The problem is: there are better options/variant in those combos. Post it in Japanese BBS is like telling SF veterans: "Hey, Ryu has jump Hard Kick > crouch Hard Kick." They knew it but they are not bothered to mention. Keep working on it, you will eventually find something awesome. Suggestion about that A+C 62369E~C: 1) It's Rei vs Rei/Toki, as that's what we see from the vid 2) 62369 motion after A+C is easy to mess up. 3) E~C, it means you need to input E then C very very very fast. Hope it helps

From stage 4: http://jbbs.livedoor.jp/game/26689/storage/1146334671.html It says using Banishing Strike vs Rei's IAD in round openning, auto boost then mash 2C to take out 90% of Rei's life gauge, around 22 hit. That's pretty much what Ammo150 did in the vid. ~>236A>236B>236C> boost is nothing new. Japanese player does much more effective/damaging stuff after that if you read the thread from that link. More I read that Souther thread more I want to use Souther, man, so many cool combos and tricks I never heard.

just dont leave your hands from the stick and your eyes from the screen. Sometimes combo miss and you get a chance to make a come back. Able to capture every opportunity helps you win.

So dont worry people, Rei is a buggy top tier character we all know. Toki is too broken so Rei and Shin can finally stop him. Mamiya? Who cares

In Japan, we have Mr.White, Taji-kun, Yurarix. In good o' America, we have Nohoho, Bruno and TY? Haha. Once I am done with Shin, I will focus on Yuda then. Just imagine Shin has two extra helpers, let's say Dagar and Comac. That's how strong Yuda is. Although Yuda doesn't have Shoryuken style invincible move to get out of oki, even without Aura gauge, he has "You Used Me?" guard cancel if the situation is really desperate to gain back some initiative. Juda has plenty of options in different situation, very nice.

I enjoy using Souther's 236236C for that reason, Mhahahahahahahahahaha! I can't stop laughing whenever it hits. Nohoho, let's have some Juda death matches after I come back from Otakon. Juda is really fun to play or play against. Check your PM, I am going to Kongman this Tuesday from 4 to 6. BTW, Bruno, White is a Japanese player I believe. he is the top Juda player in Japan right now. We probably wont be able to contact him any soon but Nohoho might translate his strategies in his blog and make a giant Juda guide some day.

First question: Roah is the best, then Shin and Rei are tied for second and third. Second question: Rei's -3 Star FKO combo from stage 4 Rei discussion: C+D>6>2C>214C,214C>JB>Delayed air 236A/B> landing JB>A+C>air 236D>E>JA>236C+D C+D>6>A+C>8A>236A/B>A+C>Boost JA>A+C>2369D>JB>236C+D ^ doesnt work on Mamiya and Shin, JB misses against Souther. Last question: Rei's -4 Star combo: B+D grab>IAD JC>close stand C>C+D>E>close stand C>A+C>air 2363214+D

single, double and now triple yosohazan?! Yeah yeah I know, quadruple yosohazan is next, right?

B – Basic System Info Most stuff in this section can be found in Nohoho’s move list guide on gamefaqs. B1 – Energy Gauge The players' health is indicated by orange life bars on the top of the screen. When that runs out you lose the round. A portion of all inflicted damage is shown as a blue segment of the life bar. This part heals (ie: turns orange) over time as long as you aren't being attacked or high-jumping. B2 - Seven Stars of the Hokuto Below the life bar is the seven star gauge. Various attacks can be used to reduce the number of glowing stars on your opponent's gauge. Once it is empty a final "death star" will light up below their main star gauge. At this point the "DEADLY FIST BLOW" indicator is displayed near your super bar and you can use a special One-Hit Kill attack to win the round. Both players recover one missing star at the beginning of each round. You'll also recover a star if your opponent fails to connect with a One-Hit Kill attack. When you hit your opponent with a launch type move (including Grave Shoot) and jump up after them, a subsequent special move will take an extra star. There are some restrictions on taking away stars during a combo. First, the total number of stars than can be taken during one combo is three. Second, any given move can be used to take away stars only once per combo. Note that there are exceptions to both of these rules. B2a - Breaking the 3 Star Limit This game’s limitation of the maximum stars you can take away from your opponent is 3 per combo, but there are exceptions. For instance, B+D grab doesn’t count toward the limit. Characters that can do a –3 star combo after B+D grab will make the combo –4 stars. There are alternative ways to break the system. They happen too random I am not sure what the requirements are. Please check Gwyrgyn Blood's Hokuto no Ken Advanced Gameplay FAQ Thread for further info! B2b - Jump Install Star Glitches Basically by boost cancel with special moves on the ground with up direction at the end after launch type moves, especially Grave Shoot, ground moves that doesn’t take away stars in combos are now taking one star, and the ones that take one star will take two instead. In Shin’s case it will look like: C+D>6>C>A+C>2148E~C Usually 214C only take one star in combos, but with 2148E~C, now 214C will take two stars away from opponent if you done it correctly. B3 - Guard Gauge Next to the star gauge is the guard gauge. This is depleted as you block attacks. When it reaches zero you'll suffer a guard crush and become briefly unable to block. Note that this particular gauge doesn't always appear. There are three different weight classes when it comes to guard crushing: Heavy: Shin, Heart-Sama Medium: Kenshiro, Raoh, Toki, Rei, Juda, Jagi Light: Thouther, Mamiya When a character from a heavier class fights against one from a lighter class only the lighter character will have a guard gauge. In the event of heavy vs. heavy and light vs. light both sides have a gauge. For medium vs. medium neither gets a gauge.

Yeah right, Roah vs Toki is 50/50. Or maybe Roah is really that good?

The original one on gamefaqs was a giant mess. It confused everyone including myself:psyduck: This time, I am going to make it much better. A few things first: 1. How to use this guide Just look at the following index, then click the section that you want to read. 2. Basic notations 7 / 8 / 9 UpBack / Up / UpForward 4 / 5 / 6 = Back / Standing or Neutral / Forward 1 / 2 / 3 DownBack / Down or Crouching / DownForward Button Layout: A C E B D A: Weak punch B: Weak kick C: Strong punch D: Strong Kick E: Boost 3. A tiny introduction I urge you to go through Basic section. It gives you the fundamental knowledge of the game even you don’t play Shin. I am really surprised that many people often “discover” the basic tricks that are already mentioned more than a year ago. Please do read the whole thing. It’s really important. 4. Quick movelist UNIVERSAL MOVES: Throw: close to opponent 4/6+C Boost: E Grab: 4/6+BD Grave Shoot: AC Banishing Strike: CD (hold) Heavy Strike: AB Aura Guard: hold E while blocking Guard Cancel: 6+CD while blocking Stagger Cancel: attack button and swirl stick while staggered Tech Hit: attack button while reeling in the air Special Wake-up: 8/2 when knocked down Special Skill 1: 6A Special Skill 2: 6B SPECIAL MOVES Nanto Senkyakuso: 214+B Nanto Gokutoken: 623+kick Nanto Ryuhashidan: 236+A Nanto Hakuhazan: 214+C Nanto Senjuzan: 236+C -> 236+C Nanto Gyakushiso: close to opponent 63214+A Nanto Hakuen Tenshou: 236D / 214D I won't die by your hand: when own star gauge is empty 412363214+A SUPER MOVES Nanto Raishinso: 236236+C Nanto Senjuryugeki: 214214+C (hold) ONE-HIT KILL Nanto Shoshu Tokyaku: 236+CD

I think it is: Boost > 4 (stop the boost motion, you time it for the distance) > throw.

Kenshiro make your head asplode

Same here! I input 22 against Thouther's 2B, and Roah parry it! I did it three times so it should be true. -
Yeah! You told me about that before! You wrote about it too! Oh well, I forget things fast Thanks for the match CD! Although Nax Mamiya is still brutal, the stand far D > bike super is just awesome, DK's Ken is much better than his old match vids I saw. His combo and teleport are really good! Many times he teleport through a slower recovery move, the next thing I see is either 70% life gauge disappears or a FKO finish. About that Tougeki Spirit DVDs for this year, anyone has it? Well, I think I can get it from Kong Man! They probably have people to grab it from Japan. I will ask them for that. Hopefully the price isnt going to be too expensive, just 4 DVDs after all, right?

for that Rei air charge move 236C, I found out the real command to cancel air 236C to another air 236C is: air 236C > 2369C > 2369C >... 2369C must be done fast but not too fast or 236 motion might be skipped. That explains why you see in those match vids, Rei sometimes jumps up accidentally during that air 236C loop. There is certain tempo for this cancel, you need to practise a lot to feel it. holy smoke, I cant believe Roah's far standing D is cancelable. I tried far stand D > C+D today and had no success at all. About 2C > IAD j.B, I want to ask you that works on normal standing opp or Banishing Strike wall bounced opp? I will try it tomorrow. Nohoho, I went to Kongman today, both sides are working!!! So come tomorrow if you are free. 12 to 2pm, I will be there 100%!
-
Tian: Shin/Mr.Heart/Jagi Nohoho: Juda/Jagi/Ken? Gwyrgyn Blood: Ken/Thouther/Roah Roah's D.f CD means "far standing D > C+D" right? 2C > IAD j.B has a difficult timing? maybe I should check them out this saturday.

Damn, I do look like kiddie version of Mr.heart after all when I see that cosplay pic, lol! I will start to eat more now :D Well, I am not seeking challenge over Otakon, BECAUSE YOU GUYS ARE NO MATCH FOR MY SHIN NOW, MHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Nah, just kidding. Who cares about competition these days really. I want to play against different characters from various players so I could complete Shin's faq. After all I have fight Nohoho's Juda and Jagi for some time that is it. I dont want to write anti Raoh/Ken/Souther/Toki/Rei/Heart/Shin/Mamiya strat is just try to do two lame 50% combo on them:( I need more experience/insight and Otakon should give me plenty of them. I am planning to play Hnk three day straight over there if that's possible. Free play rules! Oh, if Nohoho goes to Otakon it would be really cool because his tricks are endless, seriously. Hehe.
-
Have you bought newest Arcadia yet, Nohoho? I am going to grab Arcadia #75 this saturday and head to Kongman around 12:30. If nothing goes wrong, I will enter Otakon next month because they got two Hnk setups! We should talk about it no matter you decide to go or not. (I am going to record as much video as possible over there!) Meet me over Kongman if you have time.
-
Seeing Shin droping from semi god status when the game just came out to tier C and Mr.Heart rising from the bottom to tier B, I have nothing to say. Who cares about the tiers anyway. Otherwise, you wont see Msin Roah or Nax Mamiya.
-
Every taunt gives your opp one aura gauge and boost gauge! So it's somewhat meaningful now
-
Nope. FKO is not cancellable. There are moves that give enough stun/frame advantage for FKO to connect but it's not cancellable. Therefore, you have to delay the FKO a tiny bit to connect if you found C or D came out instead. Just like Shin's 2B > close C > Banishing Strike, you have to delay Banishing Strike a bit if you want it to connect. Well, the buttons wasnt fixed yesterday. But I saw the mechanic walking toward Kongman when I head to my grandma's apartment, good news maybe? I will go to Kongman this Thursday, and get my friend to come too. Hopeful I will see you there, nohoho.
-
I am going to Kongman this afternoon and check the buttons. Wait, who is that souther player? Is that a short chinese kid wear glasses? But yeah, please talk to owner about the button issue. Or post it here so I could tell them to fix it. If the buttons are fixed, could nohoho go to Kongman on this Thursday afternoon? I will try to get my friend to come. If anyone is going to Kongman, just post it up so others could come.
-
I am going to play Hnk tomorrow, which is Saturday. Nohoho, I will be in Kongman from 2 to 4. See if you can go there too.

Enough of Shin today. I was quite surprised when I saw Nohoho already got above 10 mil score! After 2 hours of Shin, I was kinda bored so I went for the score hunting. The first try was total awful. Everything went wrong and only got 7 mil. The second try I began to remove all the stars as fast as I could in the first round, and went for 5 sec perfect FKO for the second round. I got 8.8 mil after stage 5! I scooped very bad again Toki because he jump and teleport back and forth in the third round T_T And then Kenshiro's 6B slam me across the screen. Against Kenoh, I falled for his 214214C in the beginning of third round -_-''' But I still got 11 mil after all, yeeeeeeees! I tried again afterward, but computer is very defensive and I only got 10.9 mil this time. Lesson learned, never let computer have one full aura gauge! Characters like Kenoh often does a super in the beginning of the match. Just beat them down in the first round without giving them aura guage. Cpu usually does nothing if it has no aura guage in the beginning of second/third round(except that Toki jump and teleport around really pissed me off), it often dont block dash 2A or 2B too! I also found Shin's C+D > 6(you must use 6 for auto boost I believe) > A+B > E > E (yes two E in row) > 5C > 236C > 5A > 236C > 214C needs no boost guage!!! It works very well, crazy damage plus -3 star easy. You may want skip a 236C if opp is not juggled high enough.
