Family Fun Arcade (FFA) is about an hour away from Lancaster. We have a Guilty Gear AC arcade cab, a Melty Blood AACC cab, and a ton of other fighters. We meet every Friday night around 8PM for casuals. I bring in my PS3 for BlazBlue, and sometimes we'll have a laptop for doujin fighters. Also, I run a bi-weekly airdasher tournament with Guilty Gear and BlazBlue every other Sunday. The next one will be on April 15th.

Had some fun great matches with everyone. Thanks to DQRF for bringing Eternal Fighter Zero, Akatsuki Blitzkampf and Immaterial and Missing Power. The next tournament will be on April 15th. Hope to see you guys there!

West Toast was founded by a bunch of enthusiastic Melty Blood players just trying to grow their scene. The premise has always been to meet other players and to have fun. After two years without a West Toast, they've been revived in 2011! Now the event incorporates even more games, but the premise remains the same: meet other like-minded players and have fun! West Toast is a "Mini-Major" tournament which focuses on airdashers and other similar games. The tournament will be split into two days: Melty Blood etc. and Guilty Gear etc. Melty Blood Day will incorporate many of the doujin fighters, while Guilty Gear Day will incorporate more of the well-known fighters. Players will also be holding many side tournaments for all sorts of obscure games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters! So, come prove yourself among your peers as the best of the west coast at West Toast! The Location: Super Arcade 1211 N Grand Ave Walnut, CA 91789 (909) 594-5954 The Date: Saturday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 24th The Schedule: Saturday (Melty Blood etc.): TBA TBA TBA Sunday (Guilty Gear etc.): TBA TBA TBA The Games: Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code v1.07: Time: TBA Price: $5 to enter (+25c per play) Pot split will be 70/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd place (subject to change depending on number of entrants). Rules: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character (but may change moon styles, selecting before the opponent chooses their moon style), losers may counter pick. All characters are tournament legal. Game will be held on arcade. I will be working on setting up a PS2 input on the game, but there is no guarantee I can get it to work. Multiple stations may be held on PC. In-game glitches are allowed as long as they do not "break" the game (i.e. characters float off the screen, disappear, the game crashes, etc.). If a button or stick problem occurs, stop playing and notify the tournament organizer immediately (even before your round is over). We will restart the round after dealing with the problem. Abuses of this system will cause a forfeit of the match. BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend: Time: TBA Price: $8 to enter ($3 house fee, $5 pot) Pot split will be 70/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd place (subject to change depending on number of entrants). Rules: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character, losers may counter pick. To be held on PS3 (May be JP disc). All characters (including Relius) are legal. Unlimited Characters will not be allowed. In-game glitches are allowed as long as they do not "break" the game (i.e. characters float off the screen, disappear, the game crashes, etc.). If a button or stick problem occurs, stop playing and notify the tournament organizer immediately (even before your round is over). We will restart the round with a new stick. Abuses of this system will cause a forfeit of the match. If the player accidently pauses in the middle of the game, they will forfeit that round (we might look the other way if it was in the middle of a super animation). Rules, prices, times, and everything else is subject to change.

Aye, April 1st, this Sunday, is our next tournament. Everything starts at 5. Sorry I haven't been posting much, I have just been swamped with school and life. If I don't post regularly, the next tournament will always be in 2 weeks, unless I state otherwise. Also, I've still been hosting Friday night casuals, and we've been getting some great action in GG, MB, BB, and sometimes PC fighters. If you're itching to play or learn, Fiday night is the time to show! Our tournaments have been very slow lately, due to them falling on the same day as big events. They should start picking up with this tournament. Because of that, we are very low on our Arcade pool money. Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena is NESiCA x LIVE exclusive, so we can't get the game in the US. Under Night In-Birth, however, is not on the Taito X2 board, it is on the Ring-Edge board, and so it won't be Japan exclusive (so we can get that for sure). The Ring-Edge board is Sega's equivalent to the Taito X series. With the Ring-Edge board, you can actually update the game through a USB port that will install on boot-up. You can even download the updates online (like we've been doing for MB)! If for some reason it takes us a really long time to raise enough money, and UNIB is out on console already, we'll re-evaluate how to spend the money. Until then, it looks like UNIB is what we're heading towards. Also This: West Toast XVI

I'll be having my usual Friday night airdasher casuals tonight at FFA. Hope to see you guys there!

Hey guys, just an update on what's going on: 1st: I have been incredibusy with school and work. I'm also hosting SF4+MvC3 and KoFXIII+MK9 tournaments, but will be passing the torch to some other people soon. Since I've been so busy, I've been neglecting updating this thread, but I do have all of the previous results and info. I will be posting all of it as soon as I have more time. 2nd: I have been collecting the money for the arcade pool so far, and I'll be posting all of the details when I get more time, too. 3rd: The airdasher tournaments ARE STILL GOING ON, every other Sunday. I will at least try and update the first post to reflect when the next tournament will be. FYI, the next tournament will be on March 4th. 4th: I will be changing the time for Guilty Gear tournaments from 2PM to 5PM. There had been some confusion about the times before. I will just be making it 5PM from now on. 5th: Also, some of you may have noticed I changed the price of BlazBlue. We decided on a policy to make the house cost $3 per person for all tournaments. This was decided a little bit before West Toast, and I just implemented it last tournament. What I'm going to do, though is take $1 from the house fee and put it into the arcade pool. So, BB pricing is as follows: $8 entry ($4 pot, $2 house, $2 pool). I'll see you guys this weekend!

Sorry I haven't updated till now, been super busy with school and work. There will be a tournament this Sunday. See you guys then!
-
Great games, everyone. Congrats to Xie, and his team, Bond for winning the singles tournament, and DQRF for Guilty Gear. More detailed info coming up soon.
-
Sure, bring Catherine, we can prolly set it up.

So, I had a problem recording from the Guilty Gear cab in West Toast. The arcade board and the monitors are displaying at 60hz instead of the typical 48hz. I just got a program that should be able to record at 60hz, so we can start recording GG! Now I just need to get a permanent recording setup like I did for MB ^_^.
-
Will do. We've got a lot more room now with our current layout of the arcade.
-
Just wanted to let everyone know that we're changing up a few things for the upcoming FFA Tournaments. Firstly, we'll be having a 3v3 tournament, and it will be a Blue Revolution Preliminary tournament. Winners of the tournament will be seeded in the upcoming Finals. Second, I will be starting the fundraiser to get a new arcade board. I will be taking $1 from each person's pot entrance fee (in BB, GG, and MB) and putting it into a pool to save up for Persona 4 Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. Hope to see you guys there!
-
Some changes were added to the BlazBlue 3v3 tournament rules.
-
I posted up the new tournament. We will be having a 3v3 teams BB tournament in order to prep you guys up for the coming Blue Revolution tournament. We will also be holding a fundraiser to buy a new arcade board that we would never in our right minds get. I will be taking $1 from the pots of each tournament (except VS) and putting it into a pool to purchase a new game. The new game we will be saving up for will be Persona 4 Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. If for some reason, it is not possible to purchase P4U (most likely reason would be NESiCA x Live exclusivity), then Under Night In-Birth will be the runner up. I'll be rebooting the best of character list, too.

Great to see you back in action. I'm going to update this post with info about the next tournament once I get back from school.

I just got the GG board running. It would be nice if you could bring the PS2, though, just in case something happens.
-
I just got GGAC working for arcade!! The tournament will be on arcade as originally planned. It would still be great if we can have a PS2 or two, just in case something happens, though. I'll be late to the casuals tonight, but I'll be leaving my PS3+BB behind with Dae so that you guys can play it while I'm gone.
-
I always take late entries when I run tournaments, so even if you're late you can still make it in (but your spot in the bracket won't be randomized). We also have casuals every Friday night for GG, BB, and MB. (Our GG cab is dead atm; we're trying to revive it). I'll be running a recording equipment check tonight, just to make sure everything is working. So, I'll probably post up casuals for BB and MB (maybe even AH).
-
We're going to make one more last ditch effort at getting the GG cab working. So, let's all assume that we will not be having it on arcade. If anyone can bring in a PS2 or two and their PS2 joysticks, that would be really great. I know that DQRF brought his in last time and that worked out alright. I'm sure he'd be alright bringing it in again, but more PS2 sticks would be prefered. Also, Ralph and I should be moving a lot of things to make space for PCs and extra stations. Day 1 won't have too much PC stuff, but Day 2 will. The big screen in the back will be reserved for Skull Girls, and we'll have monitors set up for the other games. Day 1: Vampire Savior, Hokuto no Ken, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure will be in arcade cabinets. TMNT: Tournament Fighters will be on SNES (hopefully we'll have sticks for you guys). The side games are all $3 or $1 entry, and will be run whenever we get time to do it (there's no real set schedule for them). Day 2: Immaterial and Missing Power, and Big Bang Beat Revolve will be run on PC, and Fate/Unlimited Codes will be run on PS2. All of these games will be brought in from players (I've got a couple people from the homingcancel boards to bring these in, but extra PCs for insurance wouldn't hurt). Like Day 1, these tournaments aren't set on any certain schedule and will be run when we get to them. As for team tournaments, we'll be more lax about time, but AH will start with GG (1PM) and MB will start with BB (5PM). The reason why those times are switched, is so that we aren't using the PS3s at the same time. I'll see you guys there. I'll try and post up some more, but I've got a huge day ahead of me with a lot of prep-work. If you know somebody with my phone no., they have permission to give it out. So, you can all call or text me if you have questions. (Preferably text, so I can answer it when I get time to)
