  1. Sorry it took me a while to answer. Been on vacation. ANd yeah, like I said first fight. Also didn't have access to a printer so I couldn't really get the layout right. Kinda eye balled it.
  2. So I finally finished guys, made a pretty sick one with the help of my brother. May not be that impressive, but I learned a lot so the next one should come out sick. Here's the pics. At first the color scheme was going to be black and red, hence the red shoulder buttons. Ended up not liking the original design we had so we scraped it last second and came up with that blue box guy. Sadly, my PS3 just got the YLOD so I have nothing to use it on. :P
  3. Quick question - How much clearance would I need to fit the joystick and all that other shit height wise? And what's the height of your finished box?
  4. Out of curiosity, how come you went 8 buttons on that badboy then?
  5. Wow. That's pretty damn sick, not gonna lie. And yeah I just thought about that, rather keep it all white and simple haha. For a strictly for fighting game stick would an 8-button layout be preferable to a 6-button? I'm thinking it would be, especially for MVC3. But not so much for Blazblue, GG and Arcana. For the crimps, how many packs am I going to need? Just 1? And sorry for all the questions man. Just wanna get it right the first time y'know? xD
  6. So I need those little red crimp thingies as well if I use that PCB? EDIT- Also, which Sanwa JLF do I get? The one with or without the PCB? And I suggest 1 of each color because it'd be easier for me to identify which is which when I'm hooking everything up, wouldn't it?
  7. Any other tips I should know before I proceed? Haha.
  8. Can't I just splice any normal USB cable and solder them to the PCB and voila? As far as A/B cables go, I can get them for my employee discount cheap at Best Buy. xD
  9. I'm just doing it for fun. I needed something to do in between work and school and I've been wanting one for a long ass time. I rather make it for around $100 and be the only one in the world with a Joystick like it. Rewarding in a sense. EDIT- Alright just to make sure before I press the "SHIP IT TO ME BUTTON" 9 Sanwa Buttons (getting an extra one just in case) 1 Sanwa Joystick 1 Sanwa Joystick Balltop 35m (standard amirite?) 1 Cthulu pad thingy 1 of each colored wire That's it right?
  10. Ah forget it then. I'll just start building the case and then get it when they restock. Thanks for all the helps guys. I'll report back here with the finished product.
  11. I'm just gonna get that Cthulu one that works with PC and PS3. That's the only one I really need. But yeah, is there another reliable trusty site I can get parts from? Cause like I said lizardlick is sold out of Sanwa joysticks. :\
  12. They're out of the Joystick I want. D: Any other site where I can buy just that?
  13. Alright. Quick question about the Sawna joystick. Does the JLF one come with the balltop? Or do I have to buy it seperate? Totally getting a dope one if I can find it.
  14. What exactly do you mean by dual mod? Like I'd be able to use it for Ps3 and my PC? Guilty Gear online with a fightstick then some MVC3 on my PS3 with the same one?! Haha. I'm assuming you're talking about the Cthulu one that's on there? And you say it's substantially easier?
  15. Oh I know. I'm just talking about parts I need to order. I read the enitre Slagcoin guide already so I'm pretty much sticking to Sawna. My brothers going to help me when it comes to all the tools so I'm pretty much set there. So yeah, 8 buttons, and I'm taking the home button from the pad most likely. Sawna JLF Joystick and the wires. That all I gotta order? Keep in mind I'm making my own case out of MDF wood.
  16. So as far as parts that I would need to order if I'm padhacking, I'd need: 8 Buttons Joystick A set of each wire in different colors (Probably would make my life easier) What else? Just want to make sure I get my order right the first time so I'm not missing anything haha.
  17. Alright. And as for recycling my old PS3 controller to use that as the PCB for the new board, that's entirely possible? It'll be connected the same way I'm assuming? Like a USB cable connected to the top of the Fightstick and possibly the home button in another location? Also, will a ps2 controller work on the PS3? I'm assuming it won't since it lacks USB. Sorry for droppin all the questions on you. D:
  18. Sounds good. Also, what should I use for the base of the case? I've seen a lot of different things (wood, steel, etc...). Which would you recommend?
  19. I need a suggestion when it comes to 8-Way gates. Which one should I go with if I'm leaning towards fighting games? The square 8-way?
  20. First post on Dustloop after a long time. Haha. Anyways, I just picked up MVC3 and I'm planning to pick up Arcana Hearts when it drops on the PSN, and I'm, simply put, dying for a fightstick really damn bad. I've been wanting one for the longest time but was unable to get one due to me not having a job and all that stuff. Thing is, I've been seeing a lot of custom fight sticks everywhere, and I want to make my own custom one now. I have absolutely no idea how to make one however, so I was wondering if someone could point me to the direction of a reliable site to buy all the parts and perhaps a guide to how to put it all together? I know it's a pain in the ass but I'm sure I can pull it off with enough patience. I also already have a broken ps3 controller laying around, will I be able to use that for the internal parts? Cause I know you need it for something. Anyways, thanks for the help in advance.
  21. I just use that strat from that one vid that tells you to j.D right before you land so that you're already in drive. Once you have that going, just do it almost right in front of him ( Just out of his range though) then 214D to get around him, hit him to the other side of the screen and unleash a combo on him. That's how I usually get them at least. Or have them come to you, that works too, as someone else just said.
  22. So I think I figured out how to beat the crappy ones. Usually they rush you, all you have to do is 2C them as soon as you block the ice car, and it almost always lands, then just follow up with a combo. The good ones are still giving me trouble though, because they don't rush you, they just bait till THEY get the upperhand and rock you. I can't even j.C them cause they have that up slashy move and it just, rocks the crap outta you when you're falling back down and they get you in there 5D.
  23. Usually in the last two. That's a loler chart.
  24. This is my hardest match up. I went to a friends house yesterday to hang out, and this other kid was there. He was blasted, first time playing ever, using Jin, and he still whooped me with my Noel. I don't understand how to fight these guys. At all. And it just frustrates me when I find a level 3 Jin online just ripping me apart with the same combo. 2D can go over Ice Car, sure, but what do you do when they just pull it again and you're still in drive? Yeah. I can't win.
  25. Yeah I was trying to fight him by sticking to the air, and only coming down when I pull a 2D out, then drive him. Problem with that is that you leave yourself open if he blocks the drive, then there comes that half life grab. Crap, even a Hell mode Tager put some hair on my chest. I didn't even have to go online to encounter one that I had trouble with.
