Yea, i dont tack on CDT's for no reason. Unless I really want the item refill right then, or it will kill. But ill look thru combo thread, i just got intimidated every time i looked at it before, there's a LOT of info in there, so its hard to know where to start (mainly what i was asking, the threads awesome, i just suck at bulleting thru combos, so i need to take my time.... which generally means prioritizing my learning.) bat bat bat butt? i enjoy that. sounds like a fun time. -------- side note: trying to improve my game a bit, and its at the point that i need to up my average damage-per-hit/combo still doing the easy itemless midscreen stuff (either simple chain into 236b, or 5a 6a 6c j236c j.c 6a 236b) in the corner, itemless, im trying to get the hype stuff down but right now my damage is looking like... mid screen, no item, no meter: 1.6-2.3k mid screen, no item, 50 meter: same (dont have a damage increase for meter besides CDT) mid screen, item stuff, no meter: i got red hammer loops down, i know some basic pan shit, i know a very basic cat hammer ch combo, i know very basic missile combos, fuck bombs. fuck midscreen bat. mid screen, item stuff, 50 meter: no added damage for any item midscreen with meter. corner, no item, no meter: 3k, with the chance for reset/air throw corner, no item, 50 meter: 3.6k-4k, with chance for reset/air throw corner, item, no meter: i know how to use hammer, missile, bat, and pan. thats it. corner, item, 50 meter: no added damage with meter on any item if you had to pick one thing to work on, to get the best bang for my buck in terms of overall damage... what do you think?? -_-

I'll trust your opinion LK, if you say i dont get it, then i dont ^^. I enjoy the game, but its weird. I do not enjoy bashing scrubs. I do not enjoy getting double perfects by godlike players. I do enjoy somewhat playing people better than me, and having close matches but me losing 95% of the time. I do really enjoy having matches with people I go like.... 3-4 wins out of every 10 games when. Thats my perfect motivation level in gaming. Figured that out long ago. But i never find people at that level. Its all mostly godlike people who troll/destroy me, or scrubs that even I can body (thats bad if i can body you). Its not a bad game, and I can enjoy playing it, so I hope people get that lol. It's just not my preference, and I cannot stop wishing it was something more my style. But it is enjoyable enough. I honestly think the biggest issue is I dont have that character that just 'clicks' for me. In GG, its robo and sol. In AH, its fiona. In mb (ignoring my skill level lol) its kohaku and len. In marvel, its strider/doom/task. In SF games, its ryu/akuma/e.ryu/sakura. In SFxT its howarang. But BB? I constantly change. Platinum is the closest I got, but I get frustrated with her combo mechanics. Hard to explain. I think that's one of the easiest things to keep someone interested in a game. Character love. And I just dont have it that strong in BB. @Andy: That is actually a complaint of mine! I honestly like 3/5 rounds. BB doesnt give you 3 burst for 3/5 rounds. Should be 1 burst per round, period. Minor I know though.

To me, wake up roll adds to the wake up game, but takes away from the oki game. The fact that most everyone can punish a roll predicted is fine, but i know some (maybe most, maybe all) can be reayd to punish the roll, without sacrificing oki to do it. Thats bad. My personal options about how i dislike roll aside, thats why i dislike it on a mechanical level. I personally like throws being 1 frame, so you can punish shitty pressure strings. I personally also like option-selecting throw a lot in my air to air game in gg, but thats an opinion, and is honestly worse for the game that its possible. Even think with robo-ky, since he can delay his wakeup in gg, that makes oki vs him very very VERY different than everyone else. Wakeup speed works the same (notably 3s chun is what i think of in that regard) But like..... purple throws as a cheesy attempt at free damage? The speed of jabs/most pokes being generally slower than in GG? The guard bar vs guard primers? Barrier costing its own gauge, not meter? Negative penalty in GG vs how it works in BB? The moves they selected on some people to be -2 or better on block. I just have a lot of general system complaints. I should not be punished for blocking while i am still blocking (primers). I like having generally 2 fast poke options to keep close and have decent frame advantage (p and k, vs just a). I like backdashes being generally sweet wakeup options, rather than generally risky. I like un-throwable normals for oki/pressure. I dislike 'fatal counter'. I like GG style gold burst. I like throwable bursts (regardless of how much it ever helps me vs how much it hurts me) and that bursts generally dont fuck your ability to block. I dislike being stuck in a shitty situation because of system mechanics (i green burst, and lose a primer on wakeup vs jin/lambda/ragna/whoever. i am now fucked into destroying my barrier, or getting fucked for a combo, regardless of how good my defense is). I dislike dead angle costing a fucking primer (it already costs 50 meter in a game that 50 meter opens up worlds of damage for everyone). I really can continue, and i do have a few complaints about gg I would change. But thats just opinion. I have played enough of bb to make a reasonable opinion on it. To each their own. A nugget of info I learned from cs2 platinum kiunda sums up my opinion on bb. In cs2, platinums best blockstring was 5a x n. Thats it. It was +1 and fast, just do it until you feel like mixup. It was neigh impossible to punish if you executed perfectly. Thats dumb. Legit, but dumb. Thats bb to me. Legit as a game, but a lot of dumb shit make me go 'seriously?' (edit'd, apparently not correct) ^^ The bulk of the jersey thread has played a good amount of BB, so dont take it in that route. But theres a reason most if not all the jersey gg heads prefer gg over bb every day of the week... and its not because it was first. -------------------- Venom? Not i. Sorry buddy!

honestly, i feel the same as andy here i had to really try to get to like bb, and i can play it and enjoy it now (same with sfxt, alpha3, and a lot of other games) but you give me a choice, ill opt to play gear every time. theres a lot of deep system shit that i think is just right, the character design, damage scaling, the guard bar (DAT FLASHING GUARD BAR) how oki works, how footsies work, all of it. i think gear got it perfect (or as perfect as you can be) everything else, including bb, just feels off in some way. its just a preference thing for everyone. i know for me, i dont really have that character i love enough to really dig into the game (L11 and plat are close, but not really character love material). that and i hate tech roll on wakeup, i dislike the throw system, i dislike the choices of what have a ton of untechable time and what doesnt, and some other shit. not that i cant enjoy the game, but it has problems. but then again, i can get if gear has issues others cant get around. its all a preference thing. bb is just convenient because it has playable netcode. thats its biggest draw, and the only thing i think it has over gg (imo). and when gear gets the online remake (with playable netcode) i know i wont touch bb in my alone time ever again. its not a bad game, but gears better. thats it.
