  1. I think going character specific bans is the absolute wrong choice. There's just too much potential for drama and confusion because it will be up to individuals who probably don't have enough total knowledge (let's face it, there's 25 characters and 625 matchups) to decide whether or not a character with macros enabled is broken or not. "Baiken is too stupid with Macros." "No, it's fair, you still have to input the 421." "Justice double missile wall is too strong." "No, it only improves her already good matchups." "I can't hit Michael Sword/Tatami FRC on pad without a Macro!" "Too bad, play a character that has macros enabled." "Why is the Axl player allowed to infinitely negative edge his counters on block/wakeup with a macro when I, the Justice player, cannot?" This thread is more or less proof that we can't agree on the majority of really basic things, so the further you go into it, the worse it will get. Believe me, going character specific is not a compromise that will help at all.
  2. There really is no choice but to either allow macros or ban them completely. As 4r5 pointed out, it's impossible to enforce anything in between. Take the Justice glitch, is a judge or opposing player going to be able to tell the difference between a Heavy Slash and a Dust NB done twice in a row? It could definitely matter if you just blew the opponent away with a CH Michael Sword and you want two offscreen NBs to land on the same spot one after another. Would someone stop the game right there and be like "HEY DID YOU DO TWO OF THE SAME NB?" What about using the glitch to summon a second Punch NB slightly before you're able to normally as opposed to having two of the same ones on the screen? You'd normally have to let first punch NB blow up to summon a second one, but what if I summoned the second NB then let the first one explode, making the space between them slightly tighter? There's no way you'd be able to tell in an actual match unless you're the one doing it.
  3. Sign me up for GG and BB. I am doomed since I haven't touched either of these versions in half a year. Anyone for a P4 exhibition with the Japanese Players after Finals on Friday (Teams, Tug of War, Kumites, etc)? What about on Saturday? I want them to give everyone the opportunity to play with the Japanese as much as possible while they are here, but I don't' want to conflict with anyone's schedule.
  4. The tournaments will be run strictly on time for Friday. I have a lot of games to play so I want to get them out of the way so we can have dinner together with those who are interested.
  5. :mrbiscuits::mrbiscuits::mrbiscuits::mrbiscuits::mrbiscuits::mrbiscuits:
  6. This is my last outing in SoCal. I'll be running a silly event for all games, so come on out.
  7. We need ps3s this week. We won't have access to any at the venue this weekend, so please bring one! There is no such thing as too few!
  8. I'll ask the Dojo, let me get back to you. Edit: We're also planning to do PSA:BR this week at 3PM, if that's your thing.
  9. I'm going to be there from like 2pm-6pm. I recommend Gundam people get there as early as possible, so we can set that up before people get settled. The switch around eats up extra time and such. Also, anyone want to play Kirby's Dream Course?
  10. I think we can get TheBiter to bring his and we should be set. As for the seminars I'm teaching on Saturday, feel free to bring a pen and paper or even your own equipment (computer, stream station, laptop, tablet, whatever). I'm only teaching this once so pay attention!
  11. We've been given the okay to run GG/BB side tournaments after 6PM. I'm not certain we'll be able to fit them in on Friday (due to the P4A exhibition at 8PM), but Saturday for sure will work out.
  12. I've been told that after 6PM (both days), most pools will be over, so we can think about running side events during that time.
  13. I think we're going to end up short, since AcidAce and like half the BB/P4 scene are heading to Japan for that week. We should probably aim to start EXVS on 2/9 if we can't get enough setups for this week.
  14. No, today is the last TRB before SCR.
  15. Actually, tonight is the last night, so we could do one for old time's sake. The space issue might be a lot worse this time around though, due to the new setup...
