  1. Thanks, that does make more sense for the Footloose part. So the 5D(6) is just a normal wall chase neutral stick Dust into hold foward on the stick though, right?
  2. Pardon my ignorance, but I would understand (6) to mean hold 6 after the Dust. So the (2) is hold 2 (down) after a j.D into footloose? I had no idea that would affect trajectory before the RC... so that is what this means, yes?
  3. I just want to say, some of your recent videos, this one included, have absolutely turned around my game. I had been lazy about learning proper combos since I picked up GG last December, but your videos inspired me. I have sore hands from training mode from the last few days, and it has paid off! I was able to take a few matches off of a really tough friend recently. Thank you, really! And I can't help it, now I think "Slayercoaster" when I see some of those combos. Good stuff. ^_^
  4. Is it me, or does Faust's 2k actually anti-air most of my random crossup attempts? Usually a j.S crossup if I remember. It's like the 2k hits behind him, over him, and in front... very possibly at different times as it has that weird slow animation. When I play around with Faust I find myself using that 2k a fair bit, but had never tried vs. a crossup.
  5. Very nice, thank you. I have been playing Slayer since a week or so after Xrd came out and just love the play style. Now I'm trying to get a little bit more serious about playing, so this is helping me tremendously right now.
  6. Why was Hase ending his combo: 5s x 4 hits, 5k, into IAD over Chipp? It seems like ending in a K Mappa punch is fine for my very average play level, so what is the secret here? Just trying to keep Chipp out of the air/offensive stance?
  7. This patch is coming at the perfect time for me, thank you gaming gods wherever you are. Wall bounce death to the opponent, incoming.
  8. Random thoughts... What happens if you play like Guile in street fighter here. Dash or airdash to her... But Use perfect defense dash-brake when swords are out. Remember they have a delay so learn her sword attack timings. Throw projectiles at her and don't worry about chasing too much. If she air dashes over you... Wait and use the autocorrect flashkick type move. No experience here, just thoughts.
  9. Thanks, I haven't been through the story in depth yet, sort of whizzed through it, so I didn't understand that Eddie himself was changed. But I still wish he was more monstrous. From what I've seen, I do like Zato's personality on screen for Xrd. And you are right about Pot filling the robot part... it occurred to me when I was watching a video of Leo and his robot guy. I hadn't considered Ram for some reason, but you are right there as well... the mouth/tooth cape thing has me mystified now. In the end, I miss the creepy stuff, but the game as a whole is definitely great looking. Who knows, maybe when they bring back some other characters I'll get my complete fix.
  10. But but but... he doesn't look the same! Zato's form will always be Zato, but Eddie is supposed to be a real monster. I'd like much closer to 50 % of his personification on screen to be creepy. I mean the game still says "Heaven or Hell", but it's closer to "Heaven or Ice cream-sugary-sweet-Hell" nowadays. Where are the cool badass badguys?
  11. Begging your pardon if this is the wrong place to vent my frustrations, but the more I watch videos of older versions of the game, the more I am missing the creepy factor in Guilty Gear, especially of old Eddie/Zato-1. Everything is too shiny and smooth for my liking. The creepy/horro/gritty/angsty/monsterous side of Guilty Gear is gone or nearly gone. Before character choice gave variety. It used to be: A. Ridiculously cutesy girl types (May, Elphelt) B. Creepy but still cutesy girl types (A.B.B.A., Dizzy) C. Voted most popular high school football fighter guy types (most characters) D. Creepy horror guy types (Testament, old Eddie, Zappa) E. Robot types (Robo-ky, Justice) F. Weird as f*ck types (Faust, Bedman) G. Sexy but tough girl types (Millia, I-No) Now in Xrd they've eliminated B and E, and nearly eliminated D, watering down Zato the last holdout. So allow me to list a few things here, if you will, since it is most obvious to me in Zato/Eddie as he has returned. 1. Zato/Eddie now looks more friendly. Since when are raised from the dead, back from the underworld, bound-to-demon types supposed to be crossing the line headed to popcorn-sparkly? Less dragons, less demons, less skulls, less spikes, less scary demon hands, more friendly PG-rated creatures, more robot-puppy big eyed dog Eddie faces/heads. I don't play May for a reason, OK, I like my characters with some angst. 2. Testament is gone. No more Grim Reaper visuals, no more icky funk, no more blood or slime. 3. Gone is ABBA, creepy, bloody, bandaged girl. 4. I miss Zappa and his incredible Eastern world spirits of the dead. Obviously there isn't much for me to do but enjoy the game for what it is and lament what is gone. Maybe I can hope some new future character will somehow be the embodiment of what old Eddie was for me. Rant ending.
  12. -- Glad I'm not the only one that noticed! As for general advice, I'm no expert by far. But I read that this old old (not Xrd, but still helps) guide by Poon is super good for getting into the right mindset. I've been going through it a little again myself. http://www.dustloop....?showtopic=1791
  13. Well maybe not that one, but I like the old Slash Eddie attack much better than the new shark... weirdly enough that was possibly _the_ move that made me want to play the character. I like the between-wins-cutscene Eddie that looks like a black dragon. EDIT: The icon/avatar that BAP04 is using... that Eddie is my favorite right there. It just seems like he went from half dragon-demon and half shark animations to 75% shark animations, with only standing Slash really looking like a dragon to me.
  14. Just want to say that while Zato/Eddie still has to be the coolest character design, visually I'm a little disheartened. I am really sad that Eddie/Shadow is so much less dragony/demonish now. Too many shark moves. And even Eddie in shadow person form looks less like a dragon than before... his head is too triangular/angular. Oh well, just had to vent that.
  15. Two newb questions: 1. Is there anyway to combo after a connected 236S, 236S other than a RC? Maybe on counterhit or slightly airborne opponent or something? I swear I saw a video with someone doing a combo after it... I think a quick dash, S,H, to launch or something close but I can't find a way to make it happen. 2. I read somewhere that Jam's IAD was the lowest vertically?. Am I crazy, or is Chipp's just as low in the air? Did I miss this information on an obvious chart somewhere on the site?
