  1. I remember watching a stream a long time ago, where the commentators mentioned that Japanese players would burst immediately when they first got hit because they knew they would get it back by the next round. I think that immediately instilled in me a crappy habit of slapping burst right out of the gate, regardless of what I was getting hit by. Definitely something I need to break. Thanks for the feedback! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. From FR last weekend I definitely need to work on vs. Ram specifically; the few times I actually tried to hit the sword summons, I wound up just wildly whiffing j.p and my conversions definitely weren't optimal. Also committing to poorly placed CW and not doing anything effective after IB'ing darou. I have been wanting a match to put up for critique for a while though, and I think this is a solid one. Edit: found my matches against Go1 and Lost Soul as well. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. wat Also, the numbers on bdc jump make it a lot easier to understand why I still occasionally get caught of the startup of jump back FD. Thanks for all the hard work!
  4. Assuming that invuln transfer is static across all special moves, what's the rate of diminishing returns? Is cancelling before frame 7 the threshold for all 6 frames of invuln? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. Adding to the Ky list, 6P will beat the heavy version of DP with a CH and (at least from my experience), typically clash with the light (slash? ) version. Sent from my SM-G360V using Tapatalk
  6. Late to the topic, but I'm really digging the 5H j.2k dp punish. Small note, I was having difficulty consistently ending the combo with j.PD, (D would sometimes whiff) but j.PK dj.KD works as well and has made it a lot more consistent for me. Full note: 5H, j.2KD, c.S, f.S, j.SHD2K, j.PK, dj.KD (195 Sol)
  7. Isn't the fact that diagonal inputs count as both one horizontal and one vertical input the reason that IADs are possible though? Not that it matters; if my execution is sloppy and I still get bdc bite when I need it, I'm good.
  8. What was done to IL other than making it +3 on block? I'm having a hard time finding a consolidated list of confirmed 1.1 changes outside of the patch notes.
  9. So that yellow cancel at 6:53 after 2D (which clearly makes contact) was fucking with me for a minute until I found a more literal definition for yellow cancels, per the wiki: Yellow when Roman Canceling while the opponent is in neither hitstun nor blockstun. Occurs during start-up and early active frames. Can also be performed in neutral or during movement options. Costs 25% Tension. It looks like he cancels it during the startup of Millia's burst, when she's technically not in hitstun or blockstun. Found it interesting enough to point out. May be a pretty solid option select for burst punishing if you've got 25-49% bar?
  10. full boost, nidhogg, and +r i'll enter whatever, those are just my cents
  11. I'll be heading out that way around 8-9 with Guardian. What do you guys drink?
  12. Oh, sick. For some reason I was under the impression that you had to be in 5D stance for the super. Thanks much.
  13. Apologize if this has been asked already, but I didn't see it. I'm having a ton of trouble getting the 5D28D super to connect after 6DB -> 5DC in the corner. I wait for what feels like as long as possible before doing the input, but Kagura either doesn't do anything or he jumps in the air and gets in D stance. I know this means I'm mistiming it if that is in fact the right method, but I can't tell if that's the case. Do I actually wait for 5DC to recover completely before inputing the command, or is there some cancel that I'm missing?
  14. An inadequate organizer? Dude, he runs 3-4 games on 6 setups and gets it all done in one day. Between arbitrary match times, having to wrangle motherfuckers for matches, managing brackets, and entering the tournaments himself (who can blame him, it's a monthly in Middle Tennessee, I'm sure he'd like to get some tournament time in too), there's a living, breathing fucknado of variables plotting to turn this ONE GUY'S idea of a cool thing into an un-fun crap day for people. Running 5 games in one day because it's theoretically possible is like planning a preschool field trip and expecting all the kids to sit down, shut up, and walk straight for 7 hours. AND HE KNOWS THAT. Milln's a perfectly good TO, and honestly, I don't think anyone here would be any better without going full villian and DQ'ing dudes from this meager pile of friends and mutual hobbyists on 5 minute timers. I wish he'd ask for help some time, and maybe if he did, we could shoehorn another game in or something, but seriously dude. It's a monthly in MidTN, it's a little thing.
  15. star, dude, what the fuck it's milln he's the only reason we have tournaments here logistics aren't that cut and paste
  16. There seems to be some goofy property disparity between ground BRP2 and ground-to-air (in this case, ground to wall stick) BRP2, and I think he's coming from the former. Try getting 2S after a raw BRP2 in the corner. I honestly can't get it to connect, but after (cornered) Whatever -> BHB2 ~ D -> 5S 5H BRP2, I can snag a 2S every time, or even a 2D xx BHB2 right into dustloop with enough charge.
  17. I used to be able to pass 13 steps in ITG. That won me a couple tournaments around the area. Lost the rhythm, kept the buick-huge chun-li quads.
  18. Never mind, Batman's already killing people in one combo.
  19. Injustice actually feels like...70% SF4 and 30% MK. Blocking is SF-style so you don't have to arbitrarily hotwire your brain to work with a block button, characters don't move like they're prairie dogging cinder blocks, frame data is static, and stages feel a lot less claustrophobic. The biggest similarities it has with MK are the way attack sequences and special moves work, which is pretty dynamic and kinda cool in my book. The clash system sounds a bit wacky, but I completely forgot to test it out in the demo. It's really pretty fun, and I've been using my MK9 disc to slice cheese since week 2.
  20. getting pretty tired of your shit, boner
