Played in on XBLA. Online finally works, and it's pretty good. Only sucky part is you can't use the EX characters in ranked (Robert, Kensou, Takuma) or Geese or Goenitz even though they're balanced. Some notes -Gallery Mode, Neogeo Mode, and Color Edit are not present. -No load times. -ENGLISH WIN TEXT! -No variable winquotes, though. All characters get only 1 winquote. Special win portraits are still in. -Much better translation on menu screens. -Backgrounds are not the 3D ones from the PS2 version. They're from the Japan-only Arcade version, and thus they are 2D. -Camera pan intro is not in the game because of the 2D backgrounds. -None of the new stages (like Kula's frozen version of the Clone Laboratory) are in. -Rugal's stage has been redesigned. It's a combination of his old 2002 stage and his new 2002 one. Personally I think it looks much better than that garbage cut-n-paste from console 2002. You fight in the cockpit of the Blacknoah with the techno-gates from Rugal's old stage on the sides. There's also an "R" emblazoned into the carpet. -Based on Tougeki Edition re-release (bugs fixed, no more lol Orochi Chris MUGEN cloning glitch). -All color schemes are the same as the original 2002. Newcomers, of course, get new color schemes, but they're ones we've already seen before. -NGBC netcode.

IMO all they need to do to fix Mugen is alter the time the opponent is frozen during the startup animation so that Haku can't be hit as soon as he gets out of it, but they still have enough time to tech if they're downed.

IMO Valk right now is beyond CS Bang levels of divinity. With Bang's CS2 nerfs, someone must step up to take the role of the gdlk RTSD character, and CS2 Loketest 3 Valk, while nerfed, can still qualify as a contender for the spot. Even if he ends up not being S-tier. In short, I like his nerfs.
