  1. We'll probably only need one copy of the game, I don't expect the turnout for IaMP to be massive enough to need two computers for it. But it couldn't hurt to bring more computers.
  2. Mike Z says he'll be bringing his build for Skull Girls! woot!
  3. Synthesis from the HomingCancel boards, says he'll be bringing Hisoutensoku as well. (aka Unthinkable Natural Law? idk, I'm not caught up w/ the new Tohou fighters)

  5. West Toast XV: Makoto Appreciation Day West Toast was founded by a bunch of enthusiastic Melty Blood players just trying to grow their scene. The premise has been to meet other players and to have fun. After two years without a West Toast, they've been revived in 2011! Now the event incorporates even more games, but the premise remains the same: meet other like-minded players and have fun! This tournament will include some of your favorite airdashers from old to new. Some of which won't even be featured in another major tournament! If you've been secretly training for the day that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Immaterial and Missing Power, or some other relatively obscure game is held in a big tournament, Jan 21st is your day! So come prove yourself among your peers as the best of the west coast! The Location: Family Fun Arcade 10363 Balboa Blvd. Granada Hills, CA 91344 (818) 360-0419 The Date: Saturday, January 21st (Squirrel Appreciation Day) and Sunday, January 22nd The Schedule: Saturday: Main: Guilty Gear @ 1PM BlazBlue @ 5PM Side*: Melty Blood Teams (3v3) Arcana Heart Teams (2v2) Vampire Savior Hokuto no Ken JoJo's Bizarre Adventure TMNT: Tournament Fighters *times are undecided Sunday: Main: Melty Blood @ 1PM Arcana Heart @ 5PM Side*: Guilty Gear Teams (3v3) BlazBlue Teams (2v2) Immaterial and Missing Power Fate/Unlimited Codes Big Bang Beat Revolve *times are undecided The Games: Guilty Gear XX Λ Core: Time: Saturday, Jan 21st, 1PM Price: $5 to enter (+25c per play) Pot split will be 70/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd place (subject to change depending on number of entrants). Rules: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character, losers may counter pick. All characters are tournament legal. Game will be held in Arcade. The arcade cabinet has PS2 ports, so you can plug in your PS2 controller (button layout: Square=Punch, Triangle=Slash, Circle=H. Slash, X=Kick). In-game glitches are allowed as long as they do not "break" the game (i.e. characters float off the screen, disappear, the game crashes, etc.). If a button or stick problem occurs, stop playing and notify the tournament organizer immediately (even before your round is over). We will restart the round after dealing with the problem. Abuses of this system will cause a forfeit of the match. BlazBlue Continuum Shift II Extend: Time: Saturday, Jan 21st, 5PM Price: $7 to enter ($2 house fee, $5 pot) Pot split will be 70/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd place (subject to change depending on number of entrants). Rules: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character, losers may counter pick. To be held on PS3 (JP disc). If the arcade has the game as an arcade board and the PS3 version is not out/not available, we will hold the tournament on the arcade. If the PS3 version is available we will run the tournament on PS3 (unless the PS3 has some bugs or unforeseeable arcade imperfect qualities). All characters (including Relius) are legal. Unlimited Characters will not be allowed. In-game glitches are allowed as long as they do not "break" the game (i.e. characters float off the screen, disappear, the game crashes, etc.). If a button or stick problem occurs, stop playing and notify the tournament organizer immediately (even before your round is over). We will restart the round with a new stick. Abuses of this system will cause a forfeit of the match. If the player accidently pauses in the middle of the game, they will forfeit that round (we can look the other way if it was in the middle of a super animation). Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code v1.07: Time: Sunday, Jan 22nd, 1PM Price: $5 to enter (+25c per play) Pot split will be 70/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd place (subject to change depending on number of entrants). Rules: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character (but may change moon styles, selecting before the opponent chooses their moon style), losers may counter pick. All characters are tournament legal. Game will be held on arcade. I will be working on setting up a PS2 port, but there is no guarantee I can get it to work. If PC version is available, we may hold it on PC (undecided). Arcana Heart 3: Time: Sunday, Jan 22nd, 5PM Price: $5 to enter ($2 house fee, $3 pot) Pot split will be 70/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd place (subject to change depending on number of entrants). Rules: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character (but may change arcana, selecting before the opponent chooses their arcana), losers may counter pick. To be held on PS3 (may be JP disc). All characters are legal. General Team Tournament Rules: Double Elimination Bracket. 1 Set between teams. Grand Finals 2/3 Sets. Players must use the same character (and option select [Moon Style/Arcana/etc.]) throughout the entire tournament. A team may not have two of the same character (i.e. no Makoto/Makoto). You may enter a team with fewer than the listed players, but empty slots will be an auto-forfeit (i.e. if you enter a 2v2 alone you have to beat both players without losing. If you lose against either player in that scenario, your team loses.) If a team member leaves in the middle of the tournament, you cannot replace him/her and that slot will be an auto-forfeit slot. Other rules listed in the game's individual rules list still apply. 2v2s: Waseda Format: Match 1: Team 1 Player A vs. Team 2 Player A (i.e. Player 2A wins) Match 2: Team 1 Player B vs. Team 2 Player B (i.e. Player 1B wins) Match 3: Team 1 Player B vs. Team 2 Player A (Winners face-off) 3v3s: Pokemon Format: Match 1: Team 1 Player A vs. Team 2 Player A (i.e. 1A wins) Match 2: Team 1 Player A vs. Team 2 Player B (i.e. 1A wins) Match 3: Team 1 Player A vs. Team 2 Player C (i.e. 2C wins) Match 4: Team 1 Player B vs. Team 2 Player C (i.e. 1B wins, Team 1 wins) In both formats, teams are allowed to switch their order however they like. Double-blind player selection is available for the first match only, and the teams may pick their next players accordingly. In 2/3 Sets, the winning team must use the same first player they did when they won the first set. Consecutive players may be chosen differently. Immaterial and Missing Power: Time: Sunday, Jan 22nd, ?PM Price: $3 to enter ($1 house fee, $2 pot) Pot split will be 75/25 for 1st/2nd place (subject to change depending on number of entrants). Rules: 2/3 matches; Modified Round Robin Bracket (Normal Round Robin with a Grand Finals at the end between the top two players, 2nd place player must win two sets like Double Elim Grand Finals). If there is a lot of people, we may switch to Double Eliminaion. Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character (but may change cards, selecting before the opponent chooses their cards), losers may counter pick. Version 1.11 Damage Level 3 No Auto-Guard Juggle Meter Enabled Banned Stages: Sakuya-Day, Youmu-Day, and Suika (due to camoflauge) All characters are legal. The Youmu 2P 1F suki throw loop is banned. Use of this technique will result in a forfeit of the round. If a button or stick problem occurs, stop playing and notify the tournament organizer immediately (even before your round is over). We will restart the round with a new stick. Abuses of this system will cause a forfeit of the match. If the player accidently pauses in the middle of the game, they will forfeit that round. *Nearly everything is subject to change, from rules to times to prices to side games. I will update anytime anything is changed.
  6. Friday night was epic! Great games everybody. Good to see a bunch of the old crew back! (Seungpyo, OMG!!)
  7. Sorry I didn't reply to that part: It will definitely be held at FFA. I know that's a bit of a ways for you, TrigIDs. The tournament won't be big enough to be held at a hotel or anything like that. We've had tournaments as big as 87 people at the arcade before, but I don't think WTXV will be that big (maybe 30 people?).
  8. I'll be at FFA tonight for some casuals. See you guys there.
  9. Jason, the old owner, had the board for it. I think he had it installed for a short time but it didn't do well and he couldn't find a buyer for it. If we can find it we'll add it. The prices won't be big, probably $5 for Guilty/Melty/Arcana and $7 for BlazBlue. The side tournament prices will be tentative and probably won't be announced until the time of signing, but expect $1-3.
  10. Burnt Toast was a shoot-off of West Toast (sort of). West Toast was founded by Arlieth from MeltyBread.com, the Melty Blood equivalent of DustLoop. It's essentially an airdasher major; Melty Blood used to be the focal point, but now it's Melty Blood, Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and Arcana Heart. We'll also be hosting side tournaments for a lot of other games (Hokuto no Ken, Vampire Savior, Immaterial and Missing Power, etc.). West Toast kind of died off 2 years ago, and I held the first revival of them the weekend before EVO2k11. I don't have the thread for the full tournament just yet, but I started a pre-tournament discussion. The last West Toast we held had people from Arizona and Norcal come, so it was pretty cool. I'm hoping to have the next one even bigger.
  11. I'm starting back up my FFA airdasher casuals if any of you are in the area. We're getting together from about 8:30-11:30 on Thursday and Friday nights at Family Fun Arcade (10363 Balboa Blvd, Granada Hills CA 91344). Games include the main airdashers. We've got: Guilty Gear XX Λ Core for Arcade (with a PS2 port) Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code v1.05 for Arcade (updating to 1.07 very soon) I also bring in my PS3 for BlazBlue and Arcana Heart. I've installed a VGA and audio (R&W) output from the Melty Blood cab so we can record and stream (working on Guilty Gear next). I've also been running bi-weekly airdasher tournaments at the arcade (next one on Nov 27), and we'll be having an airdasher major (West Toast XV) on Jan 21st & 22nd. So yeah, see you guys there.
  12. The owner of Super Arcade might have left us a Fate/Unlimited Codes board hidden beneath a lot of junk in there, we've found some clues, but haven't found the board yet. We can always run it on PS2, though.
  13. Most likely the JP console ver. If we happen to have the arcade version by then, then we'll probably run it on the arcade.
  14. Looks like the best date will be Jan 21-22. Any objections? Current game listing: Main: BlazBlue Continuum Shift II Extend -Raptor Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code v1.07 Arcana Heart 3 Side: Vampire Savior: The Lord of the Vampire -Rotanibor? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters -SLEDGE Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) -Need Volunteer JoJo's Bizarre Adventure -Need Volunteer Fate/Unlimited Codes -Need Volunteer Immaterial and Missing Power -Need Volunteer Big Bang Beat 2 -Need Volunteer +maybe something else
  15. So as far as grouping goes, I was wanting two main events on Sat and two main events on Sun. But which games should they be? I was thinking: Day 1: Guilty Gear BlazBlue Day 2: Melty Blood Arcana Heart However, it might be better to have Guilty Gear and BlazBlue separated so that people don't just show up for one day. Or to not have Melty Blood on the last day in case people have to leave to go back to their home state. I'd appreciate some input from you guys!
  16. Cool! So far, the date looks good for late Jan/early Feb. I want to wait a little while after BBCS2+ comes out. Any conflict with that from anybody? Also, it's most likely that we will have side tournaments for: Vampire Savior Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters If you'd like to help run any of these (main, side, or unmentioned), let me know. I'd appreciate the help!
  17. Another tournament (possibly) this Sunday. See you guys there. P.S. West Toast XV - Pre-tournament Discussion Board
  18. So... I want to hold another West Toast. Work and school were kicking my ass, making me really not wanting to go through all that work again. However, I think now's a good time to start getting things ready for WTXV! This thread is here to help discuss good dates, schedules, getting people to help run it, etc. I'm going to point out a few things and I want you all to chime in on what you think. Timing: When do we hold the tournament? College schedule is a big deal; most of you (as well as myself) attend college, so I want to make sure to at least avoid Finals/Mid-terms. I also want it to coincide with releases for games. Actress Again comes out for PC in December, as well as the JP version of BBCS2+, so it'll have to be sufficient time after Dec. I would like the tournament to take place on a Saturday and a Sunday if possible. Games: The main four I would like to include are: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Extend Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Melty Blood Actress Again: Current Code Arcana Heart 3 -We'd run two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday if that will work. I'd also like to have a bunch of side games, which I'd need people to help me run. FFA has the arcade boards for a lot of fighting games that you wouldn't expect (Hokuto no Ken, Vampire Savior, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, etc.), so if any of you would love to host something, point it out. Last time there was also a problem of recording games, a lot of it was my fault, the drivers went out on the laptop I was bringing and I wasn't able to use my recording software The rules are pretty fine as they are, but I might as well post them up in here for discussion. I'll update and reply accordingly! (10/29): Pending Rules: BlazBlue Continuum Shift II Extend: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Guilty Gear XX Λ Core: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character, losers may counter pick. All characters are tournament legal. Game will be held in Arcade. The arcade cabinet has PS2 ports, so you can plug in your PS2 controller (button layout: Square=Punch, Triangle=Slash, Circle=H. If a button or stick problem occurs, stop playing and notify the tournament organizer immediately (even before your round is over). We will restart the round after dealing with the problem. Abuses of this system will cause a forfeit of the match. Melty Blood Actress Again: Current Code v1.07: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Arcana Heart 3: Double Elimination Bracket, 2/3 Matches, 2/3 Rounds Double-blind character selection available on request. Winners must keep same character (but may change arcana), losers may counter pick. To be held on PS3 (JP disc). All characters are legal. 19. No, they don't, however we've got recording equipment available ready for those CRTs. Here's the whole line-up for West Toast 14: 2PM: Arcana Heart 3 Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Hokuto no Ken 5PM: BlazBlue Continuum Shift II Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code v1.05 Vampire Savior Marvel vs. Capcom 3 I will be direct feed recording GG and MB. Strider_Zer0 will be direct feed recording MvC3 (and probably camcorder recording VS, maybe HnK). I have equipment, but need someone with a laptop to record AH3 and BB. (Strider_Zer0 might be able to get AH3, too) Also, Sledge will probably be bringing in TMNT: Tournament Fighters on his SNES. If you have an SNES joystick, please bring it to the tournament and share! Sledge said he couldn't find his joysticks. HnK, VS, and TMNT will each be $1 to enter, MvC3 will be $7.
  20. If you can't make it to this one, don't fret! I'll start having more events like this in the future.
  21. No, we had a tournament the week before. The next Guilty Gear/BlazBlue tournament will be part of a large event that will include Arcana Heart, Melty Blood, and probably Hokuto no Ken, and Vampire Savior! See: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12029-West-Toast-XIV-The-REVIVAL!-July-24th-FFA-%28MBCC1.05-AH3-GG-BB-and-more!%29 I'll post more on a lot pretty soon, I've been really busy lately (spending a lot of effort on SF4/MK/MvC3/KoFXIII/other tournaments).
  22. There are plans to also hold tournaments for Hokuto no Ken and Vampire Savior! This has been posted on Meltybread.com and Homingcancel.com as well. I'll update and post more when I get some time. Hope to see you there!
  23. Finally, the alliance of anime airdasher action arrives again! West Toast is a well known series of tournaments that primarily focuses on Melty Blood.
