Yea my friend is good since the GG days we had so i had to learn to counter attack with Ky so hakumen just compliments me perfectly, it's all about anticipation. 5d has the longest start up so I only use it during air dashes towards me since it also has the longest activation (12 frames or so) 6 and 2c have only 7 active frames and also only have a 1 frame startup so they are best for countering fast projectiles. I prefer 2d since it deals damage and 6d combos are heavily prorated and hakumens are combos are hard to pull off especially kishuu>enma which is why i RARELY use them >_>. But 6d is better for countering nails since bang is most likely gonna air dash at you but 3d si great for flinging them into the corner for zantetu's :D As for hotaru after jd, it requires timing and practice, I don't even have that perfected yet D: Do the motion input as you grab confirm the counter. And then when he sends them up press b. It should usually land it's hard tho.
