I'm running a Kickstarter, and looking for input
ThaddeusScherzo replied to ThaddeusScherzo's topic in Beginner Mode
That being said, I'll be doing the rest of my work/preparation/practice in private, and due to things like the above comment, I doubt I'll use the same pseudonym, as I suspect the dripping sarcasm would pursue me for quite some time. Thank you to everyone who had helpful advice, and if and administer is present, please close my account, as I no longer need it. Many blessings! -

Thanks! I know it's a bit rough, but I believe we all agree it looks better than a...certain piece of mine. It feels much easier to draw with my finger than a mouse, so I imagine that if I can sketch something on my new app, then touch it up on gimp, I can make some substantially better art! -

I apologize for posting twice in a row, but I wanted to keep this separate. I've been working on my digital art, and found a good free sketching app. What do you think of this piece? ...which has uploaded very small... -

I'm very grateful for the positive/positively interpreted response, too! I feel that I could still use some advice, but I don't want to keep getting random "get a job"-type comments. Should I just create a separate topic to preserve this one, or should I just keep it all here? -

I have decided to do just that. I intend to bide my time, and create my dream channel in all it's glory by myself. I may or may not have established that clearly here. The primary function of this discussion now is for advice to me and others like me (and game designers, I suppose) The kick starter is live already, so I don't think I can take it down, and perhaps I'll be fortunate with the results, but I am otherwise indifferent towards it. -

Yes, and I can safely say that I've learned a ton from this, so thanks to everyone who gave me advice for that! I'll certainly admit that the concept of Patreon is very exciting to me! As an aside,I actually have discussed this all with Mike Z and his following, but you have been much more helpful than them (not to be intended as the Skullgirls community being useless, but rather I've gained much more information here). As a side note, does the steam version of acpr have an online mode? Or do I need to install a mod? I heard there was one for x2, but why bother with an outdated version? Either way, I do like the free soundtrack. That's a nice touch! -

The game just doesn't line up with my morals, and those are something I can't compromise. -

What if I tossed something in the bear trap to trigger it, and came with a parachute? All jokes aside... On the subject of more bang for bucks, is there a better value recorder than the elgato? $150 is an OK price, but I'd still rather be conservative. Also, the thing I dislike most is the price of a good fightstick. Any cheaper ones than the madcatz TE that won't break easily? Should I just mod a wwe brawlstick, or do you suppose the ps4'll overrun the ps3? Lastly, I'm pretty sure, but there aren't many major events for anime/airdashers that are on xbox, right? I know CEO uses ps3 for most, at least. -

First, thank you for not just saying something insulting. Second, in the time I did have in the FGC, I once had a close online match with Gamerbee, but that's about all I had time to accomplish... I suppose I'm a partially educated blank slate. That being said, in case this crowdfunding fails, I have already begun to rebudget my plans, and think smaller. This doesn't leave much room for a channel, but is better than nothing. I suppose that there's no need for any further commenting on my question. Thank you again for being respectful. -

The primary goal of the channel is to cover everything possible, but to also fine-tune my content to what people are interested in but having a poll every week for the next week's content. The primary reason of the Kickstarter is to enable me to fulfill my vision, since I can't afford anything more than a few basic things on steam, and even then don't have the computer to handle gaming. Yes, the twitter and dustloop accounts are new, but that's because I made them for this. I've read dustloop articles, but haven't had the need to ask a question for a few years for obvious reasons. I feel my life is balanced, but I suppose that is one man's opinion... Essentially, Kickstarting myself is the easiest way to do this, without making a permanently life-altering decision, since my present employment is both fulfilling, and preferred. However, I find it worth noting that I would like advice for a successful campaign, and to hear what people would like as content. When I played Fighters, I could learn almost any character in a day or two, so I think I can do essentially anything that would interest my prospective subscribers. I also have a mean maniacal laugh, which is both a good and a bad thing. -
Hello, Dustloop Users! To put things simply, I've launched a Kickstarter to create my own dream channel, and want to know what the FGC thinks! (I also apologize if this is improperly placed. I don't know where a topic like this fits) Essentially, I want to create a channel for everyone, with a weekly lineup like on a tv channel, not a static or random schedule, while also covering as many games as physically possible! I would love to hear your input, or maybe even garner some attention, so feel free to do either! The link is as follows: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/158562405/lets-create-an-awesome-channel-for-next-gen-fighti I don't want to bug you for money, I only want advice/notes. Thank you for your time, and though I will be checking in on this forum, I also can be contacted via the Kickstarter, or on twitter @MrScherzo Oh, and Thaddeus Scherzo is a Pseudonym, but I like the feel of it.
