tournaments. High seeds would be the players that placed at least in the top 4, and I am considering placing well known talented players (Dreiko, HallowHaven) below that. Under these players will be the general entrants. Again, I don't have much experience with seeding, but its just my general ideas right now. A small chart of seeding approximation. AniClash Victors and top Placings (1st-4th ranked in order of accomplishments) ---------- Well Known Players (High skill level, no AniClash attendance) ----------- Other players The middle tier is an exception, as I know those 2 players have adequate skill beyond most. There are probably others, as I am not knowledge on all of the players in the BBCP netplay scene. Still, there is obviously the chance that a well known player will fly under the radar, so nothing is perfect.
  14. Updated the OP with the "now current" payouts. That means up to $96.00 with a first place Jin finish! 27 people are signed up for Yukianesa atm. Going to be hype! I am expecting atleast 40 come tournament day. A common trend in past AniClashes is that we have recieved ~+40% increase in registrations in the days leading to the tournament (especially the hours prior when the stream goes live). At the bare minimum, a 35 person tournament. FYI, not all winner's bracket will be played on stream, we will select the most exciting matches from the earlier rounds to speed the tournament along.
  15. Updated information in the OP with info regarding AniClash Teams (2v2) a tournament that will be held in two weeks. Please note the following important information: Any more questions about the tournament, and if you need help with registering, let me know.
  16. OP was updated. Check the upcoming teams tournament we are hosting the first weekend in January. There is the GameFaqs vs Dustloop thing apparently going on before hand on the same day, not sure if they will be finished or not. Regardless, we'll still be hosting AniClash. We have 16 people signed up for AniClash 6 atm. Place your registrations for AniClash Teams! AniClash Teams - January 3rd 2015 6:30PM EST - Info --> http://challonge.com/aniclashbbteams Create your Team ! (Must be done through Challonge) http://challonge.com/teams/new Sign up (Must have the team registered) -- http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/USgvxg0Ob4 AniClash 6 info is in the OP.
  17. Take that date man! (Been awhile since I had one xD) Friendlies will be going live in about an hour, and the tournament starts in ~3.5 hours. 8PM Eastern. http://www.twitch.tv/anime_inspirations
  18. Updated the OP. 75% of AniClash 4 has been uploaded. You can find the videos on my channel. See everyone this weekend. By the way, I will have a friendlies lobby up for most of the day, probably starting around 10AM EST on the 13th. https://www.youtube.com/AnimeInspirations
  19. There is $0 Entry fee for Yukianesa if that is what you were referring to. No cost to register. About seeding, I am going to seed in some way based on results from the prior AniClash Tournaments. Hopefully this answers your questions? See you at AniClash 6.
  20. Awesome job on commentary Mace. Hope to have you back in the future. These tournaments take approximately 5 hours, based on 20 entrants (our usual turnout). If we get more, additional matches can be played off stream. You are free to enter and drop out if you have to go, HOWEVER, you must notify us when you are leaving, so that if you win the match prior, your opponent can move on. I'll update the OP later on with AniClash 5 info. For now though, AniClash 5 is December 13th, 8PM EST http://challonge.com/aniclashbb5
  21. Updated the OP, check that for information of AniClash 4. I know its the same week as NEC, so there will probably be a low turnout. More stream exposure for the people who do show up, however. If we get less than 16 entrants, I may enter myself. All videos from AniClash 3 have been uploaded https://www.youtube.com/AnimeInspirations Remember to vote in our survey to determine the next pot bonus tournament after Yukianesa, and other special tournaments! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/63V5PG7 Terumi is in the lead with 5 Rachel 3 Ragna/Bullet/Makoto 2
  22. Pretournament Lobby Friendlies/Stream is up: http://www.twitch.tv/anime_inspirations Room Name: Pre AniClash 3 Pre tournament will be up until ~1am EST today. Tomorrow Pretournament will be up ~6PM EST
  23. Ok that would be interesting. (If I'm not broke that is LOL). Conveniently enough, I have some statistics from the last 2 tournaments. The purpose of this was to attempt to calculate seeding points for AniClash Yukianesa, it's still a WIP, but interesting stats not the less. Pretty much, 1st placings would have the greatest priority, followed by number of entrants. Player's placing 1st-4th in prior tournaments would have greater priority than lower results. Seeding itself is a little iffy when not every player is ranked, but it would at least eliminate the top placers from eliminating each other early in Yukianesa (when money is on the line). Of course, there is always the possibility of a very good player showing up (not from prior tournaments) and wrecking house. Quite a bit of number crunching. The most important thing to consider are players below the cut of 9th and below as they would not be seeded (but I don't have too much data atm, so its hard to evaluate). AniClash Yukianesa Seeding (Results from AniClash 1-2) 1st - xAzureFlameGod [-/1st(44)] 2nd - KwRIOT [1st(11)/-] 3rd - JacopeX [-/2nd(44)] 4th - Omni-Zero [-/3rd(44)] 5th - DividedXZero [2nd(11)/-] 6th - Bio_NightShadow [3rd(11)/5th(44)] 7th - ThankYouSenpai [-/4th(44)] 8th - byakuya234 [4th(11)/13th(44)] Number in parenthesis is the number of participants at the tournament they placed in. Anyways, that round robin idea is an interesting one.
  24. Do you know if NEC will be streamed? Even so, it would be nice to see some vids from that tourney. Curious how you will do! Best of luck man.
  25. Ok, thanks. I will take this advice into account for next tournament.
