I definitely will. I thought maybe I could plan ahead of some things I could do (especially from the way the description sounded), you know? But yeah, you're right. I'll just have to wait til I actually play it.
-
Hmm...well, there goes that plan. Oh well, I'm sure I can still figure out how to use her. Probably won't be able to do as a good with her as some other characters, but I may be able to at least figure out how to use her somewhat decently.
-
Yeah, I hear what you're saying, as well as the person above you. I'm probably going to use it as I would Johnny's slightly, in so far as going into the stance, waiting for the person to come, then strike (not all the time, of course, as that'll make me predictable, but from time to time). Anything else I can do, I'll figure it out. On that note, lets just kill discussion on my question about that. Anyway, a new, and hopefully more legitimate question here about straight through.... Is there any kind of time limit on how long her pose for it lasts or will it stay there indefinitely until you hit an attack button?
-
Well, yeah. From what I've seen of her, you can't treat her like Johnny at all. It's just that one move that's similar. It was an idle question I was curious about, if anyone forgets to press a second button for the actual straight through attack to come out. I wasn't trying to claim she plays like Johnny or anything. Sorry if my post wasn't clear enough there.

For anyone here that has used Litchi so far, and has played Johnny in Guilty Gear, how is it using Litchi's Straight Through? Is it kind of hard to remember to press another button for the attack when you're used to Johnny's way? Or is it easier over all?

Yeah, that's why I always try to combo into it up close rather than doing it from mid screen. Hmmm...well, I do seem to be able to move quicker after my roommate blocks. However, I'm not too sure how much of that is me just thinking to move quicker (unlike him, maybe) and how much of that is actually an advantage. As for the finisher, well...if I manage to connect with the 6HS, I get a pretty damaging combo off of the forcebreak follow up finisher, so...

Jiyuna, will it knock the opponent down if you manage to connect (without them blocking) with it? Or would it just push them back? Assuming you have gotten lucky and seen it connect...

Out of curiosity, what all would dead spike be used for? I've watched a lot of videos, but I barely ever see it done. If it is ever done, it's always blocked, so I haven't been able to figure out what it could be used for.

Hi-C, next time me and him play each other, I'll let you know. I'll either edit this post or make a new one, depending on whether or not someone else has posted after me. As far as starting a match, it's kind of...random. Neither of us have any set ways, that I've noticed, on how we start. I'll keep an eye out though. About the charged stun edge though, I barely ever go for that. When I do, it's typically for my 6hs > 5hs > cse > force break > follow up force break combo (6hs is optional, but I get a bit more damage with it, and easier for me to time the rest of my combo with), so that plan won't really work against that a whole lot (I'd imagine). About instant air dashing, that's something that's a bit beyond the two of us at the moment.

Hey all, I'm looking to try and help my roommate get better at the game. He's chosen Anji as his main and has a lot of issues with my Ky. I play a pretty mean pressure Ky, rushing in with punch starting combos to stun dipper, stun edge, or greed sever. When I get him on the ground, I'll sometimes either do 6HS as he gets up, followed by a 5HS. From there, I'll again go with stun dipper, stun edge, or greed sever, sometimes going into Ky's force break from a charged stun edge, then to the force break follow up. Now, his biggest problems come when I get him in a corner. From there, I'm able to completely lock him down, with him not being able to do anything. Now, we're both more intermediate players, not advanced or noobs. Outside of roman canceling and other more advanced features like that (instant air dash, etc), we got a pretty good handle on the gameplay (we have cancels down, bursts, dead angles, etc). Now the question here...does Anji have other options to get out of a corner, outside of burst and dead angle? Please, go off of how I said I play Ky. If you need more details as to how I play Ky, let me know and I'll give some more details. Thanks in advance.

^Ok, I thought the first post meant a literal mist finer, as in how Johnny does it. When I read "mist finer," I thought it was talking about having high, mid, and low variations, just like Johnny....or in the case of two buttons, and what I saw in the video, a high/mid or high/low variation. Thanks for clearing that up.

I have a question about Fubuki. It's described as a mist finer, but I only see it with two button variations. What I'm wondering is, what levels do a and b correspond to? From the videos I've seen, I saw Jin slash at an upward angle. I'm guessing that is a. If that's a though, then what is the b version? Is it horizontal mid or a low angle slash?

I suppose this is a dumb question, but I'm out of the loop on this one. Where did the nickname "buri-chan" come from with Bridget? And what, if anything, is it supposed to mean? I know chan is like a...suffix for affection...something like that...but I don't know about the buri part.

I see...seeing the way some people talk made me think otherwise. Like Venom and Testament, I remember reading somewhere, were said to be best played as zoners more than anything else. Reading things like that, I had thought every character had a specific play style they excel at, like that. Also, I do want to clear something up. I'm not new to the series at all....but I'm still a beginner in terms of skill. I read back through my first post and it looked like I implied that I was brand new to the series as a whole. I've tried everyone at least once, but Sol and Ky, specifically Ky, have been my best characters. Alot of things are just way over my head though...apparently cause I keep trying to play it like Street Fighter/King of Fighters (apparently it's not meant to be played like that at all...or so I read). I don't know, I just thought if I learned what the other characters excel more in, then maybe I could adapt to that and do a bit better with them. Thanks anyway though.

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could post a brief list of the types of characters (rush down, lock down, zoner, etc) and which characters fit into those types. I ask cause right now, I tend to play rush down in general, but I'd like to give other types a shot. Only problem though, I don't know entirely what everyone else falls under. I've tried looking around online, searched on here, and couldn't find anything. I did find a site that had several different types, some that I'd never have thought of, but nothing saying what characters fall into them. I've seen it mentioned in some of the character threads, but (unless I missed something when reading through them) not in all. I'm still a beginner in this game, so I'm not sure what all really goes into defining a character and what not (I'll be checking the guides and all on here for that). I'm not looking for pages on pages of why a character counts as, say, rushdown. More just something like this: <character type> : <characters> Or <character> : <categories> Oh yeah, and I am aware that most characters fall into several categories. I'm looking for what they mainly excel in, though I'm up for hearing other, fitting play styles too. I don't know, I'd just like to know ahead of time what type of character I'm playing. Right now, I've been using Sol and Ky and have been playing them in a rush down style...despite reading things saying Ky isn't meant for that kind of play style. Thanks in advance and apologies if this has been covered before (despite my unsuccessful searches).
