  1. That's voting but you actually need to expend points while playing at the arcades to do it so I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea. It will encourage more people to play the game and rile each player base. I don't think it will necessarily be dominated by top tiers
  2. The side tourney at Evo was cool. Almost 50 entrants. Everybody got a pencil boards and the upper half placers got a hoodie or track jacket.

  8. Is there gonna be a side tourney at Evo? I haven't played or kept up with the community for months but would like to play some people.
  9. ^I play Miyuki. I'm probably not the best guy out there but I know some sweg combos. Also GG's to everybody I netplayed over the past week. I took a month off from FG's but looking to start playing this more again.
  10. Tatsuya is actually a decent Partner but he was as low as bottom 3 in arcade usage rate recently. Between near-guaranteed on activation counter into (depending on character) big combo damage of Accelerator and sealed buttons of Tatsuya, most will prefer the former. Not to mention Accelerator's 6S is one of the best projectiles in the game as a zoning tool as well as a combo extender. I personally don't think Izaya is that good of a Partner (he's one of the worst in the game IMO) as 5S is not that fast and can be blocked after activation in many cases. His 6S also scales a lot and most characters can't use it effectively mid-combo. Tatsuya in particular is actually a really good partner for Shizuo. Activated 5S seal will guarantee two C command grabs and 6S is a decent way to add damage to his super combo.
  11. She's a decent character overall with good range normals, a strong set of EX specials and the only character that can super mid-air (Strike the Blood). She also has a very interesting Potential, which disables the opponent's Reflection Guard for 20 seconds after she lands two EX specials in a round - and she has multiple routes in which she can perform two EX specials in a combo. Her weakness is the lack of consistent anti-air. 2A+B is tall but can be easily safe-jumped against and 2C puts her at a low profile but it's slow. I like Kojyo with her but she can be paired with just about anybody since she has really flexible combo routes and one of the better 5A+B in the game.
  12. Frustrating for which player? I think it's a fairly even match up unless Yukina activates her Potential (disables Reflect Guard for 20 seconds) when Mikoto is low on meter. I was playing on the PS3 ver not too long ago and there was no such update.
  13. Naw but I assume it is in works. Seems like SS will be the last hold-over update. Hopefully we will hear about it this fall or winter.
  14. AH3 is still the best fighting game ever designed but I personally don't see much incentive to play at the moment until SIXSTARS!!!!!! or AH4 hits consoles.
  15. In my personal experience, any 4 bars is usually playable (although you will feel slight lag regardless). 3 bars can range from somewhat playable to bad.
  16. I wouldn't even rely on the connection display and just take your proximity with the player (assuming you know the person) into account. The display for 3 and 4 are both generous in this game.
  17. Good times tonight, especially with Zerashi making his glorious return. Also, for the sake of keeping variety alive (and in Lloyd's absence) I may start running free DFC tourneys on Mondays starting next week.
  18. I'm looking for more people to netplay with at 4 bars (anything less is just not pleasant). Feel free to add me if you live in Illinois or neighboring states.
  19. One feature I wish they added was connection filter for Player Match rooms. I'm pretty happy with the update as a whole, though.
  20. I don’t play Selvaria but Kino (5S), Accelerator (6S) and Kojou (6S) can all be used to keep rushdown happy characters in check pre-emptively. If you want me to pick one, I would say Kino since her 5S is extremely fast compared to just about any other projectile assists in the game but for overall utility I like Accelerator better. Recharge time after his 6S is really fast and 5S can discourage Shana from shooting fireballs across the screen.

  22. lol I also had to DQ him and ShinSyn because they were too busy with their main games. I won't post the full results because of it but Doug won (played every match except the seeded bye in the first round) and I was second (played every match). Also, Hero 3-0'd beno in mid-bracket play... don't ask why.
  23. Trap Gunner was extremely fun. I still need to actually practice Xrd. Wish I could of have played more UNIEL casuals. Thanks for everybody that entered the DFC tourney and sorry for the delays due to it taking place during the heat of Xrd and UMVC3 tourneys.
