You lowered the sticks! Aw great now my wrist is going to drag on the console. HOW COULD YOU ID!!!!! I now officially blame you for all my future losses Nate. =P
-
Ah yes, forgive me for forgetting that fact. Looks like I will have to waste time regardless to get the button layout right. Oh well.
-
Well then. Is A = square, B = Triangle, C = Circle, and Drive = X Type A or B?
-
Awesome, means I won't have to go and stop my matches to do so. Thanks. Nono, not require. Accidental Ice Carz. It happens, sometimes I'm too focused on the fight that I go to do, say a Drive move ( X by default) and nudge the R stick by accident. Easy special 2 is C ice car I believe, but yeah. Or if I have meter to do so, Ice Wave super (SP4) while they were already blocking. its very annoying to have the game play for you.... -grumbles something inaudible about Maxi in Soul Calibur-

I just want to make sure, for those who unfortunately use a PS3 pad, are we going to have all the PS3's R stick input's disabled? I would hate to accidentally bump that little fucker and do an ice carz at the wrong time. Pissed me off the first time I did it in a player match. >.<

Well i know you handed me a thorough beating so i doubt that was me. lol

Agreed Good Games all around and a lot of really close matches, and even in the first round! A rarity in seeded matches! Anyway i wish I could have stayed til the end of singles but duty called. Hopefully i can make it to the next biweeklies! And although I'm flattered, I doubt that i could have taken best Jin with 0/2 and 0/2, lol There was another Jin there... right,... Right?

It's too bad she didn't give what amount of Pins are needed on both sides, assuming of course she meant a straight firewire cable, cuz if she did they aren't that expensive from the site Mike Z linked: http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10301 Prices range from ~$2 - $11

Jin's playstyle is more of a counter-puncher than a rushdown character. With projectiles to counter rundowns and travel moves to catch full screeners and runners, Jin's tactics vary the most from character to character, playstyle to playstyle. Normally a Jin player will look for a moment to turn the combo around and get on the offensive from a counter-hit Invul. DP and then punish with a long combo or freeze to set up a long combo. It all depends on the opponent and their actions.
-
Thank you, forgot about the start-up. Thanks.

Thanks Killey, this will work wonders on all the Jin's I'm facing as of late. I do have a follow-up though, when it comes to air-to-air combat and you've IAD/single jump vs a Super Jump from your opponent, you could use j.c as that hits high and low, with some side to side as well, in case you wiff the j.d, and would set up for a j.d if you want to freeze afterwards. Am I miss informed? thx
-
I can't say about if it is un-blockable or not, but it already has been confirmed to have the imput of 720 + D.
-
So if you clash Ice ride, and wouldn't hit your opponent your Ice will cancel out and you continue at the same momentum in the "standing" aerial animation? I think I'd rather do a j.D instead just for a free freeze with a momentum stop, since your opponent would not have the time to turn around, and wouldn't be able to block appropriately, situation pending of course you don't actually want to get further away from your opponent. Edit: A thousand pardons kid viper, I misread what you had typed and gotten myself confused indeed
-
Well I will try on different characters to clash with the ice car, see if that works, but I think it has something to do with the counter-style of Bang's Drives. I personally would love that if you clash with the ice car you continue on past your opponent, un-affected by momentum changes at all, would make this glitch much more useful than just against Bang.
-
I haven't tested this out all the way but I have noticed something unusual and I was wondering if anyone else had any information. The situation so far that I've noticed is that against Bang, if you dash at him around head level with an ice car, usually C, and he counters with his drive, it will hit and negate the ice car but not hit Jin. When this happens it keeps jin's forward momentum as if he was still on his ride, but will put him in his aerial animations, as I then hit barrier block, but it gave me Jin's j.B. Again this may have been just for that match, i plan to try later I just was wondering if anyone else has seen this yet?

I'd say he's eccentric about his vocation and hobbies.

There is something I did find interesting, even though to some it maybe a no brainer, but I didn't know until yesterday that you can throw tech off of Nirvana. So if she's stomping her way to you looking for a hug, you can tell that bitch off lol. It was kinda difficult for me to find out considering the only Carl player worth his salt around here, feels his Carl is now worth working on his loop game.
-
The easiest sure-fire way to have a good start-up against Arakune is to knock your opponent silly once you hear, "The Wheel of Fate...". Just a solid blow to the jaw, works wonders. LOL Alright in all seriousness the only success I've had against Arakune is denying his cloud cover. As long as you don't get crimson bugged you should be fine. IB then DP if you do get it once, he is close, try to peck with an (A/B) ice edge if you cant do that. If he's floating in air, he can't block so an anti-air DP to get him grounded. Past that I usually get whomped on so I too would like to know.

It really depends on how your rival plays, otherwise it is hard to give any advice, so I have a similar buddy of mine who is an amazing Carl. His main tactics involve timing Nirvana to attack in between Carl attacks and Carl's Loops. He also makes sure to save supers to either help Nirvana regen, or when your down. Watch out for the Super Gear when your prone, I have yet to find a reliable way outta that one! HAHA The best tactics I can give is to either: A) Hunt Nirvana, preferably in a sneaky manner. 'Oops looks like I keep missing Carl with my Ice Car, how do I keep doing that?' LOL. Carl really is half a character while Nirvana is down, and each move she does and gets hit with during her move takes from her bar. Afterwards, Carl is rather slow and lacks decent moveset to justify his low health. It will probably force your rival into a defensive game, which with Jin being a range whore, isn't too hard to combat. B) Throw anytime you get close to Carl, most of his good moves start with a Throw or end with a Throw loop in the air. So learn to counter-throw, which is easier if you just make sure you throw him first. Worse comes to worse you whiff or you counter his throw. Again I wish I could help more, but I'd need to see your rival play to see his weakness. Best to look for them or patterns he does, so you can predict his movements. Does he always start a match with the same move or movement? Does he favor a special or a super, if so where are the safe zones that are close to Carl? Otherwise know your BnB combos. Heres a video of a decent Carl and Jin player (not the best but those are on nicovideo which i have no account for): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehTNbphywd0 Anyway best of luck!

Haha, thank you Tsak. I was waiting until i could find a copy of the artwork book, but that site has a picture of the sword's blade. And that the gray section at the top is not part of the blade, but of the sheath. Yeah the blade looks like it is steel, no temper lines but very little detail is actually in the blade. No tang to see, but yeah more a katana than I originally thought. Screenshots were hard to decipher with the bright light trails that covered it. Thank you Tsak! Edit to avoid double post: I mean not to personally attack you Marquis, it was merely a quip to go out on my part of the conversation with, inviting you to continue. Apologizes for any mis-conduct construed by that remark.

Exactly, I had a problem with the word "clearly", hence the quotations. To the best of my knowledge, a katana is described as a long curved blade, with a single edge, that is smelted by folding the steel, the alternating layers of Tamahagane and Nabe-gane, over and over to strengthen the blade. This leaves a clear characteristic tempering lines along the blade when the sword smith quenches the blade to make the curve. So, yes I would like to check for the hamon shapes and the tempering lines. As for the inability to see the whole blade, is that we can not physically take apart the weapon in question to see if the whole blade, after forging, is a single piece through the entirety of the weapon, through the middle of the grip and into the cap. Since I can not see any tang between the grips on his sword its hard to say "Why yes the blade clearly goes through, can't you see where it is held in place?" Since this is an alternative time line/future/parallel dimension, I can not say that it is even made of steel. Maybe it is some other weapon that is like a katana but not, or is a katana just using a different process to forge it. Hell it could be made of some high density plastic with an edge... would that make it a katana? Basically what I have been trying to say is the lack of evidence is not the evidence. Since I can not make any definitive conclusions that it doesn't have the qualities of a katana, and he looks like he uses iaijatsu, or iaido, (even though his animations don't show him actually cleaning off the blade before re-sheathing, but hey as is anime ), which is, again to the best of my knowledge, only practiced with a katana. So I refer to my statement prior about fowl, and the game and its designers treat it as a katana, so I'll say its a katana until proven otherwise. Did that clear it up my intentions in my previous statement a bit more or are we to match wits once more, Marquis?
-
I wouldn't say "clearly" a katana. It's never out long enough to really get a good look to see if its tempered or not. There is also no way to tell if it is a single piece throughout the weapon. However, he does wield it as a katana, holds it as a katana and using "art of mental presence and immediate reaction", also known as "Draw cut style", iaijutsu, which using the katana. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck... Edit: Grammer
