ma-ryan and satsuki are generally the best across the board, with everything else having very specific purposes or only working proper with some character setups.

don't bother with it. the only effect it has is to restore your assist gauge to full... at the cost of 3 bars.

Manaka is really awkward to play and move around with, but she has no space control or damage is way off. It's only really easy to go into emotion low with her if you decide you want to sit back and chuck books all day. Check around Kouhatsu's youtube, there's some solid footage to watch that can give you ideas. It's also worth noting that certain normals will and will not crush guard. Haven't really messed around with that much, but maybe the guard value changes after 50% health when guts kicks in?
