  1. Got back from the event. Was very fun. I held my own much better than I thought I would. Will probably go to the next one.
  2. That's good. What time do casuals usually start at?
  3. Well I'll be going for Guilty Gear. I just don't want to seem too out of place or stand out for the wrong reasons. I have never been to these fighting game meetups before so I'm not sure how they are. I just want to go to play some offline matches and meet people.
  4. I primarily play Skullgirls, but I occasionally dab in SIGN. So if I suck I shouldn't be going?
  5. So I'm considering going to GGA's tournament tomorrow, however I'm not too good at the game. Will I be out of place if I show up, as I will get bodied hard?
  6. ^^^Game looks amazing.
  7. He doesn't to me.
  8. Okay maybe I should try to re-explain myself. The artstyle of this game resembles a 70's cartoon or simple styled cartoon. Characters like Ryu translate well into this artstyle due to him not standing out too much (probably due to him being so simply designed) plus he could transfer to almost any cartoon setting due to him being a historical shoto. Someone like Dante however wouldn't because he isn't designed simple as well as really looks like a modern designed character, so I 'd find him to stand out a little more. I'm not saying that he shouldn't be in the game (because I personally want him to be and Capcom eventually will) just that he wouldn't really fit in with the artstyle to me. Agreed.
  9. Well first off to me the still look like they can match the style that the other characters in the game morph into (Alex to a lesser extent). Date isn't really consistent in what I am saying but more so look and style. Then again this is just my opinion.
  10. I know that but 3D or 2D its style is of a 70's cartoon.
  11. Cause to me Dante doesn't really translate well when putting him into "70's cartoon" nor does he give that vibe. Then again Morrigan gives me a similar feel and she is in it so...
  12. I'm really starting to think that Dante just wouldn't fit into this.
  13. Zero. Tatsunoko did the animation for that but don't own the license or anything. Anyway I just watched the trailer and this game looks amazing. To me it looks more fun then any other fighter coming out (including Blazblue) from that trailer and gameplay video.
  14. Does anyone else like the technical look of the game? I mean I really do like how it looks as graphical heavy as a mid-PS2 game (not being sarcastic but dead serious).
  15. So is this game better then the previous King of Fighters '98?
  16. Oh yeah I completely forgot the licensing. Good thing that the PS3 is region free. :D
  17. I mean even with the crazy idea of bringing a American focused franchise and then have it focus on the Japanese market you'd at least think that they'd try and get a bigger company or what not. I mean I'm not Japanese native or what not but are these characters still very iconic in Japan?
  18. You're welcome. And yeah I fixed the link. Anyway I find it VERY odd that Capcom is having the successor to the Marvel franchise (it's obvious that it is) being targeted towards the Japanese audience. I mean I can see why the would test their 2.5D in the Japanese market to see how it would fair, but why the successor to Marvel? I mean it's no secret that the Marvel games always suited better in North America. I'm just confused with why they didn't go with DC or some other American icon type company.
  19. Anybody?
  20. Should I just get this stick and mod it with a better joystick and buttons?
  21. Move over Third Strike, a new game is going to take the reigns of the community's main 2D fighter.
  22. I see what you mean. Looking at this and SFIV it seems that Capcom is trying to revive their 2D fighting legacy by simply dying the models and background to 3D. Though IMO that isn't the problem with why this type of genre isn't appealing to the average consumer.
  23. See now this is how SFIV should've looked if it was 3D. Still would've liked 2D graphics better but this will definitely do.
  24. It is 2.5D. It's been confirmed by people who own the magazine and if you look at the high resolution magazine scan posted early the models don't just look very 3D but you see some angeled shots (I.E. Chun-Li). Though I personally don't care that much. It's just graphical style and their are more 2D sprite based fighting games coming out now then fighting games that use 3D models (Though I do find it eriee that they are using 3D models for an ANIME fighting game:psyduck: ). Also from the looks of it it play just like a traditional 2D fighting game. Is this Capcom's answer to a "Marvel vs Capcom 3"?
