neutral techs happen later than holding left or right and teching. just because a combo blue beats doesn't mean you could have gotten out of it with a neutral tech.

thats a lot like carl shooting up the list. before clap trap was commonly done, carl was around the bottom. it took quite long for ssbm since there are both so many characters, and such a wide gap between them (so much that almost everyone plays the top 4 out of 26 characters). so you need a lot of balls to even play a character below captain falcon. the game is unbalanced as fuck. even now DK is a lot higher than i remember seeing him and that's after Brawl came out. blazblue has a lot more players playing the low tiers than in ssbm so it's a lot easier to figure out just how good a character is.

im having a lot of trouble with jin's 5D when playing footsies, it seems to be mostly safe even if i IB and he can start his pressure on me if i block it any other way. it's also seems to be a decent anti-air and i find myself mostly jumping around and waiting to j.c. can 5D be stuffed by any of ragna's pokes, if not is there a decent punish on startup/recovery?

personally I think you should use whatever japanese guilty gear bbs, blog, forum, or whatever there is to help figure out your team logistics. you seem pretty well known over there by now, but it can't all be word-of-mouth, can it? honestly your team situation so far (the whole time I've been reading the blog, about from the beginning lol) seems to be one of the big reasons you aren't qualified for SBO. that and May. well, whatever works out for you in the end.

I've always done P+K+HS with HS mapped to R1 and D mapped to R2. I've never had input related trouble with any FRC in the game. I would say mapping at least one of the face buttons to the shoulders is invaluable for pad players. Stick is a step above pad, but IMO it's not necessary unless you play a character that demands a high level of execution, like I-No.
